FIRST: WOOOW!!! I can't believe I've finished it, I mean I can't believe it has finished. Althouhg I'd wanted to know a bit more about the trio's (and the others) future, it was a pretty good way to end it. What a name Jo called Ron and Hermione's son & daughter! I'm argentinian and here both are common names, but it's quite weird now to find kids name like that (old fashion names). Anyway, I'm a bit dissapointed about some parts and about some things which we couldn't finally learnas we had expected to, however I love the book! In my opinion is the best of all! I don't understad why you guys mostly don't like the epilogue, I think, especially the second one which is wonderful, that they're both acurrate to the book's plot. And again, just AMAZING... Harry Potter'll be in my memory for ever and ever.
I have never been dissapointed in a harry potter book at all, the first six books were perfect, even though some parts got me really sad they just made sense and fit. However for this book I was a little dissapointed. A lot of it was amazing, but parts at the end I wasn't too happy about. I wanted Snape to do more, it would have been great to see him and Harry interact more. I didn't like the epilogue, I wanted to know what the others were up to, the books aren't just about harry ron and hermione there are other characters. And my main dissapointment had to do with Lupin and Tonks death. For the whole book I was nervous about Lupin dying, but in my head I was thinking well at least if they do die they will probably have an amazing heroic death scene that I would be happy with, but no they were just mentioned, as if they were extra characters or something. I have loved Lupin for years and I never thought when he left the room of requirement that that was the last time I'd ever see him alive, I thought I'd see him fighting or something, but no. I'm really sad about that. I think the worst deaths Rowling could have done were killing Lupin and killing fred, because splitting the twins apart that's awful, and Lupin had had a really rough life, everyone close to him died, he was a werewolf, and finally he found happiness, then he dies. And also I don't find it realistic that Lupin and Tonks would die and ginny ron hermione neville and a bunch of the other people would survive. Lupin's very powerfull, so I don't find it realistic that he would die and a bunch of the characters that lived would live. But if Rowling had put in a great death scene for them all of my problems with all that would be gone, I'd be depressed still, but not lost and angry like I am now. But besides that the book was great, I think I like Half blood prince more though, DH felt a bit rushed or something. Oh and I wish McGonnagal could have been in it more she's so cool.
I always thought an underlying issue in the books was the division the houses caused between the students at Hogwarts. I loved how they all united in the end to fight Voldemort, and how Harry and Draco ended on good terms.
I LOVED it. I'm still reeling; i just can't believe it's over. Jo did a superb job, it was brilliant. I really loved how she was able to weave each story to form a complex and intricate web of a novel. I was speechless at the end! It was brilliant, just BRILLIANT.
I loved most of the book. After Ron left it got a little slow and it took them a long time before they found/destroyed the next Horcrux but after that it was a whole lot of action and excitement again. But the ending left so much open and it was a bit sudden. I would have liked another chapter at the Weasly's, to find out stuff. Who died, who didn;t, what happened to the school...what happens to the Death Eaters? Do they re-open Azkaban for them? Do they catch them all? Do some escape? What happens to Voldermort's body? What happens to the Malfoys? Did all the teachers survive? Who took care of Lupin's baby? Harry and Ginny? Or Tonk's mum? How? Where does Harry live? How does George cope with what happened to his brother? What are everyones proffessions? Who becomes headmaster of Hogwarts? oh and why isn't Snape's portaint hanging in the headmaster's office?? But I LOVED: Kreacher's part. And I was so sad about Dobby!!! I loved that the big end-fight took place at Hogwarts. How the story with Snape was solved. Call me a loser, but I cried when I read that his Patronus was a silver doe.. The action, the start of the book with the Seven Potters, immediately two deaths (Hedwig!! So sad...) told me this book meant serious business.
one of the biggest surprises was the Princes Tale. His doe like lily's hasd been. I also was remembering some things about the dursley's like in HBP when albus said to aunt peatunia about how they had written before. It was when she wrote to him and begged him to let her come to hogwarts. Which obviously led to her hating wizards so much. YES and adult harry is hard to picture. But yes Snape was the bravest man that harry has ever known. The princes tale and godric hallow were my favorite chapters. and the 19 years later was pretty lame. But was much better than GOF.
