one word. wow.
grrrreat!
I thought that it was the best in the series. I'm a litte disappointed that we didn't get to find out a few things, but all in all, the best!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! but the epilogue was definately a disappointment. but still... ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
I think is purfect! She didn't keep all of her promises! 1st?
best book ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The book was totaly awsome, I want J.K to write more of them:) First?
Really amazing! all I could have hoped for!!! S is G!!! WOOO!
SO AMAZING!! Epilogue was a dissapointment, i completly agree...I MISS YOU REMUS/TONKS/FRED RIP!!
The best, but who is Victoire?
Awesome book, but still some unanswered questions..epilogue was big dissapointment, but the battle @ hogwarts made up for it.
can anyone tell me why the book was only 759 pages long anyone
awesomeeee =] best book ever
AMAZING JUST AMAZING
Deaths were a blow, and epilogue could have been better, but lived up to the expectations. Top 15?
Oh my gosh. Wow. I think I loved it. Have to reread it to be sure. My favoritest part was when Percy came back. I squealed for like 5 minutes and hugged my dog. He was kind of afraid of me for a while.
I dunno... Too many plot-holes and inaccuracies.... gah.
'ear, 'ear. It was an excellent book, though it weighed heavily on my heart and mind. The deaths caused me immeasurable grief =/
It was soooo great but she didn't keep all her promises
it was great i cant believe it ended . Sooooo much death but i guess that is what happens in a war , but some were on needed.
OMG I about exploded from sheer happiness at the conclusion. JKR completely outdid herself -- the writing was fabulous and-- I can't explain how utterly shocked I was by the plot twists and so on.
Oh man... It was amazing... beautifully written and crafted. But I felt it left to much unanswered, especially the epilogue. What happened to Luna? What were the trio's occupations? What were Lily and James' occupations? Who was supposed to do magic later in life? I hope Jo begins to answer these in the form of site updates.
top 20? the book itself was great but the ending became too farfetched and i must say the epilogue was garbage
it was crazy and amazing. it was totally NOT what i was expecting. alot of it was scary to me. did anyone else feel that? and why were the deaths so sudden? but it was brilliant simply brilliant!!!!!
It was close to perfection. I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed with Dumbledore, though...Poor Snape!! :(
I loved the book so much. I just want to reread it, because I read too quickly. To all of those criticizing it, it is pretty much impossible to cover everything. I loved it!
i felt that it was amazing it was obviously the best book in the series and a wonderful way to end the whole thing. i think what J.K. did was great and that it left everyone with a great sense of ending. there wasnt anything that was left unanswered at least in my eyes. like i said in the beginning it was amazing.
I thought that the battle was absolutely epic. The middle was pretty boring though... it was just Ron Hermione and Harry sitting around being liek "wahhh i'm boreddd... lets do something... lets look for something" Dobby dying wa so emotional i thought that i would never stop crying. The pages of my book have little tear stains all over them. And when he was walking to his death i absolutely lost it. so frigging sad. I agree-- the epilogue left much to be desired... pretty weak and lame.
Love'd the book the best yet. Hated the epiolouge though, I couldn't picture an adult Harry, its not how i wanted to leave our BOY wizard.
WOW a great book. It was the first book series I have ever read. I will miss it.
I am glad she de-sainted Albus Dumbledore. Giving him human foibles made his victory that much sweeter!
WOW!!!!!!!!!! It was fantastic. but who was the person to domagic later on in life??? SOME ONE PLEASE ANSWER (if it was even in the book). And i wonder what happened to the Dursleys. I think the epilogue just didn't sound like jk rowling it was more like a fanfiction but thats cuz we are used to reading that type of stuff rather than the real thing. But i can see all the fan fictions about what happens between those nineteen yeasr and afterward. And Victoire was Bill and Fleurs daughter right? WEll anyway if anyone found out who did the magic later on in life please tell me! All in all it was a fantastic book! YAY JK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
I LOVED it! It was definately the best of them all.. I liked the epilogue.. it made me laugh.. But one this my family and I must have missed: who was the witch/wizard who performed magic later in life???
I cried so much more in this book than all the other series, but it was definitely the best book I have ever read. Some plot holes, like, what "important role" was Fawkes supposed to play? Who was supposed to come to their magic late? What were the trio's jobs, how is George dealing without his twin...
