British judge refuses to dismiss Rowling plagiarism case
Back in July, we told you that British author Adrian Jacobs’ estate was suing Scholastic, claiming that Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is “substantially similar” to Jacobs’ 1987 book The Adventures of Willy the Wizard.
Today, the New York Times is reporting that:
“A judge overseeing the case in Britain agreed that the assertions by Mr. Jacobs’s estate are ‘improbable’ but refused to dismiss the suit.”
What do you think? Why is the judge refusing to dismiss the suit? Thanks to Tim for the tip!
