Bill Nighy, Toby Jones Doodle to Raise Money for Epilepsy Charity
Potter alumni Bill Nighy, who played the stoic and somewhat intense Rufus Scrimgeour in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, and Toby Jones, the brilliant actor who brought the character of Dobby to life, are supporting an epilepsy charity called Epilepsy Action this year.
Epilepsy Action is a wonderfully unique charity that raises funds for people with epilepsy by collecting doodles from celebrities on National Doodle Day and auctioning them for funds. All proceeds from the auction go into improving epilepsy services by the charity and raising awareness of the condition. This year, apart from Bill Nighy and Toby Jones, there are other Potter alumni scribbling away for charity as well, such as Sophie Thompson (Mafalda Hopkirk), Julian Glover (the voice of Aragog), and Miriam Margolyes (Professor Sprout). The latter two, along with Bill Nighy, have doodled for the cause before. Read more about it here.
You can take a look at the celebrities’ delightful sketches below. (Sophie Thompson’s sketch is absolutely stunning!)
Eddie Redmayne, who will be playing Newt Scamander in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts movie, also drew a sketch for the charity in 2014. You can head to the Epilepsy Action website and take a look at the many celebrity sketches. The doodles will be auctioned on February 5 – the National Doodle Day.
