Video of 'Hand, Foot, and Wand' ceremony
Video of 'Hand, Foot, and Wand' ceremony Yesterday at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson were honored at the "Hand, Foot, and Wand" ceremony. The trio had their hands, feet, and even wands pressed into the cement at the theatre's forecourt. Check out a video of this here.

Posted by LindaW Jul 10th 2007

They are all so adorable! They were all so nervous it was so cute. =]

Posted by mrs_weasley Jul 10th 2007

Wow, that's cool! Emma's dress was incredibly short though!:P xx

Posted by wut_the_336 Jul 10th 2007

That was so cool! It made me happy that they've come so far! i mean, they're no Marilyn Monroes, but they deserve the same honor. ~wut_the_336

Posted by bEtHyBoP13 Jul 10th 2007

awwww i'm so chuffed that they got to do that cuz they deserve it!

Posted by codeone Jul 10th 2007

In response to the comments regarding them being forever known as... because of the wand imprints: The reason they were asked to do this was because of their Harry Potter roles and its phenomenon in general - the wand imprint illustrates that point - they weren't asked because of their individual acting credentials - don't get me wrong I love the trio and hope they have long successful acting careers beyond Harry Potter, they deserved this honor for the time and effort they've put into these movies, but Grauman's is a record of our pop culture history and Harry, Ron and Hermione were officially inducted yesterday. That said the ceremony brought tears to my eyes and Dan's comments regarding the ceremony on the tonight show last night were just wonderful.

Posted by wut_the_336 Jul 10th 2007

they really deserve it! that's so awesome! I wish I was there!

Posted by Laewin Jul 10th 2007

I don't think that Dan necessarily doesn't want to be known for Harry Potter. The trio all owe a debt to the films for bringing them to stardom, and they certainly must respect their fantastic work, which has taken them so far.

Posted by Ameeface Jul 10th 2007

I think it's good that the wands are there. They aren't going to 'tie them to the roles' whatsoever. It's celebrating the fact that they were so amazing in the Harry Potter films, and I'm certain that they will be in the next two. It's a good idea because it reminds them and fans exactly where they came from - wherever they branch off to, the most influential experiences in their lives will come from Harry Potter. Harry Potter is the roots of their acting career and it brought them into the business. It's an amazing thing to be creditted with. Anyways, congratulations Dan, Emma and Rupert. They definitely deserve it and I hope they do actually do well in the future.

Posted by I_Love_Muggles Jul 10th 2007

Yeah, they TOTALLY deserve it! This is so awesome! Even though they're British stars and everything. I wish I could have been there!

Posted by cherrykiss314 Jul 10th 2007

This is amazing! And, to think that they don't deserve it yet because of just Harry Potter is a lie... they've done 5 big time movies, and they've worked darn hard on them. Congrats to the three of them! (And how cute was that Rupert and Emma hug? I love how close they all are!)

Posted by Slytherin15 Jul 10th 2007

that is soooooo cool. good for them!! i wish i was there. that would be like soooooo cool!

Posted by reader Jul 10th 2007

It was so cool

Posted by Cemicool Jul 10th 2007

AWESOME! What I wouldn't have given to have been there(screaming..^_^) but seriously, they DID actually deserve and hey just look so HAPPY doing it. Everytime Dan or Rupert spoke, it'd be "AAAAAHHHH!!!!". The wand thing was ineteresting, but in a way good, it's a reminder of the reason they were put on the Walk Of Fame anyway, because of HP...but REALLY because of JKR, they owe JKR a lot!! Lol, but seriously, another way Harry Potter is going down in history!

Posted by mugglewhomp Jul 10th 2007

That's awesome that they got to have this done to them. They deserve it. But why didn't they just take their shoes off instead of wearing shoes? :]

Posted by hermionerubin Jul 10th 2007

OMG!!!! that's so cool!!! wish i had been there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!! can't wait 'till the movie and the book!!!!!!

Posted by ashurlito Jul 10th 2007

it'll be funny if they fell in the cement but shouldnt they have done this when harry potter was over??!

Posted by lovexlaugh_potter Jul 10th 2007

squeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Posted by dark_nymph Jul 10th 2007

That was very nice, and it was good to see them so excited about it. I totally agree with Ameeface- I think that it was a good idea to do wand imprints. And I don't think that any of them are necessarily trying to get away from their image as the Harry Potter trio- I think they just want to be able to do other things. And because of the amazing talent they have shown in all of the films, this not only seems possible, but very probable. P.S: Right now I am feeling simultaneously excited and frustrated. This is because I work every darn night for the rest of the week and won't be able to see OotP until Saturday:( The agony! Ah well. I'm sure that it'll be worth the wait!

Posted by PotterGeek731 Jul 10th 2007

thats cool

Posted by Quidditch_Queen Jul 10th 2007

I'll clarify on what I said earlier about the wand imprints. I wasn't really clear. I didn't mean to say that Dan doesn't want to be known for Harry Potter, he has just expressed that he doesn't want to always be known as Harry. He want's to branch out and do other work. Child actors have to be careful to branch out enough and get themselves out there in other roles. I understand why they did the wand imprints. It's what they are know for now and probably what they will be most known for, it's just interesting to me that they would want to forever iconize themselves for that. It seems to be hitting the peak a bit too soon. Dan has done other things, but everyone still knows him as Harry. Like I said... it's just my two cents.

