Posted by runawaysmile Jul 23rd 2007

wooooot! the book was awesome. i've never read anything that has made me feel half a dozen emotions at once, from crying to laughing..doing both at the same time..it was just really great. =)

Posted by padfootandme Jul 23rd 2007

Wooo!!! My family is responsible for 4 of those books... one for me, my dad, my brother (who is away at college), and my mom. Once we finish, extras are donated to the library. People should really donate extra ones!!! In my library branch alone there are about 1,000 DH books, but 7,000 people on the waiting list!!!

Posted by rthomas1989 Jul 23rd 2007

Very impressive...the book was brilliant!

My favourite book, although I missed many of the aspects from the other books. I loved it. Jo really is amazing. And it hasn't really sunk in that this is the last one yet, that there will be no more of Harry Ron and Hermione's adventures. I'm really going to miss it and sometime, in a few weeks perhaps, it will sneak up on me, the realisation that it's all over. And I expect there will be a large and gaping hole for a while...

i ordered from amazon, not thinking i would get it on the day it came out. yet it still as not come, nevertheless i figured that might happen so i went and picked up myself a copy at the Store. I am very glad i did, finished it in a day and now I am starting it all over again. It is by far the best book i have ever had the pleasure of reading. i love all 7 of them, but before 5 was my fav now this one takes the cake.. JO, u have outdone yourself yet again. i cant wait for the next series from you! so, uhhhhh i got an extra copy.... not really sure what ill do with it, although i may just donate it.

Posted by Jimmer Jul 23rd 2007

I doubt this is a spoiler.... but.... I'm kind of disappointed she didn't tell what all of their professions were. Like all the surviving members in the train station(if you read the book you know who I'm talking about...)

Posted by Magicalme4706 Jul 23rd 2007

not at all surprised my book store usually has maybe 200-250 come for the midnight release give or take a bit more, and the the book store had now atleast 400-500 and the midnight realse and people were buying 3 copys or more... i am kinds woundering if i should buy the books on cd or tape.. but i enjoy reading so much more but it might be fun to her dayle to the voice all animated

Posted by GINAismagical Jul 23rd 2007

Ah, well now 8.3 million people are happier. Or maybe, more sad? It depends I guess, I'm just glad I was one of those 8.3 mil that has the book. GO JKR! Top 50? NEVER, always 400 something. (:

Posted by randompotterfreak87 Jul 23rd 2007

Posted by Zoe Jul 23rd 2007

Best book of the series. I feel so lost that there is no more to come. Like there is something missing. After I finish I didn't know what to do. As usually i am working out wat will happen next. :( oh well things must come to an end. Well Done Jo and thanks for the the books. I can't wait to see how many sold all over the world.

Posted by hpgirl_91 Jul 23rd 2007

ONLY IN THE US!! WOW! JKR is incredible. This is truly a reading revolution!

Posted by JerryBullJ61 Jul 23rd 2007

J.K. Rowling is a true champion. Champions always come out with great efforts in the final run. In Deathly Hallows, JKR, was tremendous. It's hard to believe you could top the previous 6 books, but you did. Kudos and thank you to J K Rowling.

Posted by HarryandGinnyforlife Jul 23rd 2007

I really liked the book. Of course, it didn't really live up to my obsurdly high expectations, but it was great. Of course, all my speculations fell flat, as usual. The book made me cry so much, it's not even funny. And now, I'm crying because there won't be any more -- it's over. We've got two more movies, then no more Potter. I'm depressed. =(

Posted by snoolo Jul 23rd 2007

i don't think that this book was the best. it did not answer quite a few things and now we'll never know. i like ootp then probably hbp after that.

Posted by Se7enEleven21 Jul 23rd 2007

WoW, we almost broke 10 million. J.K. Rowling is so freaking RICH now!

Posted by dracomalfoy_marauderfan Jul 23rd 2007

I adored the book. As others have said, I feel sort of empty and lost (as sad as it may seem) without the Harry Potter books. After I'd finished reading the previous ones I'd just feel accomplished and think it over, wonder when the next one would be out, then move on (except after the fifth one, I loved Sirius!!!). This one . . . I was very content with the entire book, the ending and all, though there were certain bits that upset me, of course (I won't spoil it). Then I woke up on Sunday (technically yesterday now, I guess) and realized it was really over. The book was better than I dreamed it could be, the perfect end to a series that I have fawned over for years and years, but how can someone so obsessed with Harry Potter and his universe move on? *sighs* It's no wonder so many copies were sold, the book is amazing and EVERYONE needs to read it.

Posted by GINAismagical Jul 23rd 2007

to randompotterfreak87 I'm pretty sure you can already order it on barnesandnoble.com, it's like $130.00 or something like that.

Posted by randompotterfreak87 Jul 23rd 2007

Posted by Something_New Jul 23rd 2007

Harry learned quickly not to feel too sorry for the gnomes. He decided just to drop the first one he caught over the hedge, but the gnome, sensing weakness, sank its razor-sharp teeth into Harry's finger and he had a job shaking it off — until — "Wow, Harry — that must've been fifty feet..."
