JK Rowling: "Preserve the secrecy"
JK Rowling: JK Rowling has made a small update to her official website asking everyone who "calls themselves a Potter fan" to help keep the plot of Deathly Hallows from being spoiled:

We are almost there! As launch night looms, let's all, please, ignore the misinformation popping up on the web and in the press on the plot of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I'd like to ask everyone who calls themselves a Potter fan to help preserve the secrecy of the plot for all those who are looking forward to reading the book at the same time on publication day. In a very short time you will know EVERYTHING!

We, of course, support Jo's statement and ask all of our visitors to avoid spreading information about Deathly Hallows in our comments. With the book release being less than three days away, there's no point in spoiling it now.

Instead, talk about the latest episode of SpongeBob or perhaps the upcoming Hairspray film. If you need any other topic ideas, please e-mail i need something better to do than spoil the book for everyone three days prior to the release@staff.mugglenet.com.

P.S. Those of you who posted the spoilers from the internet, you are scum!!! Regardless what you think, IT IS STEALING!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are stealing from Jo, Scholastic, Bloomsbury, and fans everywhere. A purpose for release dates is to control crowds, avoid spoiling, and to protect copywritten material. I am not going to lie, I have read the crap that is floating around the internet and honestly, I don't believe any of it. It just makes me more excited for Saturday and makes me feel sorry for those who want to ruin it. It just shows how weak you truely are.

BETHYBOP13: i too, i love your enthusiasm at posting comments, there is nothing that shows your opinion more than a good old "i"

Posted by dailyrev Jul 18th 2007

Now kiddies, why don't you all relax and take stock. Let me help you: your generation will, most likely, be responsible for cleaning up the mess that my generation left you--global warming, genocide, war without end, nuclear winter a hair's breadth away--and that's just the worst of it. If you think your life will be "spoiled" by knowing the outcome of a fictional plot two days ahead of time, then you have no idea what "spoiled" really means. But in another decade or two, you'll find out...

my last comment was supposed to say i

DAILEYREV: i am no kiddie young skywalker, i shall cover the sun with velvet, brainwash people who create genocide and form peace treaties, and destroy nuclear weapons, then i will give everyone cheesecake and forgive them for their terrrible crimes.

GO JKR!!!! finally, someone more important then scholastic is taking a stand! i have watched/read things that CLAIM 2 have info on the last book, but i'm, like, positive that it's not true! this is from one of the "spoilers": (this is most definitely NOT true bcus 1 of the people involved is someone that JKR has confirmed is DEAD and is NOT coming back!) sirius comes back to life and him and Ginny get married! that is just bull shhh!

Now, I love Mugglenet. I do. And I couldn't believe it when that idiot on the Wall of Shame complained about Mugglenet using its influence to help out Darfur, a cause I've been working for myself. And the ads on pages are well and good - they keep the site running, and they probably give a bit of income to those who work so hard on the site, the senior staff. But honestly... giving us random links to Hairspray and Spongebob is just going over the top. Mugglenet, I love you, but if advertising has nothing to do with your articles, keep it out. And for goodness sake, keep your integrity.

Posted by Ruby_321 Jul 18th 2007

im not even gonna read the paper now because for the release of HBP it got spoiled and the same paper today had printed chapter titles... i rly hope it does't get spoiled coz it must b devestating for Jo who put all the work in to find its been poseted on the internet and it certainly devestates fans...

Posted by vickilind Jul 18th 2007

I join the other true Potter fans and will do all I can to stop all spoilers! stay away from the sites that purport to have them; when CoS re-opens, mind the rules and keep it safe for those who may not have finished reading the book! Thank you Mugglenet and CoS for keeping us safe!! You Rock!!

Posted by bEtHyBoP13 Jul 18th 2007

"We are almost there! As launch night looms, let's all, please, ignore the misinformation popping up on the web and in the press on the plot of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." So the spoilers we've been getting really aren't true? YAY! =D

I think spongebob is a metaphor to the decrease in morality we see in everyday television. Constently we see spongebob giving into imoral temptetions, constastly we see him being swayed by the less intellegent (Patrick), the More Intellegent (Sandy), the greedy (Mr. Crabbs), or the Evil/Bad (Squidworth). And yet, there in himself lies hope yet. For every episode he turns the situation around, by using the same debauncry first applied. Unless of coruse, it was himself who caused it, then the situation ususally just ends worst state then it started, sort of like what happens when you screw up and try to cover up without comming clean and seeking help.

Posted by SaphyreRavenclaw Jul 18th 2007

I kinda want Mugglenet to shut down the comments untill a couple of days after the realrease. That would help slow/stop the spoilers tremendously.

Posted by deathly Jul 18th 2007

What has happened to all ya people? I mean, u are always talking bout spilers! Haven't u read the book? OH ya I forgot. U know i am know the whole plot. Actually snape's wand also has a pheonix feather from Fawkes. So the wands of harry and snape combine and form one hell of huge wand and they defeat Vol...You know who. Meanwhile, the two characters............... ....................Just joking!

Posted by bEtHyBoP13 Jul 18th 2007

spongebob rocks :D

Posted by HarryandGinnyforlife Jul 18th 2007

So... are the spoilers fake? The one's we've been hearing from the fake book? I mean, people didn't get their books until yesterday, and the spoilers have been around longer than that. Can anyone tell me if they think they're real or not?

i was able to see a spoiler that a friend emailed me, but i never for once thought it was real. 1st all we know we arent getting introduced to new people though the situation harry and this new guy are referring to MAYBE true. i still dont think its a genuine spoiler. but aside from saying this i havent opened my mouth about it and if i run into anything else i sure as hell wont tell everyone else. Jo and Mugglenet the secret is safe with me. im like everyone else i dont want it spoiled for me either. JUST WAIT D@MN IT!!!!!

whats wrong with you deathly, looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the rock. and didn't drink any coffee

Posted by JJ171539 Jul 18th 2007

gagandeep I am fudge tired of dumbasses like yourselves who always tell people not to spoil the book. There is a reason why there is a red message on top of this page that tells us we can post details from deathly hallows. Why doesn't your faggot ass actually read it and that goes for everyone else.

Posted by SaphyreRavenclaw Jul 18th 2007

I don't know about the monkey part but sure....*rips tongue*

Andrew you kill me! HAHA! Cheers to Jo and to Mugglenet! DON'T SPOIL THIS BOOK!!!!

Posted by deathly Jul 18th 2007

Yeah sure! rob. Now mind ur language or i m going to leak the DH plot and u wont find a coffee or rock to cry on. So just shut up. Meanwhile, gagandeep, u sure have a right to think deep bout ur language or rips tongue! oops

Posted by mrspadfoot Jul 18th 2007

The 'leaked book' is a FAKE. Its has a semblance of Rowling's style but it is NOT her work. First of all, there are inconsistencies...'Hermio ne JEAN Granger' and Ron saying...to his MOTHER 'What in the name of Merlin's saggy left--' Also, they have Hermione telling Harry at the beginning of the book that she's obliviated her parent's memory until after the war is over and THEN later in the novel tells him she's never done a memory charm. It is NOT real. Can't be. Jo is NOT sloppy about the details or her writing. I want a happy ending, just like everyone else, but this leak copy is not it. There is a way to write 'and they all lived happily ever after' and this ain't it, folks! Trust JO. She knows what she's doing and even if we don't get an ending we want, we'll get one that is well thought out and makes sense. TRUST JO!!! Smooch! Tee
