Margery Mason, the food trolley witch in “Goblet of Fire”, passes away at age 100
We are sad to report that Margery Mason, known to fans of the Harry Potter films as the food trolley witch in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, passed away on January 26, 2014, at the age of 100. The newspaper Ham & High announced that she passed away at her home, four months after her 100th birthday.
Margery had a long and diverse career, which began in 1927 when she was just 14 years old. She performed for troops during World War II before getting her big break in the series Talking to a Stranger alongside Dame Judi Dench in 1966. A talented Shakespearean actress, Margery was also the former artistic director of Repertory Theater in Bangor, Northern Ireland.
Margery continued acting until 2012, when she was 98 years old, making her one of the longest-serving actresses in history. Her talent and contribution to the acting world will be sorely missed.
