ok lets get back to why we are here, no more of the insults!! What happened to Snaps Body, I re-read the chapter 3 times and no were is there info on harry using the silver blood of Snapes.. Snape transfered his memory thru the eyes, read OOTP when snape is training Harry. he did not have to use his wand to get into harry mind, and see how upset he was a seeing Lily's death thru harrys eyes, you can see in the movies Snape becoming more worried about Harry. and you can see it when he fights the dragon how worried he is for his safty
Thats great!! i was so sad when the only two people i wanted to live....didn't! uh yeah i cried... alot
hermione5819: i dont understand what you mean.
Josi that was not called for, that isn't what mugglenet is about. Mugglenet is place for fans to gather, for people to learn more of Harry potter, not a place for fans to be put down with childish remarks. that sounded like something my 5 year old would say on a whiny day. People seem to be forgetting everyone has an opinion it is part of what makes us human. I like the color red my huband doesn't do we sit around saying slinging hateful words at each other for it? no. It amazes me that last night I was on with a group of people who were so supportive of each others feelings, yes we had some different opinions but we were respectful to each other.
I'm sorry Hannah, I posted that before I saw what she typed. Josi you should be ashamed, you two-faced hag.
http://www.cbc.ca/news/yo urview/2007/07/what_do_yo u_think_of_the_final.html This is froma Canadian newspaper. Just read some of the comments - THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE SERIES like we do :( :( :( Please post to defend!!
,AcidPops33 you little girl, I was not talking to you, so when grwon ups talk kids should shut thier mouths. little whore
Your character is comprimised now Josi, you have no weight here to say "okay, no more insults" after you slam people. C O W A R D I say. I also say you are an idiot. You read the chapter 3 times and nowhere did it say Harry used the silver blood of Snapes??? It wasn't BLOOD, it was a memory! There is a whole fricking chapter of Harry using the MEMORY of Snape's....what an idiot.
Guys, please, kids do read this stuff!!
The book was more then i could have ever hoped for! proud to be one of 8.3 mill!!
Can we stop the fudge insults and actually talk here? Anyway, one of the things I was upset to see not included in the book was whether or not Draco ever formally apologized to Harry or they ever talked again. I know he is at the train station in the epilogue, but it only says he was there. It is obvious that we can assume he has turned good, but I wish he had said something to Harry or something like that. Does anybody else agree? Why do you think JK did not include something like that?
Too often we scoff at each other because one generation feels that others don't/can't understand wht it's like growing up (or to be grown up). JO AND HER BOOKS, HOWEVER, BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN YOUNG AND OLD, AND GAVE US SOME SORT OF COMMONALITY--a period of bonding and understanding (which is so rare in these times). THANK YOU, JO ROWLING FOR OPENING THE DOOR AND TAKING US ON A WONDERFUL JOURNEY...! BUT IT'LL NEVER BE OVER... not as long as there are dreams, whispers, discussions and open books, where Harry's adventure can take place again and again... AND THERE WILL ALWAYS BE FAN FICTION, so we can journey down new paths in the world of Harry Potter...! As long as he's loved, HARRY POTTER WILL LIVE FOREVER.
this book blew. period.
The book is truly amazing.
The plot was wonderful and hugely exciting. I couldn't help but be kind of disappointed at the end, though. There were SO many questions that I felt were not given sufficient answers. We don't know their professions, or Lily and James' professions, or what Dudley saw when in presence of dementors. There wasn't a nice Petunia moment where we learned something important or she was at least being kind to Harry, like I had hoped. (I was pleased with Dudley, though.) I was heartbroken at how Snape died. I thought he would at least be able to explain those things to Harry in person, and maybe die for him as Voldemort realized his true allegience. I was disappointed that we didn't get to see Harry being reunited with Ginny after it was all over, or anyone else for that matter. And what in the world happened to Luna!? She was not mentioned in the epilogue. We didn't get to see the funerals of Fred, Lupin, and Tonks. And though I know it was not that important to the plot, I personally wish there had been a little more romance. I was negatively surprised by how little of Ginny there was in the book. I thought she would find them and help them at some point. And just out of curiosity, I wonder if some of you could give your opinions on this question? Do you think that Snape grew to love Dumbledore too? And do you think he really believed in the Order's cause, or was only helping Harry because of Lily?
Josi your mother should have aborted you. I'll bet she wishes she had. :-)
I wonder if there are just trolls barging around in here trying to make trouble or something. Why waste their time? Not like they can make us think bad of the book!
