“The Cuckoo’s Calling” receives multiple offers for a film adaptation
Barely two weeks have passed since the news has leaked of J.K. Rowling’s ‘new’ book, The Cuckoo’s Calling, and already production companies are champing at the bit to turn the novel into a film.
The Guardian reports that Warner Bros. is leading the charge, having already cultivated a relationship with Rowling during the making of the Harry Potter films.
J.K. Rowling has already stated that The Cuckoo’s Calling is the first of a series of books, giving the winning production company the potential for further films, depending on the success of the first.
Even prior to the announcement of the author’s true identity, the novel had received two offers from television production companies.