shanshan: he's not in hogwarts, he was in king's cross to see Victoire off in quite a lovely way ;)
spoilers - liked the book, and I actually liked the epilogue although I would have liked to known if Harry had become an Auror (maybe they aren't needed naymore??). I did think the book was kinda draggy up until the last third or so left though. Only two real dissapointments for me and those were that we didn't see more of an internal struggle from Draco, other than the blips that he was afraid, so I wonder whether the Malfoy's have abandoned dark magic aside from the obvious of no longer being able to support Voldemort, and biggest dissappointment - Snape's end. I thought it would be much more climactic than it was and was hoping for more, and I also was hoping there would be more about him in the bok to keep us guessing either way up until the big reveal rather than basically nothing at all and then all of a sudden a kinda here you go all-at-once with Snape's story kinda thing. So, overall good, but wish, with Snape being such an interesting character, more attention could have been granted to him and his eventual end.
WOW,This was the best book hands down.I could not put it down.I am proud of J.K.Rowling she done a great job sticking to the story.I was sad about the death of the twin as me and my wife lost a twin. But this book was so out standing.I was real sad when Dobby was killed but he done whattt he had to for the boy that lived.I was wrong about Snape to,WOW who would have guessed he was a real good guy.And Kreacher boy what a suprise.Never would have guest that.Great Job J.K. Thank you for every thing.
I thought everything was great, every plot line was tied up. However, one question though: How did Neville get the sword of Godric Gryffindor at the end, because the goblins had it last?
Overall, I enjoyed the book. I think that she could have rewritten the last chapter and epilogue that she wrote for this book. After all she did write it before she finished "Philosopher's Stone". I am not sure if this has been noticed yet but, did any one else notice that in this book polyjuice potion changed your voice. In chamber of secrets Ron and Harry had to imitate Crabe and Goyle. I need to look it up but I believe that in GOF Crouch Jr. studied and imitated Mad Eye. Any one else have a thought on the polyjuice potion inconsistency?
my feelings on this book and the whole series cannot be put into words, i couldn't stop crying when it finally hit me that it's finally over. in my opinion, the most moving chapter was 33 (The Prince's Tale) because Snape has always been my favorite character since the series started and i just exploded with happiness that i've been right since the beginning (although i have had my doubts on him :/) and i couldn't control my self while reading it, i had to constantly put the book down to wipe my eyes since i could barely read it with all of the tears streaming down my face. all in all, i'm very happy with the way she ended it, it was beautiful, there will never be any series of books that could be compared to Harry Potter.
well, i LOVED IT. but in the epilouge, who was victorie, or watever, and wat happened to everyone else? also WHO USED MAGIC LATER IN LIFE? cuz i kno it couldve been ron, he spoke parseltounge, and maybe dudly, he was NICE to harry [figurative magic], but i relee dont know. but other than that, THIS WAS THE BEST BOOK EVER!!! JK DID GREAT.
wooww!! what i wanted to know about the epilogue...i know it's weird...btuwhat happened to the dursleys?? i was crying forever...i was still sad through the epilogue. i wonder if the lack of info in it means she wants to write another?
i think she left it open so that she can write more. i don't like that harry named his kids after his parents and dumbledore. imean, it's sweet but i don't see harry as the kind of sentimental person who would do that. maybe seeing them with the stone had a real impact on him. I CANT BELIEVE THAT HE'S NOT GONNA LOOK FOR IT AGAIN!!!!!!!! AND THE WAND!!!!!! HE HAD ALL THREE FREAKIN' HALLOWS!!1!!!ONE!!!!!!!!1 1!!!!!ELEVEN!!!!!!!!!!(ye s i stole the eleven thing shamlessly from schmerg_the_impaler.) i definenly wanted more out of the epiloge. and i know that i said that he was sentimental, but WHERE'S SIRIUS?!?!?!?!?!?! HE'S THE BEST CHARACTER!!!!!!! WHERE'S SIRIUS ARTHUR, OR SIRIUS VOLDEMORT?!?!?!?!?! (well..... he did Albus Severus.) great story though. my i concern is fanfiction. We are left with only certain characters and names for harry's kids. everything i had planned will be AU now. :(
I loved this book. It was so full of ups and downs, it was like an emotional rollar coaster. I didn't think the epilogue was very well written, but I did love how Harry and Ginny named their children after everyone. The end was great! The best by far...and a very good conclusion.
