Pottermore to name Charlie Redmayne as CEO
Charlie Redmayne, the Executive vice-president and chief digital officer at HarperCollins publishing, is set to become the Pottermore CEO on November 7 according to Bookseller.com.
Neil Blair, the Pottermore chairman, describes Mr. Redmayne as “a formidable talent in both the digital and publishing spheres,” and this, combined with his “entrepreneurial spirit,” made him the ideal appointment for this role.
Since the launch of the Pottermore site and throughout the Beta testing period, the site has been headed by interim CEO Ron Herwood. But Redmayne’s appointment is said to mark “the next phase of the project.”
Public registration will officially open at the end of this month but the series e-books will not become available until 2012.
