JK Rowling: "Preserve the secrecy"
JK Rowling has made a small update to her official website asking everyone who "calls themselves a Potter fan" to help keep the plot of Deathly Hallows from being spoiled:We are almost there! As launch night looms, let's all, please, ignore the misinformation popping up on the web and in the press on the plot of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I'd like to ask everyone who calls themselves a Potter fan to help preserve the secrecy of the plot for all those who are looking forward to reading the book at the same time on publication day. In a very short time you will know EVERYTHING!
We, of course, support Jo's statement and ask all of our visitors to avoid spreading information about Deathly Hallows in our comments. With the book release being less than three days away, there's no point in spoiling it now.
Instead, talk about the latest episode of SpongeBob or perhaps the upcoming Hairspray film. If you need any other topic ideas, please e-mail i need something better to do than spoil the book for everyone three days prior to the release@staff.mugglenet.com.

Go Jo! I'm glad she's telling people to keep it secret. It's a good thing. She took a long time to write this series, ten years or something and then people try and ruin it for fans. I bet she's just outraged by all the scans (fake and/or real) and that one company who sent out the books early. She should sue more companies who do this crap. It would serve them right.
16 or 17 years ;). OOh, I just can´t sleep...early waking tomorrow but does that stop me from being up late? No. Have any of you guys by the way seen the film the messengers?? Any Good???
andrew you're so funny. ha. ha.
100% behind you Jo! I can't understand why anyone who considers themself a HP fan would want to see these spoilers - they serve no purpose but to ruin the book that we have waited for a whole decade to read. This is the VERY LAST RELEASE! Every time DH is re-read after July 21st, we will be reading it knowing what happens. Do you really want to have never read DH without knowing what happens? To never have the opertunity to gasp in horror at who dies and spend many hours bumping into things with your nose in the book, just to find out what happens next? Well, do ya? Huh!? I'm trying to avoid reading the comments - just skimming over to make sure I don't end up accidentally reading a spoiler. We've all waited so many years for this, and we only have 2 days to wait until we can hear all the answers straight from Jo herself in the form of the LAST EVER HP book - let's just enjoy these last precious hours of speculation without posting spoilers, and ruining people's last hours of theorising. We need these last two days on the comments boards to wonder and speculate our last theories, not worrying about whether we will be reading spoilers in the comments. We don't have long to wait, and we have to make the most of the time we have left! I'm going to miss all this soooooo much. I love Mugglenet, I love Mugglecast, I love Leaky Mug, I love HP releases, I love Jo, and I LOVE HP!!!! Wow... that's enough love to defeat old Voldy; Maybe that's how love does it - all the world's HP fans rush to Harry's aid with their love of the series and visciously attack Voldemort. Bring it Voldy! lol.
i love andrew.
I LUV JKR.
K8y-I get what you're saying, but, truth be told, the spoilers [scans] got me even more confused about the book, i read them, well half of each one, and then i was just kind of like, "man, i really have no idea what's going on", so i'll still get the feeling your talking about..:)
I think people are over-reacting. "Spoiling" is when you tell someone what happens so that they won't be surprised when they read the book. I agree people should not do that. However, if you are just selling the book early or posting a photo of every page of the book on the internet, you aren't "spoiling" it -- you are just making it available before the official publication date. People who get the book early will do the same thing that you will do on July 21 -- read the book. As long as they don't tell others what happens, then there's no harm done. The July 21 date is just an artificial deadline set by The Establishment to build up hype and suspense. Neither JKR nor the publishers will lose any money just because some people read the book a little early.
HAIRSPRAY
guess who i love?.................... ....Harry Potter beat that[im a girl] actually i dont luv harry potter i'm in luv with him
ok i think some people can be complete idiots and i love jk t and you know how people are always like "i am your BIGGEST FAN" i don't think there is any true biggest fans i mean some might be obbsessive and like stalk her or something but I am one of her most non odd fans!!LOL oo 'W'
Completely agree with Joanovarq. If someone knows that there is a full copy of the book somewhere online but still waits for the release date, good for u, u have more restrain than I do. Since I'm a little too old (21) and mature to start yelling "XX killed YY", and I am going to buy the book anyway since reading books off the screen is hard for the eyes, i dont see how this can harm anyone. My advice to the people waiting faithfully till Saturday and want the experience unspoiled (i'd hate if it had happened to me, i loved the exitement of reading the end of the series): STAY OFF THE NET, or at least Harry Potter sites.
So, I'm pretty sure that no-one at Hogwarts takes showers everyday.
I agree with dark ra i haven't read the book yet though and i hope that the people that put it on the net gets caught but not go to jail that would be way to harsh but maybe get a large fine!!!
Snape marries Hermione and kills Voldemort
my bestie's mum is a librarian, and the library gets the book a couple days in advance, and they have to be mondo careful with the novel, but she got to touch the book already! i'm quite jealous. but the point of this comment is that some of the other librarians have been reading the book, even though they're not supposed to. so basically, let's all be really careful to just not listen to anyone who knows anything about the book, because i have not waited this long for the book just to get it spoilt by some jerk.
what the hell does spoilers snape mean and to klepto i have no idea what so ever you mean and i agree with ferret go bounce
So, uh, in the last edition of, uh, SPONGEBOB, that would be SPONGEBOB and the NAUTICAL Hallows, Spongebob and Plankton end up dueling it off, but Plankton has uh, Man Ray on his side, and Spongebob has Sandy, with whom he recently fell in love with, on his side, and uh, Spongebobs love for Sandy and Sandy's love for Spongebob end up winning, and Spongebob's scar goes away. With hair spray.
