Details on Evanna Lynch’s upcoming film announced
We found out last week that Evanna Lynch landed her first leading role. It has now been revealed that the film is called My Name is Emily, and Evanna will play the title character! Filming began just this week.
Here is the plot outline:
On her 16th birthday, Emily escapes from her foster home, and with the help of Arden, the boy who loves her, she sets out to find her father, a visionary writer, locked up in a far-off mental institution.
My Name is Emily will be the debut film from writer-director Simon Fitzmaurice, who suffers from ALS and used iris recognition software to type the script. It will be produced by Newgrange Pictures and Kennedy Films. Irish actor Michael Smiley will play Emily’s father and newcomer George Webster will play Arden.
Funding for the production was partly raised by a crowd-funding campaign that began last year. It has now raised over €100,000. Several actors and filmmakers supported the campaign, including Harry Potter star Alan Rickman!
You can also check out the film’s website and Facebook page. It is expected to be released sometime in 2015.