Thank you for the defense, Hannah_at_Hogwarts, but Josi you are right. You were not talking to me, and I am sorry. It was none of my business.
ski_weasleylove23: I agree. I finished 10 half and hour ago and i looked out the window and thought 'what am i doing in life again' becasue i had gotten so fixed on the book that i had forgotten that it wasn't real life. you forget that harry isn't real and there isnt an evil wizard ready to attack. i still am a little stunned and need to remind my self that its a book! i also agree with what someone else said. JK was rushed im sure and perhaps in this book especially. The pace at which this book goes at is much qucker than the rest. especially at the end. You expect to hear more of after he defeated voldy but you dont. even in the epilogue which is quick confusing in itself was too quick. and by the way was it just me or was the naming of harry's kids kinda weird...i mean...albus?
The book was amazing. It was definitely the best of the entire series. It was surpirisingly funny at times, but there were definitely a lot of sad parts. The ending was wonderful. JKR really outdid herself. When I finished the book yesterday, I felt happy that I had finished, but today, I'm incredibly sad knowing that it's all over. I'm probably going to re-read, more slowly this time, this week. I understand why some people are disappointed. Everyone, the publishers, the fans, the media, built up the book so much that we expected more of it than it could ever be. Try not to judge the book on the outrageousky high expectations we set for it. Thank you so much, Jo. You did a spectacular job with this last book. All I got to say now is, Warner Bros., you better make the last movie the best of all of them. I would rather sit through a 4 hour movie than a 2 hour super-cut version. Please, do this fantastic book the justice it deserves.
Which tells you how amazing it is! It'll be a classic 4 sure!!!!
This book was great. I knew JK had to throw in some kind of twist for Harry to defeat Voldy, but I was blown away with the results.
I dont think Draco would have, she left a lot of holes and in the end I am hopefull things will be fillled, when she is setteled and has time to go thru the notes she may have it all done and when can see were it all ends. as for me i think that baby dieing thing was the part in harry that was Voly that was dieing. i still hold to my guns that Snape could have lived and they could have saved him, as for being eaten by the snake that just scared my for life
can any one tell me why the book is only 759 pages long???
the_last_hallow: I think the mere fact that all the Death Eaters vacated the Great Hall, except for the Dracos is evident that they were forgiven, but it won't be forgotten what they did. Thank you to you too for the reality check. And to wotchermuggle you're right, kids do read these posts and they don't need to read foul language that is being displayed here, or virtual insults.
the last hallow, I think some type of interaction between Draco and Harry would have been wonderful. She did have the nod of the head or incline or something to that effect. I don't think that they would have become best mates or anything but they would have to have a new found respect for one another. I would also like to know if Lucius went back to azkaban or not, but that is just something I wonder, i know it is not pivital to the plot before someone jumps down my throat about 'that isn't part of the plot she can't give everyone what they want' or 'stop being a whiny baby'.
Does anyone know what that baby thing at the train station was, when harry passed out and was talking to dumbeldore
As somebody above me mentioned, the naming of Harry's kids was a bit weird, but JK did it to show that harry knew how great snape and dumbledore really were. It was a bit rushed, but still good overall.
if anyone really paid attention at the end where snape is dying it says" something more than blood was leaking from snape silvery blue neither gas nor liquid it said harry new what it was but didnt know what to do, a flask, conjured from thin air by hermione. harry lifted the silvery substance into it with his wand until it was full to the brim. please instead of arguing just pay attention more closely to what you read.
Hi Hannah & Acid Pops... Back to the convo about the cover, I think that they had to be in the Great Hall, because since the ceiling of it is bewitched to look like the sky outside, it looks like the sky of a sun rising... I think thats about the time the final minutes of the battle were taking place, so it looks like the sun was rising. I don't have the book right here w/ me but I was thinking that the Elder Wand left Voldemort's grasp?! .... Also MyChristM3, I think it was the little piece of Voldemort's soul he killed when he did the Avada Kedavra on Harry.
the_last_hallow: I agree. i felt the ending and the epilogue were rushed a bit. there was just so much that could still have been written. But then again, would you have liked it to have been the same as Lord Of The Rings whch had about 8 endings? perhaps that would have ruined the whole book.
wotchermuggle: i think it's rather dumb of you to say there are trolls here because someone says they didn't like the book. i didn't like the book. period. how am i making trouble? go back to myspace and hot topic. i was disappointed with the ending, especially the epilogue. i feel like my harry potter experience isn't complete yet, or i've been cheated. lame.