what does darkra mean bye saying nothing?? lol
Um...going out on a limb here, but I think the rotten SOB's that scanned the book and put it out on the internet are NOT actual Harry Potter fans. Same goes for all the folks putting spoilers on the comments. If you were a true fan, you wouldn't do it. Period. I am SO hoping that what little bit I've seen isn't true.
ok the SOB that was talking about SPONGEBOB i a total idiot any way hermione isn't in love with harry JK said it so herself she is in love with RON and harry loves GINNY
-to Tenorspaz. While I agree that anyone spreading spoilers deserves a cruel mutilation by train, I dont agree about the fellow that scanned the book and put it on the net. Sure it's illigal, but so is mp3 and movie downloads. Internet is the last totally free place left.
why am i the one that is talking?????????????????? ????????????????????????? ????????????????????????? ????????????????????????? ????????????????????????? ????????????????????????? ????????????????????????? ????????????????????????? ????????????????????????? ????????????????????????? ????????????????????????? ??????????????????!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i know i have issues
DarkRa: exactly. Anyone who cares enough about Harry Potter to read 300+ scanned grainy photographs of the book is also going to buy the book. So nobody is going to lose any money, especially the publishers or JKR. People who are reading the scanned version are just hard core Potter fans who can't wait until Saturday. The publishers are just mad because someone breached their $20 million super-duper security!
I'm not sure I want to know everything...
i wouldn't exactly call myself "hardcore" At least not now :P I used to be though, 5-6 years before... Been reading the books since the 1st book was translated in greek (my mother language)... thats almost 10 years ago....god I'm old.
ok not to be rude but i am getting so bored and impatient some body talk to me or say i am right or SOMETHING
we luv u jo!!!!!!! and all u freaks wid all ur so called spoilers can jus go stuff ur heads down my toilet.. yay spongebob!!
Mrs_Sirius_Black_18- Hey you are so right you go girl
mate i don't want to be rude or anything, but stop trolling and go smoke some pot... Equally self-destructive but less annoying for the rest of us... In case u wonder what the hell I'm doing here, I have to finish a project and i need a distraction in between the sources else i ll fall asleep.
Mrs_Sirius_Black_18- tought you wanted to have a conversation??????????
amen!! those jerks who took pictures of every page in the book should be ... well... punished! i don't want to know... 2 days!
Those "jerks" didn't force anyone to read the book, and they didnt leaked part-only info or spoilers. In a selfless gesture they gave the book, free of charge, to everyone that wanted to read it. Sure it's illigal, and sure contracts have been breached and blah blah blah, but let's face it, even if some of the people that read the book online won't buy a copy (i find it unlikely) there are clauses on those contracts exactly for these reasons, and JKR or the publishers wont loose a dime. Those "jerks" are heroes imho.

Amen, Jo, Amen!
oh, and by the way.... At the end of the story Hagrid was killed by Snape in the attempt of ambush Hermione and Ron. Ron and Hermione flees in privet drive but Voldermort, surprising them, engaged a magical duel with Ron and Hermione. Voldemort attacked trough the imperius curse and Hermione, to protect the life of Ron fight hardly for more than 6 pages and then finally die. (boring, very boring... it's always the same story!) Then, to make a long story short, Harry came up, killed all the bad guys and Hogwarts against became a good place to stay and have fun. Ah, i missed one important information about Draco Malfoy, he started to create Horcrux (for fun and profit!). The end. *********************** ************************* ************
yeah my friend told me some spoilers, and it really made me mad because she doesn't even read the books! i feel bad for jo... she has been working on these books and especially the finale of it all for about 16 years... all for a couple of d****heads that probably dont even read the books go spoil it for true fans like me that have been looking forward to this friday all summer!
Hey guys how about that spongebob? BOOK RELEASE IN 50 HOURS!!!!!!
Funny how this is posted on here, and mugglenet contradicts themselves two articles after that and posts the NYT review on the darn book. Mugglenet: DONT SPOIL THE BOOK Mugglenet an hour later: HERE READ WHAT NYT HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE BOOK Real smart guys.......real smart.
Yes!...Finaly Jo has said something about all these crappy Spoilers!...I'm now even more EXCITED than before...."In a very short time you will know EVERYTHING!".....Finally! !.....And i think it's unfair that some people are already reading DH!...:( Newspapers have already written a full review of DH!!...Because of all the leaks!!....I will not be tempted to read all those huge spoilers!..."as though i walk to the shadows of DH spoilers, i will eat all the cheesecake i can, for i will not be spoiled." I CAN'T WAIT, 1 DAY LEFT!!!!!! darn! Now where did i put that darn cheesecake??
I love how she said potter fans...I will not be a spoiler..I won't even read them..hehe.
Spoilers just got owned. I'm glad that JKR is aware of the spoiler problem and is trying to get people to cut it out, and also very thankful that there are still places like Mugglenet where I can go and not be spoiled against my will. Hooray for Jo! Hooray for Mugglenet! Hooray for only a few more days!! :)
lol thats funny. i soooooooooooooooo love JKR shes amazing......wow i cant believe its all gonna be over and that like ok im gonna have the most wonderful book in my hands in like 2 days :]]]] AMEN to that.
yesssss, yeeeessssss.....we must bask in the sweetness of holy cheesecake and swim in its cheesey contents, then eat, yes, eat its cakey tasteyness...we will let it course thorough our bodies, casting our random fantasies away...and our enemies will beat us senseless with cats, but we will feel only melted cheesecakeyness and laugh, LAUGH and they will burn, BURN.
dont worry jo... we wont cross over to the dark side. we remain faithful, and when july 21st comes we will be counting down the last seconds in the dead of the nite. STAY AWAY FROM SPOILERS, just another day to go...
It's amazing to think that all this "madness" is over a book (even if it is the best book ever written! lol) Lmao, yeah, Spongebob's cool, let's talk about Spongebob instead!
