Rowling's thoughts of the trio at press conference in 2000

In a press conference back in 2000, producer David Heyman read a note from J.K. Rowling sharing her thoughts on the casting of Dan Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as the trio.

WB has released a new video of the press conference to promote the Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets Ultimate Collector's editions.

"Having seen Dan Radcliffe's screen test, I don't think Chris Columbus could have found a better Harry. I am also delighted to see that we're going to have a screen Ron and Hermione who can bicker as if they'd been doing it all their lives. Chris's choice of three wonderful British actors for the leading roles shows how well he understands the spirit of these books. I wish Dan, Emma, and Rupert the very best of luck, and hope they have as much fun acting the first year at Hogwarts as I had writing it," Rowling said.