I am sorry to all but AnyaMarcos the best part of you ran down your mothers leg
You wonder why it's the best-selling book ever :DD
AWESOME book...favourite so far.... ron killing horcrux & harry at the gringotts & battle of hogwarts my most favorite........but can anyone please tell me whether dumbledore really raised harry 2 slaughter him like a pig or he said so just for snape????? PLEASE ANSWER
this is a bit short and random, but did anybody else actually like Peeves for the first time towards the end of the book when he sings the song about Voldemort being dead? I laughed when I read it, by the way I'm too lazy to quote so for those people who don't know what I'm talking about...
This book was by far my favourite of the series, closely followed by HBP and OOTP. And Seeing as this is the only books i read, its my favorite book. She did a really good job with Aberforth i thought, and many parts had me on the brink of crying and other parts i was laughing. I am truly saddened that its all over and done with but wat a way to finish it plus theres still the movies. I was readingit at work and i had to help some one but I when I went to do it, i felt all wierd i was so zoned in on the book that everything else felt like an illusion.
Albus_GRANDMASTER no i don't beleiev he did. he told harry himself that he wasn't dead, that he only had a bit of voldemorts soul in im. i mean, i thought of that before dumbledore said it, that harry still had his soul in him. I'm not sure why he said that to snape. i dont think he really meant it. probably meant it in a different way and snape took it the wrong way.
you got the woring perfect for the Snapes death, so what was it? in ootp snapes did not need his wand to read harry mind, he could have passed them on when he said look at me...as far a Snapes body,,,, i hope Fawkes came and got him... something great and not the snake eating him.... grose
Let me get down to some business; Rossi, stop trying to get attention, that is all I have to say to you and I think everybody should just ignore him; malans, the reason somebody called you a troll is either because they are HP fanboys (or girls, lol) or because of the people who have been leaving vicious comments earlier insulting people for liking the last book. Please people, just stop the arguing and all this other stuff (I stopped cursing for the kids guys ;) )
Josi- For starters Snape was in the Shreaking Shack no the school. # 2 When they were collecting bodies no one knew except Harry that Snape was on their side. # 3 He had just found out he was going to have to give himself up and die. Not real sure I would be thinking about collecting someone else's body at that point. # 4 Just because it isn't mentioned later does not mean it didn't happen.
Josi hhmmm, im not sure he could. When did snape read his mind with out a wand? he couldn't have passed it on that way because you can only see ppls memories in that weird liquid form. and i think he said look at me so he could see lily's eyes one last time before dying. alos fawkes is dead.
Just out of curiosity, I wonder if some of you could give your opinions on this question? Do you think that Snape grew to love Dumbledore too? And do you think he really believed in the Order's cause, or was only helping Harry because of Lily? P.S. I would have liked an actual coming to terms with each other between Draco and Harry, too.
yeuhh
MY FAVORITE PART: THE PREPARATIONS FOR THE BATTLE AT HOGWARTS. I cried, "Holy Crap!" I couldn't believe Neville... and who showed up and how fast--and how EVERYTHING in the castle came to its defense... I think I crowed with happiness when Ron and Hermione FINALLY!!! had their moment--and laughed my head off at Harry's response. While I was sad about the deaths, I was VERY HAPPY that Neville and Snape finally got their shining moments...! A wonderful, wonderful book.
I will reread that part even thou it makes me cry, i was up for 2 days reading... no sleep so i may have blured my eyes. I still think he should have been saved, for the love of GOD she had so much crap in that little bag why did she not have stuff for healing,,,,, they would have needed it
The book was excellent..my highest thanks to Joe for ending the series so well...my favorite overall, then HBP.....i loved the twist, turns, the whole think, very sad about the deaths, and i throught the book was funny...i have no idea how they are going to make this into a movie..i hope they dont chop it up..i could see the battle at hogwarts like a hour, but i will be the best one as long as they dont butcher if to death..
i think dumbledore wasnt raising him to be slaughtered like a pig just to not be afraid of death because it was the one thing that voldermort was afraid of. that was a comment made by snape because he had always really cared for harry and i think it had to be voldermort who destroyed the one horcrux that he didnt know existed
I forgot about him dying at the end of book 6..... well in the end I think Snape is my bigest loss in the books, Sorry all but he should not have died and left alone, it was not right. he gave it all up in the end
Hedwig I don't think he loved dumbldore. what gave you that impression? i thought it was so, for want of a better word, sweet how he told dumbledore that he still loved lilly and that he cried at her letter. Im not sure he cared any more about the order or voldemort. he just wanted lily and to be forgiven. i feel really sorry for him and he killed his one love.
