Alison Sudol Talks Queenie’s Unique Powers, Plus Dumbledore’s Return?
Now that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is getting closer, we are getting new information rapidly before the film hits theaters in November.
Earlier this afternoon, we learned Queenie (Alison Sudol) has a magical ability we’ve never seen before. It was already revealed she is a Legilimens, but it seems her powers are different than what has previously been revealed to us in the Potter series.
According to Sudol,
She’s basically a complete and utter magical empath. She’s able to read people — so it’s not just reading somebody’s thoughts. She can read into someone’s story, she can see people’s goals. […] so even though she’s able to do magic with her wand, a lot of her magic is actually internal, which makes her a different type of wizard or witch. And she’s incredibly fun, playful, joyful, […] free-spirited, kind and wise, and also has a sort of stillness about her because she’s always tuning into people, so she’s quite an interesting character to play — very vivacious and lively, yet very centered and aware.

In addition, it’s possible we may see a young Albus Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts sequel, set to open in November of 2018!
Director David Yates teased that a familiar character from the Potter series would return in Fantastic Beasts.
Yates shared,
There is a mention of some characters that we know and love from previous movies, but we only talk about them fleetingly. In the next movie, part two, we’ll get to meet one of them in a significant way. He’s much younger than he used to be, but he’ll be coming back.
Since Dumbledore is mentioned in the trailer, we can only assume it’s him! You can read more of the interview with Reuters here.