Simply the best thing I've ever read in my life. Thank you J.K.!
no more books... no more harry potter... but what a book! a dignifying ending to a fantastic series! i am in such anguish that i want to scream! it's like living a part of me behind. all those days wondering what mysteries would the next book reveal... all those nights searching for clues in the books I already possessed! i lost count of how many times i read the same words, but always getting excited of what came next! it was the best book ever! all things in the right place! all characters (that feel more like friends to me) showing up in the right time! i loved every bit! the final war... i can't express in words what i felt while reading it! thanks JK, you brought a little more happiness to my life!
i love that emerson was right. i LOVE snape. i know that's weird, since we all probably spent so much time hating him, but he's absolutely wonderful and he totally and completely cared for harry. did anyone else find it interesting that hermione changes her parents' memories and sends them to australia, but then when they are attacked by death eaters on Tottenham Court Road, she says she's never done a memory charm before? I also love that even though we all spent YEARS theorizing about this book, I will bet nobody saw the whole Deathly Hallows thing coming. Jo just likes to remind us that while we may have guessed that yes, Harry is a horcrux, we can never be better than her genius. I think a seven page epilogue for two thousand pages of series was a little weak. but better than anything, was the fact that the last battle took place at Hogwarts, both Harry's and Voldemort's first home. And the fact he called Voldemort Tom Riddle...that was perfect. And Mrs. Weasley OWNING Bellatrix. It was amazing. I started crying on the fourth page and I didn't stop.
This Harry Potter book was the best!!!! I was really surprised when i found out the truth about Snape!!! i couldn't believe it when i read the part where you get 2 look @ Snape's memories and found out that he was one of Lily Evens' best friends. at the end i actually thought that Harry was dead and that it was over. i cried and i don't usually cry. ever. The epilogue was my favorite part. i was pleased 2 discover that Harry and Ginny were married! and Ron and Hermione! i still have a lot of questions though. like what happened to Luna and her father?? what about Olivander? the Hogwarts teachers? i know that the whole point of this series was supposed 2 be about Harry, but i would like 2 know about everyone else!! I have some theories, but that's all.
I thought the book was amazingly awesome!! I was expecting a lot more people to die so the only deaths that really really bothered me were Dobby and Fred's. But I was bawling when Harry was walking to his death, even though a part of me thought he was still going to live. But my Mom saw me crying and she was only 75% through he copy, so she thought that some major character died! I was still crying through the King's Cross chapter actually. And I loved the part from when Hagrid brought Harry's body to everyone to when Voldy died. That will be such a fantastic scene in the movie if they do it right, as will the whole battle in Hogwarts. I thought Voldemort's death was a little sudden, even though Harry didn't really stand a chance anyway, I wished there could have been more of a battle between the two. Now about the epilogue, I loved it when I read it, it was a nice and soft way to end the series. Especially because I'm a huge Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione (how awesome was that kiss?) shipper. But after I closed the book and really thought about it, I was disappointed with the lack of information. However, I trust Jo and I'm sure she had her reasons for the way she did it that way. I don't think she will write another HP book, she has always been extremely firm on the number of books of the series. But who knows? She could write one about the missing years---how amazing would that be? I think the reason Jo didn't go into detail about the rest of the characters was because the focus of the books has been on the trio and now Ginny. And didn't she have that chapter written since she started the series? But I still want more details. I really hope we get some good interviews from her soon, from fans, not the people on TV who just ask boring and pointless questions. It would be great if Jo did another interview with Emerson and Melissa. Overall, the book was the best out of all the books in my opinion, even though it did have itâs flaws. I canât describe in words what this...
I think Stan Shunpike was the person who used magic later in life. Wasn't he practically a squib.
I am so glad that so many people feel the same way I do. There are so many unanswered questions left. I felt the book was very dull at the beginning - there was way too much history and who ever let Rita Skeeter out of her bottle to write such rubbish! The ending was to - ugh! It was almost like it was rushed. Victoire is probably Bill and Fleur's girl. I was dissappointed in the ending and the beginning. I really hope that in the last movie JK Rowling decides to answer the questions. Did Harry ever find the Resurrection Stone after all that was his last question to Dumbledore. I would like to have heard about the wedding to Ginny and Ron and Herminone's wedding - what does Harry do for a living - did he become Minster of Magic? He doesn't teach defense against the Dark Arts because he sent his children to school and he wasn't there. So many questions - no more books - how tragic!!
