Pottermore CEO reports more than $1.59 million worth of ‘Potter’ eBooks sold in first three days
According to a recent report, the Harry Potter fan site Pottermore sold over 150,000 Harry Potter eBooks in the first three days since being made available exclusively to the site at the end of March.
J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore site is currently the only place where you can buy the eBooks and Digital Audiobooks online. The rest of the site, which will combine elements of a Harry Potter-themed game and social network, is still available only as a beta version and due to fully open up to the public very soon.
The Harry Potter eBooks cost from $8 to $11.10 and $61.70 for the entire collection. Therefore, with the average cost of the eBooks at $9.55, the amount sold equates to over $1.59 million, which is definitely a great start. In fact, according to CEO Charlie Redmayne, the sales were “considerably higher than I expected.”
