Possibility of 'Deathly Hallows' being sold early
Possibility of 'Deathly Hallows' being sold early It has emerged that some book stores in the UK are not required to keep a written agreement preventing them from selling Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows before its release next Friday.

"It's quite possible one will break the embargo," says Katherine Rushton from The Bookseller magazine. "They'd do it to be first, and for all the PR."

Bloomsbury replied saying that there is "no reason to believe anyone would want to ruin the excitement. If such a thing were to happen, we believe that the public would make their feelings known by not buying it from such a spoilsport retailer. [However] it is our intention to vigorously enforce the embargo if required."

The spoilers are coming, the spoilers are coming! *ducks and hides*. I've already seen some MORON post full images of the chapter titles from the book and the chapter art of the US edition for a certain chapter. Yeah, with one week left and the spoilers begining to pop up, I think it's time for LOCKDOWN MODE. See you all after Deathly Hallows.

dont do it!!!!!!

Posted by Talons Jul 13th 2007

NOT COOL!!!

Posted by HpAlwaysN4ever Jul 13th 2007

That is NOT FAIR!

Posted by funglu Jul 13th 2007

I think that anyone screaming "unfair" on this string would be the first one in line to buy it if it came out early; who is kidding who. I don't really care if someone gets the book tow or three weeks or month before I do as long as I am in the dark as to the major plot lines. If these places want the publicity and a piece of the billions, go for it. Just don't spoil the story. And people, quit being so sanctimonious. Admit to the jealousy that you may have that someone might just have the book in their dirty little paws before you. Enjoy the book, be true to being a great fan and don't spoil the story.

Posted by harrypotter_rox Jul 13th 2007

why would they do that? are they trying to ruin all the excitement ? Besides, that is not respectful to Jo.

" If such a thing were to happen, we believe that the public would make their feelings known by not buying it from such a spoilsport retailer."............Shy eah! My arse! LOL!

Posted by Gryffindor_Rawr Jul 13th 2007

I Wuldnt Buy It Even If It Did Cum Out! Its Terrbile They Wanna Sell It Early - J.K Chose To Release It Then && Sum1 (They Cant B A True Hp Fan) Wants To Release It Beforehand? No Way. If Any Stores Do They, They Are So Getting Boycotted.

Posted by SnapeIsHawt Jul 13th 2007

Thanks for agreeing to join my protest :) I'm such a true hardcore fan and have been for seven/eight years. I've grown up alongside them and learnt so much from them! If someone spoils it, I'll personally do whatever it takes to catch a bus or train down to where they live, tie them up and throw them off a building. They need to feel pain - physical and emotional. I'm not being the devil here, but that's how I'd feel. Luckily, I don't live in London or known places where people have been know to blab out who dies and whatnot, so I'll know I'm surely safe in the line. I'm taking my brother's iPod just in case though ... It's best to be safe than sorry. If anyone else if a hardcore fan like myself, you'll relate to how I feel. I mean, yes, it's sort of funny in the aftermath after you've read the book, logged onto YouTube and find out a video where a little tosser is shouting out who dies to the people waiting excitedly in line. But before that we've always wanted to be alone to find out who dies, shed a few tears (or howl like J.K.) and try and find your smile again before stepping into the muggle world again, where you've been trying so hard to avoid spoilers. Let's just hope we've learnt from the messages that the precious books have given us and be good people. We all know that only true Harry Potter fans wont give in to temptation.

WHAT?!

Posted by Rowena_R Jul 13th 2007

Ick!! The sad thing is that people WILL buy it! Pffft. That's really lame.

Posted by bry1663 Jul 13th 2007

I hate Bloomsbarry!!! I did not order my book from there. they should just wait like every one else.

Posted by The_Debster Jul 13th 2007

Not fair and not cool. This is how the whole thing gets ruined for people who are trying to avoid spoilers. I’m going to plead with anyone if they do get the book early, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not randomly post spoilers without strong spoiler warning first. I had HBP ruined for me by somebody who posted spoilers without any warning, simply because they wanted to be the first, and reading the book just wasn’t the same so please be considerate and don’t ruin the experience for fellow fans.

