Fan builds complete LEGO Hogwarts out of 400,000 bricks
It happened last October, but the details are only just being released now about the Harry Potter-themed LEGO build that took home both the “People’s Choice” and “Best in Show” awards at BrickCon2012. At this convention for adult LEGO hobbyists, Alice Finch unveiled an enormous scale model of Hogwarts castle complete with grounds, a Great Hall, Gryffindor Common Room, classrooms and much more. Looking at all the images on her flickr account you will find that Finch tried to capture the castle exactly as it is in the Harry Potter books.
This LEGO Hogwarts castle took 12 months to build and is comprised of over 400,000 bricks with 10,000 making up the central staircase alone. You can read the full story about it over at The Brothers Brick, a blog that highlights the best LEGO creations in the world.
