“Cursed Child” Director John Tiffany Picks Up Award!
Love it or hate it, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has caused a storm in the West End. From launching actors like Anthony Boyle (Scorpius Malfoy) and Sam Clemmett (Albus Potter), who have both received wide acclaim for their portrayals, to breaking box office records, the play has given us lots to talk about. Anthony recently won an award for Best West End Debut, and Sonia Friedman, the producer of Cursed Child, came tenth on a list of London’s Most Influential People 2016. It’s safe to say that the work the cast and crew have done with the play has been well received and recognized.
Now, it’s director John Tiffany ‘s turn to get the spotlight. At the Attitude Magazine 2016 Awards, which took place last week, Tiffany was awarded the Cultural Award, celebrating his work with Cursed Child.
On reflecting on the type of work he’s attracted to, Tiffany said,
I’m attracted to people who are ostracised because of who they are or who they are perceived as being.

Congratulations, John!
