“Fantastic Beasts” Is Coming to Comic-Con 2016
This is exciting! David Yates has revealed that he will be bringing new Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them footage to the San Diego Comic-Con later this month. Yates, who also directed the last four Potter films, said,
It’s very exciting, and I’m editing it at the moment, and it’s coming together really well. We’re going to take a few clips to Comic-Con very shortly, and we’re working on the second one as well.
Alongside Yates, stars confirmed to attend the Warner Bros. panel in Hall H on Saturday, July 23 include Colin Farrell, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Eddie Redmayne, Alison Sudol, and Katherine Waterston. Also on Saturday, the Warner Bros. booth will be hosting a Wand Station and talent signing.
If that wasn’t enough, there are two other panels taking place which are sure to excite fans, with one even featuring MuggleNet’s very own Kat Miller! Fantastic Fans & Where to Find Them is dedicated to the world of the Potter fandom, and will take place on Sunday, July 24 from 10:15 am – 11:15 am in Room 6A.

The other panel is called A World After Harry, and will focus on how the world of Young Adult fiction changed in the wake of Potter and how to navigate it.
YA writers Sarah J. Maas (SDCC special guest, author of Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses series), Laini Taylor (Strange the Dreamer), Jessica Cluess (A Shadow Bright and Burning), Gena Showalter (Firstlife), Thomas E. Sniegoski (Savage), and Soman Chainani (The School for Good and Evil) engage in a rousing discussion of the joys and challenges of crafting fantastical narratives that stand on their own and how the genre has evolved moderated by Tobie Easton (Emerge).
Lucky fans attending the event will also be able to get their hands on a Fantastic Beasts themed jumbo bag! The official SDCC bags are getting an interactive update this year, as they’ll be equipped with the Blippar app, which allows fans to access “an interactive, augmented reality experience.” For more information and to view some of the awesome designs, head on over here.
