“Cursed Child” Brings Forward Press Performances
It was revealed by the producers of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child today that the production will hold its press performance a week earlier than scheduled. The embargo on press reviews for the play, which has been holding preview performances since Tuesday, July 7, will now lift at 12:01 a.m. BST on Tuesday, July 26.
This announcement also means that reviews will be published five days before the official script of the play hits bookshops around the world. The play, which is written by Jack Thorne, based on an original story by Thorne, J.K. Rowling, and director John Tiffany, follows Harry 19 years later as an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic. His youngest son, Albus, is about to start at Hogwarts, but is struggling to live up to his family legacy.
Both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
The official opening gala will still take place on Saturday, July 30. In other news, a new batch of tickets for the show went on sale two days ago. Have you managed to see it yet? Or have you booked tickets? Let us know your thoughts!
