RUMOR: “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” sequel release dates set
Warner Bros. may have just unintentionally spilled the beans on the release dates of the much-anticipated Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trilogy!
Earlier today, Warner Bros. set dates for a bunch of untitled future projects, including two that the eagle-eyed writers at Hypable noticed line up quite nicely as sequels to the Potter follow-up. According to them,
In addition to announcing a slew of ‘Untitled DC’ film dates on Wednesday afternoon, Warner Bros. has set dates for two ‘Untitled WB Event’ films.
The two movies are penciled in for November 16, 2018, and November 20, 2020. It’s the same day of the year that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will debut in 2016.
The first film in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trilogy is, of course, scheduled for a November 18, 2016, release, and these two films do seem to fit in the timeline for sequels.
Of course, this is just speculation. Not much is known about the Fantastic Beasts trilogy, although it was recently announced that it will be filmed at Leavesden Studios, the same location where all of the Harry Potter films were shot. The screenplay is being written by J.K. Rowling, and the movie will be produced by David Heyman. Thanks to Hypable for the tip!
What do you think? Do you buy these dates? Is two years long enough to produce a movie as complex as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them? Tell us your thoughts in the comments!
