First look at Rupert Grint in “It’s Only a Play”
Previews for It’s Only a Play, Rupert Grint’s Broadway debut, begin in just a few days, and now we have our first promotional photos and video from the production!
Rupert will be among an all-star cast, including Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, and Megan Mullally. The play is written by Terrence McNally and directed by Jack O’Brien, who have both won multiple Tonys. Its description says,
It’s opening night of Peter Austin’s (Matthew Broderick) new play as he anxiously awaits to see if his show is a hit. With his career on the line, he shares his big First Night with his ‘best’ friend, a television star (Nathan Lane), his novice producer (Megan Mullally), his doped-up diva (Stockard Channing), his genius director (Rupert Grint), a lethal drama critic (F. Murray Abraham), and a fresh-off-the-bus coat check attendant (Micah Stock) on his first night in Manhattan.
It’s alternately raucous, ridiculous and tender—and proves that sometimes the biggest laughs happen off stage.
You can also check out what Rupert had to say earlier this week about keeping up with the all-star cast, living in New York, and more!
Previews begin August 28 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. Opening date is October 9, and it runs through January 4. Click here for tickets.