I thought the book was... great. there were alot of loose ends, which i hope we can find the answer's to... and, i hated the epilogue... bc i still picture them as kids our age... not 36 year olds. And i cried so much.. but all in all. JKR has outdone herself again. I loved it. ~Assunta~
First of all, I truly believe all the deaths were completely necessary, even Hedwig's and Colin Creevy's. Hedwig's death was necessary to show that death would be an important aspect of the book. We knew Book 7 was going to be much darker and having an innocent death right of the bat set the tone. Colin Creevey had to die to show it wasn't just the of age wizards who were willing to sacrafice themselves FOR THE GREATER GOOD. It showed people, like Colin, were still loyal to Harry. By Remus and Tonks dying, as well as many others, Harry realized he had to sacrafice himself to stop all the death and killing. He realized everyone was dying for him and he was the ONLY person who could stop Voldemort and in doing so, stop the death and grief. This coupled with Snape's memories propelled him to make his sacrafice to Voldemort. ALSO by realizing he was giving himself up for the good of his loved ones, he too cast a lily-esque charm on the "good guys." Deep, I know. Also, people, STOP COMPLAINIGN ABOUT ALL JO DIDN"T ANSWER. SOMETHING HAS TO BE LEFT TO THE IMAGINATION. USE YOUR BRAIN!!
I loved it! DH has definitely replaced OOTP as my favorite of the series. The highs...the lows...all of it was awesome. I even liked the epilogue, even though it wasn't as long as I would have liked it. The whole last half of the book was awesome. The Battle of Hogwarts was on par with the Battle of Pelennor Fields (me being a LOTR fan). They BETTER put that part in the movie. In fact the last 4 chapters should be in the book. I sobbed at Dobby's death. I cheered when Kreacher led the house-elves against the Death Eaters. I said, "About time, you git!" when Percy came through the tunnel. It hit the ground from the word go and didn't stop until the Eqilogue. Thank You JK Rowling, and I will be first in line whenever you decide to write again. Thank You
It strikes me that it might be nice if the 7th movie were split up into two. the first might end after the escape from gringotts and the other covering the battle of hogwarts and having a proper cinema ending. I really don't think that this ending is very good for a movie (no touching ginny-harry moment, for example), and if JKR would work with the screenwriter to get post-book stuff right, the director would have plenty of screen-time to end the movie series properly (and we might get a lot of detail that epilogue-haters miss). The 5th movie was very rushed, and that really can't happen with this one because so much is important (not to mention that they have to stick all the important stuff they glossed over back in somewhere... that'll make it take even longer...).
EvilTim, what makes you think that Hermione and Ron are the only married Weasley couple? Charlie, Percy, and George could all be married too, though I agree that Victoire is probably Bill & Fleur's . . .
simply amazing!
CAN I JUST SAY TO THE PERSON THAT WROTE THIS COMMENT THAT THE BOOK HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH NAZI GERMANY MANY BOOKS AND HISTORICAL EVENTS INCLUDE CERTAIN TYPES OF PEOPLE BEING SINGLED OUT AND WERE THE HALF BLOODS BEING GASSED..NO SO HUSH YOUR SILLY MOUTH! ALSO I THOUGHT THE PART WERE ALL THE HOUSE ELFS ATTAKED WAS TRULEY EXELLENT! R.I.P DOBBY! HEDWIG! LUPIN! TONKS! FRED! COLIN!-( SLIGHTLY ODD DEATH THERE!) MADEYE! SNAPE! -( THOUGHT THAT THE FACT HE LIKED LILLY WAS SO CUTE EXEPT FOR WHEN HE CALLED HER A MUDBLOOD!) IM GLAD MRS WEASLY WAS THE ONE TO FINISH OF BELLATRIX!
