J.K. Rowling Brings Us All the Christmas Feels
It’s Christmas Eve. All over the world, people are celebrating the holiday season. Family and friends gather together, honoring traditions passed down through generations, sharing them with new generations, or perhaps creating new traditions that will some day be passed down.
For every joyful gathering, however, there are those who are far from their loved ones or whose holidays just aren’t what they should be, for a variety of reasons.
In a series of 12 tweets, J.K. Rowling has offered words of kindness, caring, and hope to those who may not be having such a wonderful holiday.
I’ve had so many lovely messages wishing me a merry Christmas. Thank you! 1/12

At this time of year, we’re bombarded with images of perfect lives, which bear as little relation to reality as tinsel does to gold. 3/12

❄️☃️✨? Merry Christmas! ?✨☃️❄️

Rowling’s words remind us that our lives as we know them now can change in an instant. No matter what we celebrate, how we celebrate, or who we celebrate with, we are never alone. There are others who feel what we feel, happy or sad, and even if we are all alone, we are together in that, too.
Wherever you are, whatever your life may be now, better days lie ahead of you. As a wise professor once said,
Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
– Albus Dumbledore
From all of us to all of you – Merry Christmas!