Posted by toast10 Jul 13th 2007

if i saw it sittin on a shelf, i wuld buy it but i wuld neva spoil it 4 any 1

Posted by asleep_at_the_moment Jul 13th 2007

having music in my ears is a champion idea. i never thought of that. thanks. just need to buy some blinkers too... the last ten years have been building to this moment. the rest of my life just wouldnt be good if some prat gives away the ending

Posted by btownhockey44 Jul 13th 2007

I'm not gonna lie, if i get the book delivered early i'm definitely reading it as soon as it gets here. But theres NO way i would ever post spoilers, because what's the point in ruining it for someone else? anybody who does post spoilers is just someone who doesnt give a darn about the book and just wants people to get pissed off.

Posted by sirius_lee Jul 13th 2007

evry1 who reads it WILL be a spoiler. y cant u just wait till its out? dont u luv the countdown?? wut about the people who preordered it be4 and now some people get it first? NOT COOL>

Posted by snuffles101 Jul 13th 2007

Ahhhh it can't be spoiled. That'd be... just no. No spoilers. If the book gets out early I'm abandoning the internet and tv and probably the phone until I'm done. They wouldn't... they couldn't do that. It's the last book. No... Jo would have a cow... They wouldn't...

Posted by obsessedpotterfan Jul 13th 2007

I don't want my precious book spoiled. But, in the few days leading up to the release, I'm going to release myself from all Harry Potter related news.

Posted by PotterLove06 Jul 13th 2007

to tell the truth, i would probably buy it earlier if i could, even though that would spoil the excitement. sorry, but im being honest. if today lets say i stumbled upon a bookstore selling Deathly Hallows, Hell yeah I'm going to buy it!!

Posted by XxLaLaxX Jul 13th 2007

I can't believe this. Its really unfair on all those fans (of which i am one) who have preordered their books for the OFFICIAL date of release. More importantly, it is a huge insult to Jo and all her hard work, just so they can get to say they sold it first. One of the most special things about the harry potter series is how it brings everyone together from all over the world, and i think it's really cool that everyone will basically read the books at the same time. I urge these shops to stick to the official release date. If not, the only 'publicity' they will end up getting is negative.

Posted by SPEW07 Jul 13th 2007

lemme say i wouldn't read it but i would ether buy it and just start at it and giggle or id go into the store and spend hours just looking at it and as a response to someone shipping question.....they already have the books at the mail station but they cannot deliver them to us until the 21st.......i talked the my mail lady

Posted by weasleyredhead21 Jul 13th 2007

i dont want my book spoiled so everyone should stop saying that so and so will die. just find out when the book comes out. everyone should get the book around the same time (JULY 21 ((my birthday)), just so its fair.

Posted by DDsGalThru_an_thru Jul 13th 2007

Here's the ending!! Dear my brothers, Voldemort killed Hermione. Yes, that's true. And we knew that 2 days ago. This is the end of the not yet published (someone could call that 0day) book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows . At the end of the story Hagrid was killed by Snape in the attempt of ambush Hermione and Ron. Ron and Hermione flees in privet drive but Voldermort, surprising them, engaged a magical duel with Ron and Hermione. Voldemort attacked trough the imperius curse and Hermione, to protect the life of Ron fight hardly for more than 6 pages and then finally die. (boring, very boring... it's always the same story!) Then, to make a long story short, Harry came up, killed all the bad guys and Hogwarts against became a good place to stay and have fun. Ah, i missed one important information about Draco Malfoy, he started to create Horcrux (for fun and profit!). The end.

Posted by weasleyredhead21 Jul 13th 2007

DDsGalThru_an_thru: okay why would you post that? considering that this story was not about what do you think happens at the end of book 7, it clearly said that this was about the book being sold early.