holy crap it was AMAZING...ron and hermione FINALLY get it on geez i was waiting for that for a looooong time..big relief epilogue was kind of a let down...what happened to everyone else?? what do they do for a living? where do they live? ect. oh well i was simply balling through the whole thing.. i heard jk rowling was going to write a following book for charity but i'm pretty sure thats a rumor..cuz that would be freakin sweet oh and poor fred, dobby, snape, mad eye, tonks, lupin...i love and miss them RIP totally awesome book!!!...and now come the fanfics lol
it was amazing! only complaint the middle just got a little slow.....but no big deal (blame the locket it was making EVERYONE moody, including the readers). at first the epilogue was...."WTF??!??!!"....bu t the more i read it, the more i liked it, and now i think its the perfect ending to the series. this is the best book, by far, then poa, then ootp. the worst death for me was snape, especially when harry saw his memories rite after he died. lupin and tonks was numbingly depressing, and dobbies was really bad because he buried them and it was at the beginning of the book and i was already emotional because i couldnt believe i finally had it. plus he was so innocent. KREACHER was AWESOME and regulus pwns the universe.....even if we only heard about a page worth of him. the snape/lily relationship was sad...real sad. *tear* i dont think the end was cheesy, as some pplz do on mugglenet chat. the epilogue gets better as u read it, like i said before. thats the way jkr wanted it. thats the way i like it. i also have to say ~R.I.P.~ severus snape, nymphadora tonks, and remus james lupin. i laughed alot during it which was good, im out of examples..... GEORGES EAR I WAS LAUGHING AND CRYING!!!!!!! when dudley said "i want to go with these order people" during the potterwatch brodcast i was laughing and crying.... when ron referd to the horcruxes as "you know whats" neville is awe inspiring. i remember at times when i was just stopped reading and stared at the page, admiring jkrs writing. again out of examples. petunia petunia petunia...... wow, i cant write anymore.... DH ROCKS anyone who says otherwise will suffer from my wrath....well....i guess not really since i believe in freedom of speech. wow. ~banana~
Okay..first off I love it. I was so sad when Ron just left but happy how he ended up coming back. Dobby was a dissapointment, when he died, I cried forever. Same with Tonks, Lupin and Fred =( But the epilogue could have answered way more questions. What happened to Luna? Instead of letting us know about Draco she could show us what happened to Luna. Where are the Dursleys, not that we care. Who is Victoire? I think Bill and Fleur's daughter. Also, what was everyones job? We found out Nevilles. And WHO was the person to do magic later in life? But everything else was GREAT!!! It is my favorite book..I am so happy that The Trio and Ginny lived to tell the story to there kids..I just want to know where do they live? In Godric's Hollow or close to The Burrow? I hope J.K. Rowling can answer some of these questions.
I agree that the epilogue was weak, and I found it a little confusing. I wanted DETAILS darn it! :) Do Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny live near each other? Who did Neville marry? What are everyone else doing for work? Who is minister of magic? Who is the headmaster/mistress at Hogwarts? What happened to McGonnagle? Did the trio graduate? Also, Jo said that we would find out about Mrs. Norris being "something" significant, that was never brought up. But I LOVED the book! LOVED IT! But I feel like I could use a follow epilogue book for some details!!
i feel like i was left hanging. D:
How could you not love this book? It is the only one we're ever going to have - the only version of the end of this story, JKR's story. Anything we imagined we wanted out of it, any still unanswered questions, are just a testimony to what an incredibly detailed and rich world JKR created and that we dwelled in. What made me saddest in this book was Snape. After he called Lily a mudblood, he waited all night outside the Gr. door to apologize. When she said his name, it made him smile. He was a sad, lonely outcast from a broken home, whom Lily loved (as a friend) and confided in, his only love in the world, and he let her die. And then he spent the rest of his life thanklessly making up for it. It broke my heart when I read about him dying, asking only to gaze into Lily's eyes once more. He is undoubtedly one the best written and complex unsung heroes in literature. His death affected me more than many of the others in this grim book. Overall, like I said - I feel it would be ungrateful and callous to claim that JKR should have written this book any other way than she did - its her story and her story alone to tell, and I thank her for her imaginative genius in creating it and her generosity in letting us share it.
Amazing too say the least, felt a little bit left down in the later chapter (a bit rushed perhaps?) Great book no doubt but sad that it is finally all over. RIP: Dobby!
A few minor disappointments, less main character deaths than I thought (which is a good thing), and over all very good read and satisfying ending. Agree that epilogue could have been longer.
i'm on the sacking of severus snape. i haven't finished yet, and i've been reading since 8:30 saturday morning! how did you guys finish that fast? SO FAR- THIS BOOK IS THE BEST IN THE SERIES!
Harry and Ginny get married and have three children Albus, James, and Lily and Hermione and Ron get married and have two children Hugo and Rose. Hagrid is also killed
I'm also glad that Dumbledore was made more human in this book after all thats what he is!!!