The epilogue was weak, I STILL don't know how the Gryffindor's Sword ended up back in the Sorting Hat unless Griphook put it there (unlikely), or it was enchanted by Godric Gryffindor to always reappear in the hat when a true Gryffindor (Neville) needed it. Also, Colin Creevey's death was completely pointless. Still...gre at book.
I absolutely loved it. People say it's fanfictionesque (the epilogue and stuff), but I guess it just shows that JKR has a smart fandom. Lily + Snape... so cute. I liked the couples. Wish she didn't kill off so many people though, but alas, it's a war. Dumbledore's backstory was very interesting. JKR has quite the knack for filling in family history eh? Off I go to read it again!
I loved the book the best out of all,I sobbed liked a baby towards the last 4 chapters. Incredible I loved it Jk rowling is my hero.I even liked the epilouge i thought it was great. The movie is gonna be kickass when it comes out.
I was extremely pleased. DH is probably the greatest book I've read. The entire series is so meaningful and complex... it's just mind-blowing. I particularly liked the last few chapters, like King's Cross. It was just so beautifully put together I thought I was going to cry even harder. Despite others' dislike, I actually did enjoy the epilogue. It was what Jo wanted and after all she did write it a really long time ago so the writing style has obviously changed a bit.
Completely without a doubt my favorite!!! I loved ALL of it. Even the epilogue
Overall it was a wonderful book. Some of it really blew my mind. Snape's story... Dumbledore's story, Harry's story... all masterpieces once you see them from beginning to end. The battles were amazing... weathering the dangers of being on the run... feeling the climate of Voldemort being in power... it was all beyond amazing. I was disappointed in Ginny. I thought she would finally emerge from the periphery in this book. Also the prologue made my teeth hurt. But overall wonderful book. It's definitely the best of the series... though it feels weird to say that b/c the previous books set this one up to be so amazing.
epilogue was bad, book was great, ponly bad thing to mention was the way voldemort died. i wish the fight between harry and voldemort lasted longer.
The Epilogue was a bit of a let down, but as a whole, I loved it. It was SO different from the rest of the books, and that is what makes it so special. There was so much information in this one, espically because we are so used to not getting answers, but I still have questions! What did James and Lily do for a living? Who was the person who did magic later in life? What do the survivors do for a living? What are the 12 uses for dragon's blood (which better be in the encyclopedia)? And many more. I know they don't matter to the story, but inquiring minds want to know!
I read the whole thing on Saturday; I couldn't put it down. I was teary-eyed the last 3 chapters. I'm OK with it being the last book because all I need to know, I do. Granted, I wanted the epilogue to be at the Burrow but I'll take what I can get. It was an amazing journey with a fitting end. The book took my breath away. (But I really wanted Snape to be evil.)
OK, what about the US Cover - I think it wrong. The cover shows the scene in the Great Hall, at sunrise, where Harry grabs the Elder Wand after Voldemort's curse rebounds... The book says that Harry grabs that wand with his "free hand." Doesn't that mean that Harry should be holding his own wand with his other hand? But it is empty on the cover. I think Mary Grand Pre made a big mistake!
I was actually kind of dissapointed. Its nice to know I know what happens but I think its my least favorite of the series. So much was left unanswered I mean who did magic later in life, what were James and Lilys jobs, what are Ron, Hermione, Harry, and Ginnys jobs now.
TOP 25 LOL it was awesome...it was a blast really...I really enjoyed it... yet people, we have to bear into account that an EPILOGUE is NOT part of the book, it is just something that the author gives to the reader just to please him...in a way...neither of the prologue or the epilogue are considered part of the book actually...at least in theory i really liked it.. and i guess victoire y bill and fleurs daughter
ahh. I'm very upset that its over... It was good though why?? rawr She did what she had to, inorder to end it right I agree, the middle was like ooook but I still liked reading it in oneword AMAZING
I loved the book. It is my favorite. But I HATED the last chapter. I thought it was stupid and corny. I would have like more closure. Like what happened to everyone besides having kids and whatever. I thought the last chapter was so sappy. But other than that, I loved it. Although, what I didn't catch was who was the person who developed magic powers late in life?
the best!!!!!!! [i would prefer a better epilogue :/]
victoire was most likely bill and fleur's child since victoire is a french name. didn't really like the epilogue. there was a lot that could've been answered. and wouldn't teddy have been living with harry already since he was his godfather? there was a lot of unanswered questions that i'm dying to know now..and now we may never know :[ but overall i liked the book. ootp is still my favorite and then poa. but this is probably third after that.
