Where Is Newt Going? #MagicInProgress Leaves Us Guessing!
Production for the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel is in full swing, and it seems they are giving us a little taste of what’s to come with a snapshot of a travel application for one Newt Scamander.

What exactly are we looking at? Well, let’s dig in, shall we?
Clearly, Mr. Scamander is gearing up to go on another trip. It doesn’t tell us where, but with his reason for visit listed as “personal,” we’re willing to bet he’s going to visit a certain brown-haired beauty in New York. (Maybe to give her a copy of his new book?) Or maybe he’s headed to Paris since we’ve previously seen confirmation that the film will be shooting there.
In red ink, it says,
Ministry of Magic Denial Code: 28915/11/29
Subject uncooperative and evasive on reasons for last trip
We know, of course, the reason for the last trip was to bring his beloved Thunderbird, Frank, back to his original habitat. He certainly didn’t want everyone knowing he had a suitcase full of creatures!
Trying to decipher the handwriting is a bit tricky, but it looks to me like his information is as follows:
Name of Applicant: Newt Scamander
Nationality: British
Address: 9 Sherringford (?) Square, London, SE11
Date of Birth: February 24, 1897
Profession or Occupation: Magizoologist
So Newt is 30 in the Fantastic Beasts sequel, which is set in 1927. We can’t quite make out the address, but Sherringford comes close. It’s not a real address in London, however. Perhaps it’s a magical address, somewhat like Grimmauld Place?
Some interesting tidbits of his listed appearance: His eyes are listed as blue, which is no surprise, but this application lists his hair as brown, although to us it definitely looks like it has more of a ginger tinge! Looks like that is potentially up for interpretation.
Unfortunately, the photo cuts off right above immediate family members (of course). While we do know he has an older brother, Theseus, (who will be portrayed by Callum Turner), we’d love to know more!
What do you think about this reveal from the set? Where could Newt be going? Let us know in the comments below!
