I would love to know if dean and luna got together. They got to spend time together and before the battle of hogwards they held hands.

I always kind of thought that i would love for the encyclopedia to be like Hogwarts, A History - 50 years after Harry started or something. I admit that the blow to the family would have been huge for Arthur to die - but really - when it comes down to him, Molly or Fred (I kind of reasoned that she wouldn't kill an injured Weasley so Bill and George were safe, she wouldn't kill Charlie or Percy because we dont care enough or know enough about them, then there is Ron and Ginny - those deaths would have been particularly unacceptable) that i would have preferred that one of the parents died. I know that sound harsh - but I love George - he was always the more sensitive and loving twin - so to think of him having to live with out Fred still makes me feel sick to my stomach. Fred was so young. Gred and Forge no more. Although - i will say - that if JKR put in the encyclopedia that Fred became a ghost - i would be much more at ease. Like maybe Fred - brave and wonderful as he was - could not bear the thought of going on without George. Could you imagine Fred and George haunting the family and Hogwarts for all eternity??? That would be great. Too bad Fred was too brave to let that happen...

Wait, so she killed Tonks and Lupin INSTEAD of Arthur Weasley? Oh, c'mon Jo! I mean, I'm not saying I wanted Arthur Weasley to die either, but Tonks and Lupin had only just gotten married and had a kid!

I am absolutely THRILLED to bits about this! :) I cannot wait to see it released and amongst the shelves in Borders - of course, after she's had her well-deserved break. ;) Yay! Three cheers for J.K. Everyone says that they cannot understand why Lupin and Tonks had to die. It was tragic but sets forth the idea that they, too, like Lily and James, died going against Lord Voldemort who was making their lives a living hell. Had they decided not to fight, what kind of future would little Teddy have had? Half werewolf, half wizard, able to change appearance. Yeah, I am sure LV would have loved that. Now, we can hope that Teddy, whether raised by Harry (who I think would have been to young to assume the baby's care), Bill and Fleur, or Arthur and Molly would have had the chance to grow up in a world where his differences were mor eaccepted by the wizarding community as a whole. Harry never got the chance to live in a loving family-hopefully, Teddy can have the sense of the ultimate sacrifice his parents made so that he could have a better existence.

I personally think JKR should have already answered these questions in the last book, but hey, we get to wait for another book, and who knows, she might write a sweet book series on Harry's and the others kids. I hope the Encyclopedia tells us what happened to Snape. Did he get a portrait or is he hanging out is Dumbledore in the afterlife?

***SPOILER*** I kind of wish she had killed Arthur, because then Molly Weasley's "NOT MY DAUGHTER, B****" would have had a little more impact as opposed to being *somewhat* gratuitous. That's not to say I didn't love it. Hopefully this encyclopedia will make up for that horrid epilogue.

the backstory on dean thomas (if i remember correctly) is basically his dad who he never knew was a wizard who died fighting DE's. his mom never knew that mr. thomas was a wizard or something like that and so dean was mucho surprised at his hogwarts letter. so throughout the series dean was supposed to be finding all of this out but his story got pushed aside for neville's. =]

Fred was my favorite character in the books. But he died the way he always wanted to, friends with Percy and a hero. He died in battle, a true hero's death. I can't wait for the encyclopedia! I will wait forever if i have to! - JKR's (and HP) number one fan

The encyclopedia is perfect to answer all the die-hard fan questions - and a great way to support whichever charity she selects. The best way to let us know random facts that only crazy Potterheads want to know - like that Professor Flitwick's patronus is a Panda bear ^_^ (secret hope). Can't wait for the rest of her today show interview on thrus/fri, and for her online chat on monday.

in responce to defer913, i agree that making fred a ghost would put alot of people at ease, but there is no way he will be one though, because to be a ghost, you have to die being sad, loney, ect. He was fighting and laughing alongside a brother he thought he would never speak to again, so I doubt it was any of those things. rip fred, snape, ect.

That made the last 6 minutes of my day. It's so cool. I want to know what happened to the characters, especially George. And poor Arthur. I'm glad he lived. There were two who were killed off because of him right? Did she ever say who they were?

In the interview it says "instead, another father dies in the end of book 7" after talking about how Mr. Weasley was supposed to die. Does that mean for sure that Lupin was one of the unexpected deaths? Him and Tonks are my first guess. Anyway, I can't wait to get the encyclapedia. All the answers the die hard fans are looking for!! And something else to look forward to and geek about now that we have all the books.

I want to know if Snape got a portrait in the Headmaster's office or did he become a ghost to finally be able to teach DADA lol I would just love it if the Encyclopedia told us what happened to everyone that died not just those who lived.

I really DON'T like this idea. Harry's story has now ended, but instead of moving on, she does an hp enciclopedia? >:S Can't she just as easily reveal this information on her website? Does it merit an actual 300+ book? I really want to know what where James and Lily's occupations, not to mention Harry's, too- but if she thinks that I'm going to pay for that, she can count me out.

I was so, so, so sure that George would have been the reprieve, and I still think that Tonks and Lupin were the ones who died instead... I rather thought it was kind of cruel to kill off just one of the twins, maybe it would make more sense to completely end the laughter and kill off both. Can you imagine what George must be feeling right after the battle and everybody is happy and etc etc... except for him, because his twin's dead?? Tragic...

oh wow!! i was really suprised when i read Arthur was the one who was suppost to die!! i thought it was hagrid. i think that the two characters that were not originaly suppost to die were mad-eye and hedwig..... but anyways i am so happy that she is writing more!! i hope that she goes into more detail about the others who lived. i would also like to know more about little Lily,Jamie,and Albus!!

Oh THANK GOD we're getting that encyclopedia! She's always said that some time she MIGHT write it, but this is practically confirming it! I know that a few years will come and go before we get it (5? 10??!) but I'm glad we will eventually get it. I hope she donates the earnings to comic relief, like she's done before, I really don't think she wants more money. I looooved the book and the epilogue, you really need to re-read it to fully appreciate it. XOXO

We really do need more info on everyone..the epilogue wasnt good enough..though I loved it. this is sooo great..so DH isnt the last new bit of Potter we'll get...I wonder how long it'll be!! yes i'm excited!! I mean she deserves a break and I want her to take one, but as long as we're getting one someday..i'm happy!!! something to look forward to. and you never know, she always said she'd never say never about doing another book about Harry's world, so ten or twenty years from now she could change her mind and write another book...maybe with little Albus Severus as the star lol. or a prequel would be great too!! yes I'm so excited for the encyclopedia!! and I wouldnt have guessed the Arthur Weasley was the reprieve...I'm glad she didnt kill him though. Lupin and Tonks I figured were the last minute deaths too, because after Wormtail went, its like well the marauders will all probably have to go.

I hope she talks about why it is important to let people know what happened to all the people who died as well as the people who lived. Like, did Snape get a portrait and did all the dead people hang out in the end after the war? Is Fred a ghost who still hangs out with his brother? Did Snape become a ghost to teach DADA? I would have loved it if JKR would have had a scene where all the dead people throughout the series waved goodbye to Harry in the end. Just so people would be able to know that they are all okay and that they are together.