Posted by sirius_lee Jul 13th 2007

DDsGalThru_an_thru- HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD U THAT THEORY S MESSED AND TO STOP POSTING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS JUST NOOT GONNA HAPPEN

Posted by lizzie_is_the_best Jul 13th 2007

well i think i'd probably get it if it came out on the friday, it just suits me schedual better because i've got a party on the saturday and i will have no time to read it :S. also i bet it'll be asda the supermarket, their always trying to get publicity, they sold the book for less than half price when the last one came out in a price war, i think they'd do something like this. anyne know a release party near southampton?

Posted by randomchat Jul 13th 2007

Isn't the book out on Saturday? Or you mean Midnight Friday?

Posted by SnapeIsHawt Jul 13th 2007

DDsGalThru_an_thru - Who the hell do you think you are?! Dumbledore's girl through and through my ass. More like Voldemort's devil through and through. >:( If that had been true, I'd have fudge killed you by now. At least we're getting to know who aren't true Harry Potter fans.

Posted by moovilla Jul 13th 2007

YAY COMMENT 80!!!!! or 81? anyways. listening right now. i heart mugglecast.

Posted by sirius_lee Jul 13th 2007

SnapeIsHawt- u tell her, her theorise r soooo screwed!

Posted by tor Jul 13th 2007

This is CRAZY! I will not even be tempted to buy one. I've seen some people saying 'shutdown' mode...sounds good to me!

Posted by goldenboyss19 Jul 13th 2007

why arent they required to keep a written agreement? every other store has to... i dont really care, just as long as it doesnt get spoiled, and i dont think it will, partly because this is only possible in the UK. i cant believe its a week away!! i cant remember looking forward to anything more than this book

Posted by anvilsized Jul 13th 2007

That would be horrible! Glad I'm not in the UK. (not that there's anything wrong with people in the UK. I just dont want it to be spoiled)

Posted by Naush Jul 13th 2007

I think I owe JK Rowling to wait till 21st July 2007.

Posted by moovilla Jul 13th 2007

i agree. those theories were ridiculous. wow. next friday night. and this will probably be the last book release ill ever go to. i cant even begin to imagine a book serise greater than this.

Posted by sirius_lee Jul 13th 2007

its possible in UK and i live in canada and so im not gonna get it and people will spoil it! whoevr does WILL die!!!!!!!^=^

Posted by tor Jul 13th 2007

SnapeIsHawt-You are like the leader of this 'discussion' and I salute you. :)

Posted by starchick93 Jul 13th 2007

for me im going into a state of whats the word, amishness (sp?). no tv, internet, phone (except with my fellow hp luver friends), radio or anything that could possibly ruin Deathly Hallows for a week until the book comes out. and i swear, whoever ruins it for me is going to pay!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by LTSprite Jul 13th 2007

ummmm....that would kinda suck! The ending would be spoiled and spread everywhere!! There are plenty of jerks out there who wanna spoil everything just for a good laugh.

Posted by Cooper2085 Jul 13th 2007

Out of interest the guy at the top here said the chapter titles had been released.... Where?

Posted by SnapeIsHawt Jul 13th 2007

Awww, thank you. :) I'm touched, lol. I like saying what's on my mind, 'cause if people didn't do that - how would the troublemakers learn? I personally think we should snap these peoples' wands in half and send them off to do magically community service for the rest of their lives. Howlers are an acception. ;) The more the merrier.

Posted by axlgirl Jul 13th 2007

WHAT!! I demand to know the name of this book store.. I'm going to torch the ****ing place....

Posted by tor Jul 13th 2007

Posted by christianaeg Jul 13th 2007

AH! NO SPOILERS PLEASE!!! *fingers in ears lol* LALALALALALALA... can't hear spoilers...... I really think it's a good idea for MuggleNet to shut down the comments and forums and stuff for a couple of days around the book launch too.... Why would they sell early??????? 99% of the people on here say they wouldn't get it! most people are planning protests! I wonder if they think it will sell out or they just want to spoil it... money grubbers...

Posted by axlgirl Jul 13th 2007