Posted by ronlvr133 Jul 10th 2007

they totally deserve it! im so happy for them! :D i love all 3 of them so much [not in that way. lol] and it's great they got it! great job!

Posted by Patronus_Potter Jul 10th 2007

oh my gosh it looked amazing!! im so jealous of everyone who went!!

Posted by nearly_headless_nick Jul 10th 2007

Great video, it's great to see the little details, For example, I noticed Dan always wants Emma and Rupert to feel included. If someone is going to take a pic, he takes them so all of them will be on the pic. He talks to Emma, when she looks so nervous, and makes her laugh, and after that she seems more confortable. He keeps talking with Rupert all the time, and makes him laugh, Dan pats him on the back when he needs some support, and whispers things to Emma too. Daniel is a gentleman, very generous and a genuine good person. They deserve this, because with all their success, they remain humble and nice.

Posted by loonyLuna01 Jul 10th 2007

i think i agree with Quidditch_Queen 4 when she was talking about the wands...but you know...it's really cool that the are recognized anyway! Wow...alot of people were screaming!

Posted by rggr9728 Jul 10th 2007

They deserve it! :)

Posted by ybnormal Jul 10th 2007

I was there to witness this event..... I must say all three seemed genuinely humble and sweet. Daniel was great with the fans. Emma was the so sweet and cute. Rupert was the one that seemed to want to get to every fan, stood signing autographs much longer, takings tons of pictures with fans, looking up at the fans, smiling, chatting and giving out many hugs. I love all of them equally, but I must admit that Rupert is now my overall favorite. They deserve everything they get. Not only are they great actors, most importantly, they are great people. And I am happy that I got to witness that yesterday.

Posted by savvy_weasley Jul 10th 2007

Hehe, I was there! It was really cool to see them do that. I did, however, find it a little sad that they had to have people help them push their hands and feet further into the cement... :sigh: Oh well! It's a very cool thing that they got to do and it's truly well-deserved! Congrats to the trio!

Posted by mreyes2006 Jul 10th 2007

omg. this was wonderful to see!! hp forever and ever exactly as it should be!! i dont know about you guys, but i cried almost the whole time during this clip!

Posted by loona Jul 10th 2007

How cool! Good for them. The wand imprints don't bother me, btw, because Harry Potter got them started. While they may branch out and do other things that they are equally famous for, we will always hold a place for them in our hearts as the trio.

Posted by obsessedpotterfan Jul 10th 2007

Now I really can't wait until tomorrow when I go to see it at IMAX. Dan didn't know the shoes were going to the Museum. ha ha

Posted by muggl3tt3 Jul 10th 2007

I have been looking for this clip! thanks mugglenet =)

Posted by xoharrypotterxo Jul 10th 2007

aww its great for them to be honnered after all their success in the movies!

Posted by darklordangel Jul 10th 2007

yep, they definitely deserve it

Posted by jazzmaze24 Jul 10th 2007

As a fan, I congratulate them and am extremely proud of them. It was humbling to see Dan and Emma at a loss for words, considering they usually give novel-length answers when interviewed. But I think those pointing out the whole wand thing are just not really thinking. I don't think they should be (or are) ashamed or embarrassed by this past. I think it is completely possible for them to branch out, Harrison Ford did it and Natalie Portman has created a great career. Elijah Wood is another example as well. I think that Dan, Rupert, and Emma all have the power and ability to continue to succeed in this industry and create great films and line of work; but I think this symbolizes the beginning of all three of their bright careers, and that they should never forget it. I think the way Mickey Mouse has his own, the wands are a way of also commemorating Harry, Ron, and Hermione, without the waste of another block. I applaud them all. Lovely speech by David Heyman, by the way.

Posted by duckyz713 Jul 10th 2007

They seem so nice and NORMAL. I know they don't want to be remembered as the Harry Potter trio, but it would be hard to not think of 'Harry Potter' whenever I hear 'Daniel Radcliffe'...so I think it's fine that they included the wands. It makes their...slab of concrete...unique!

Posted by Fawnie Jul 10th 2007

Oh my, oh my. I've grown up with the films, pretty much, and it has been amazing to see them grow up. I can not believe they have come this far, getting their hand prints and everything on the Walk of Fame. My eyes are filled with tears and I'm just very proud of them. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson are my favorite actors. I just love how natural they are. Congratulations to our special trio! Peace.

ahahaha cool!

Posted by talley Jul 10th 2007

Okay I just have to comment on some others comments. This being the 5th movie with two to follow, the Harry Potter movies are bigger than any other franchise. The movies worldwide are megahits. For years even if they stopped right now making more of the movies people will see and know them. The robots from Star Wars got their uhmm prints are also set in cement there. They got them I think after the first one, so the trio certainly deserve this honor. All people need help with putting whatever they are putting in the cement. The cement is not "fresh" it's slightly set so not to be too gooey. To get a clear imprint the people who run it know what pressure needs to be applied. Like most things, it's not as easy as it looks to be. Whew. Just had to get that off my chest.
