Olympic officials place replica of “Isle of Wonder” book that JK Rowling read from up for auction
During the Opening Ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympic games in London, Harry Potter author JK Rowling read a piece from Peter Pan out of the Isle of Wonder book. Now, a replica of that book along with 2,000 other Olympic memorabilia items are going to be auctioned off to help raise money for the massive bills England has accrued with these Summer Olympic games.
The replica of the book that Rowling read from started the bid at only 1 GBP, but quickly escalated to over 1,000 GBP on Tuesday (approximately $1,670). There is only a little over 2 days left to bid on this item, which you can see right here.
Many of these items are closing out their bidding soon, so if you are interested in getting a piece of the Olympic spirit, head on over to the Auction site right here.
