J.K. Rowling alludes to possibility of a future ‘Harry Potter’ book
In just a few hours, J.K. Rowling’s first novel since the conclusion of the Harry Potter series will be released worldwide to an awaiting audience. And while The Casual Vacancy will be completely unrelated to the boy wizard novels, Ms. Rowling declared that she “left the door ajar” to continue the Potter series if she ever wanted to.
According to an article by MTV News, she admitted that the world she created was indeed magical stating, “If I had a fabulous idea that came out of that world, because I loved writing it, I would do it. But I’ve got to have a great idea.”
She also added in an interview with BBC News:
“There were a couple of the ‘Potters’ and I definitely knew that they needed another year,” she said. “I had to write on the run and there were times when it was really tough, and I read them, and I think ‘Oh God, maybe I’ll go back and do a director’s cut’, I don’t know. But you know what, I’m proud I was writing under the conditions under which I was writing, no one will ever know how tough it was at times.”
While we believe the NEXT great Harry Potter related book from the author will be the long awaited Harry Potter Encyclopedia, or the Scottish Book as she referred to it on PotterCast several years ago, we would love to see another crack at the magical world she created. Perhaps a deeper look at the Marauders or the Dumbledore/Grindelwald saga would be a rich storyline to venture into. What would you like to see from the author if she ever did put pen to paper again on the Hogwarts saga? Let us know in the comments below.
