The Fourth Year #QuidditchTurnsTen
More teams had joined the party this year as Quidditch began to spread across America and into Canada, with McGill University becoming the first international team to compete at a sanctioned event. Middlebury retained the trophy beating Vassar College 70*-40. WCAX news was on board to report.
Alivan’s Brooms made its first appearance at this World Cup. Established as a wand maker in 2002, Alivan’s has been an official provider of brooms to IQA since 2010, after its successful use at the second and third World Cups.
Alicia Radford took on her first major role for the IQA as Western Regional Director before becoming the Chief Operations Officer in the 2010 restructure. Under her guidance, the Western Region improved communication and created a stronger bond between Western universities and the IQA. She also trained and managed four Regional Correspondents who represented the IQA to 44 universities across six states.
Late 2008 also saw the five-year anniversary of Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup, the greatest EA sports game that could totally be remade again today.
There was also this fantastic MTV movie tie-in for the Half-Blood Prince film featuring a female Quidditch player at a boring dinner.
So which countries do you see Quidditch expanding into, especially as we approach Global Games 2016?