FANTASTIC! Just one thing... the end. I think that HP7 could be a better book without "19 years later". And I don't like Harry/Ginny (maybe because I love Draco?) ;) (I'm italian, so sorry if I made mistakes, I'm not very good at writing in English)
Great book!!! I think I cried 3 times within the first 100 pages. It was so good, and I'm so sad that the series is over. Like others in here, there are still alot of unanswered question, e.g. who turned out to be a witch/wizard late in life, what profession Harrys parents had, and alot more I can't remember at this point. I thought that the epilogue was a bit corny too. I would've liked to hear what happened to some of the other Weasleys, especially George seeing as what happened "to him". I also found it amazing that the child on it's way to school was not called Sirius. And that Ted didn't live with Harry. But all in all, a good book. I can't wait to have some of my questions answered though.
The Hollows were an integral part of the books, and why Dumbledore didn't explain EVERYTHING to Harry, because he feared that he would succumb to the same temptation he would. He could've been invincible over Death, but what would that have done? He would never have been able to beat Voldermout if he didn't accept Love and vanquish the fear of death, two of Voldermout's biggest weaknesses. What I don't get is..did Hermione and Ron kiss before the battle? They seemed to be living and sleeping together for months on end, and it seemed weird that they didn't (well, maybe not after hermione was rageful at Ron for leaving--a HILARIOUS scene).
The book is wonderful. As for the Epilogue, I think that truly great people who live thru times of hardship or tragedy or heroism don't continue to wallow in their heroic or difficult past. They just pick up and go on to lead the best life they can. I think that JKR didn't really elaborate because it would all be pretty normal and boring. That's what true heroes do.
I thought that the book was amazing. Sure some parts really pissed me off though, like the epilogue. It only tells us what happens to some characters. What about Luna? George? The teachers? Who becomes the new headmaster? It also doesnt explain things like who would sort the new students at Hogwarts, given that the Sorting Hat was caught on fire and probably died/was ruined. Something I would of liked to be explain much further was how Teddy Lupin was brought up. Did Tonks mother raise him? Also, where did Harry and his family live? Grimmauld Place? Did Harry and Ginny make Ron and Hermione god parents to their children and vice versa? To some, these questions may seem pointless to answer. But I would really like to know. Also, who was the character that did magic later in life? What did Dudley see when the Dementors were attacking him in OOTP? What would Hermione see if she looked in the Mirror of Erised? Did Neville get married? Was George able to move on with life after his Fred died? What happened to the rest of the Death Eaters that survived? If Snape really loved Lily, how come he was never once kind to Harry? Sure he hated his father, but if he loved Lily wouldnt he have shown Harry some respect? WHY DID LUPIN AND TONKS HAVE TO DIE? JK has said that Dean Thomas' father was killed by Death Eaters, but why isnt this ever mentioned in the books? Why wasnt the veil explained? There are so many more questions I have, and I hope JK will be giving interviews explaining the answers. She can no longer say 'oh answering that will give away too much for the next book' but now it might be 'leave it to your imagination' Well, unfortunately, I like it better when she gives us the answers straight up, instead of leaving us to obsess to try to find the possible truths. I cried when Dobby died, and when re reading the book, I cried when Snape died. What hit me were his last words: 'Look...at...me' He wanted to die looking into the eyes of Lily.
The book was awesome!! It was basically all dat I hoped for nd there were a few things that caught me offguard, lik dumbeldore's past, but u can see how perfectly everything was done bcuz lik everything came full circle... the deaths really sadenned me... I started crying so much when fred died, cuz that was reeli unesxpected, and he's a character whose been there from the start... the only disappointment was the epilogue, bcuz it left something to be desired... but hopefully she will answer everything on her site and on the live chat on saturday!!
What was the biggest surprise for everyone? I think the biggest surprise for me was 1) when Percy came back and 2) when Fred died.
Insanity. In my opinion there shouldn't even be an epilogue and it should just start another string of books. I can understand that maybe she'd want a break after writing all this stuff but I would love more books going deeper into everything that we found out in the epilogue and the years between it.
Overall it was an enjoyable book, although I was a little disappointed with the direction of the overall story line. I felt let down because there seemed to be a lack of hard work and preparation leading Harry to become a great wizard. He never developed additional skills to destroy the Horcruxes or fight Voldemort. I waited for that development in each book, but it never came. The fourth book came closest to âtrainingâ for latter battles. Instead the solution for the Horcruxes came from simpler solutions than expected. Outside of being virtuous, there was nothing about Harryâs skills as a wizard that made him outstanding. While that is part of the message behind the book, it made the overall story seem too simple in the end. Other developments as to who was âgoodâ or âbadâ distracted from Harryâs story as a whole.
