I have to say I'm glad Arthur didn't die, imagine what Molly would do.. although it was in OotP so I do feel a just a little bit cheated by this.. I wonder which two characters died who weren't supposed to..? I actually thought that the character getting the reprieve would have been George- I cried for him almost as much as I did for Fred (if not more!). Although, what about McGonagall?? hi guys! hey, i know what is one of the two alternate titles for Deathly Hallows. I dont know why it isnt posted here on Mugglenet...we'll have to wait, I guess. But for those who can't wait....one of the alternate titles is HARRY POTTER AND THE ELDER WAND.

As much as I would love to fall into Rowling's fantasy world once more, I hesitate to support an encyclopedia. I hope that the encyclopedia and sequels about Draco’s kid vs. Teddy don’t change her classic masterpiece into just another sci-fi book like A Wrinkle in Time. The point isn’t what happened to the characters, but that they all just went on with their lives like we all must after overcoming great tragedy. Of course, if it is published… I will buy it, and enjoy myself thoroughly anyways. J

An encyclopedia would be spectacular if it happens, although I for one can't imagin why it wouldn't. It would certianly clear up all of the questions about characters lives after the final Harry vs. Voldemort Battle. It would also give fans much needed closure. oh yeah, I'm glad A. Hey, does anyone else think that it might be a good idea for Mugglenet and Leaky to start a questionnaire that could be forwarded to JKR for consideration when she writes this encylopedia? We can compile the 50 most asked questions about the series, characters, places, etc. that we want JKR to touch upon in the encyclopedia. She won't have to answer all of them, of course, but she would have an idea of which topics we want to hear about most.

I was betting on Hagrid, or one of the Wealsey parents. Lupin and Tonks are obviously the two last minute kills (which, by the way, have taken a devastating toll on me). If she killed "another father" in Arthur's place it's pretty easy to figure out when you list the casualties: Hedwig, Mad-Eye, Dobby, Snape, Fred, Lupin and Tonks. Only one father there, s'far as I know. (Or are Snape and Lily closer than we thought? *wink*) Although Fred's death was sad, it was inevitable. There's just so many Weasleys, one of them had to die. As to JKR's choice, well, seeing as I'm still bursting into tears every now and then over Lupin and Tonks kicking the bucket, I think I would've rather had Hagrid or Arthur die. Yes, it's clever to kill of all the Marauders the way she did, leaving Harry with an orphan godson, but honestly Mr. Weasley has a had a nice life, 7 kids, enough parenting to last a lifetime. The Lupins had what...3 days? (And the Potters had a whole year, now I think about it!) But, ah well, I'm digressing. As to this Encyclopedia, WONDERFUL! And the news arrived on my birthday, too! She can take as long as she wants, I don't want something rushed *cough* like DH *cough* but rather, a nice, text-book sized book to look forward to. Or I'm sending Greyback on her.

I'm so excited about the Harry Potter encyclopedia! It makes me happy that the HP regime is not over yet! It'll be great to learn a lot more about the characters that didn't contribute much to the central plot. I was surprised to learn that Aruthur Weasley got the reprieve...I thought that JKR meant a character in DH got a reprieve, but I'm glad nonetheless. I thought he was going to die in DH because he is like a father figure in Harry's life but he didn't and I'm eternally grateful for that!

Interesting. I hope she does decide to do an encyclopaedia. I am a little confused about the thing with McGonagall. The fact that she was old was mentioned in OoTP, but if we consider that Dumbledore lived to well over one hundred, I do wonder whether wizards do generally live longer than Muggles.

I think an encyclopedia would be wonderful. Personally, I'm obsessed when it comes to backstory. And it would be a great resource for all those roleplayers and fanfic writers out there. :P

Honestly!!! How can she let Arthur live, whose children are all grown, and Kill Lupin whose child was just born and now will never get to know his father. She did to Teddy just what she did to Harry. I was starting to get over the fact that Teddy lost both his parents but now I am just upset. Geeze...don't get me wrong I really like Mr. Weasley but what about Teddy??
