That's fantastic! It just shows how utterly obsessed we all are. I love it!
belivable....what else is to be expected? [=
That is so awesome! JKR deserves every penny she's earned from this. She's an absolute genius.
It's so inspiring to think that there are millions of HP fans throughout the world.
WAY TO GO JO! That is just fantastic. That is millions of people reading real books. No matter what anyone says about the stories themselves, to get that many people to read (anything) is an amazing feat. You helped make the world fall in love with reading again and that is the most wonderful gift you could have given us! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
amazing! Does anybody know how many have sold by Bloomsbury in the UK?
awesome!!!!! i went to a midnight party and was like man this is going to be good!!! but also i got insomnia from after reading the whole book!!!! plus i'm probably going to be the only one talking about the book at my school since no one read's them.
AWSOME! Can't say i'm surprised though... HP ROCKS! JK is by far the greatest author ever! Greatest book I've ever read... and i've read quite a few so that's saying something! :D
sigh... no more potter. im gonna be emo forever : (
im proud to say i was a contribution to that 350 million:D
well of course! its HARRY POTTER. only the best series EVER made! (in my opinion) !
Thats so great. Hey, I was reading your book and (I dont know if you really read these) its really enjoyable. I think that you guys should consider writing another one - like the aftermath of harry potter? What you think of the whole book and what not, etc. I think it would do really well!
that's so cool
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAANG!!!!!!!! holy shiz. shes gonna be rich wait she already is. haha. but very well deserved you are amazing JKR!!!!!!!
Wow, that is totally wicked!!!!!! :D that means that there were at least 140,000,000 books sold just in the U.S. if books can have this much affect on the world, why don't people like reading that much?? Oh well, I LOVE THE HARRY POTTER SERIES SOOoooOOOoooOOO much!!!!!!!!! GREAT JOB, JO!!!
Wow! Awesome! But I'm not suprised at all as it definetly deserves all that for being the best book I have ever read.
hehe, i have one of every copy. so YAYY i contributed to the amazingness.
YAY FOR NEWS!!!! that's really cool-i hope nothing ever breaks that record. it's really sad its all over though. there is a hole in my life now. :(
HAH! I BOUGHT ONE OF THOSE 14 MILLION!!!
I bought two copies - the US version at the midnight release, and I ordered the UK version from AmazonUK. I have two sets of each book. What do you think Jo's next book will be about? What could she possibly be cooking up now?
WOW! That is amazing. I am so excited that there are that many Harry Potter fans out there. I am so excited, JK wrote an amazing book! Great job again.
Do the numbers include the deluxe edition? I have one of each (hubby and I can't share), and folks, if you haven't seen the deluxe edition illustrations, try to! Mary GrandPre out did herself. There is a beautiful *COLOR* print of the first scene outside the Malfoy Mansion--a glorious white peacock against a large orange moon, with Yaxley and Snape in the background, entering through the ornate gate. Also, there are full-page sized illustrations at the end of the book of each chapter illustration, as well as a bonus illustration of a smiling Ron, Hermione and Harry in the Headmaster's office, the scene from the end of the book (they are all pretty beat up... and given what they all just went through, no wonder!) Find it if you can... it was sooo worth getting!
Severin Is there much of a difference between the two other than the covers?
YAY!!! I'm so proud of the world at large for realizing how wonderful the HP series is. Yay for 14 million copies of Deathly Hallows!!! YAY!!! *grin* (top 200, lol :))
At an average of $20 a book...that is over $7 billion dollars. OH SNAP!
Ha, and that's surprising why? =]]
GO JO!!!!!!!!!!!!! U da bezt !! Harry Potter has changed ma lyf like 4 eva !!!!!!!!!1 Thats y im sittin here @ 3:45 in the morn Ans lookin up mugglenet!!! :) Oops I hear footsteps. I g2g ttyl . bbye ----Potterized_-------
to badumboom: (sorry, I logged off for awhile). Sometimes there are interesting differences. In HBP, in the scene at the top of the tower when Dumbledore and Draco are talking, in the US version, DD says to Draco that if he comes over to the good side, the Order can hide him, his mom and his dad, and protect the Malfoys from Voldemort. However, this paragraph was completely left out in the UK version. Insignificant now because we know how the story ends, but until DH came out, that really kept a lot of people guessing.
YAY!not surprised, but hey you just got to celebrate :)
This is really something of a phenomenom...11.5 Million copies in just 10 days is amazing great job jo XD
W00T!!! Of course, I didn't expect anything less than that... ^.^ I'm sure that Harry Potter will still sell and be on bookstore shelves in the future. :D awesome awesome!!
JK Rowling created the best books ever!!!!!!!!!! 3 cheers for Harry!!!!!!!!!
JO IS THE BEST!! THERE'S NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!! I mean, seriously, what would we do without Harry Potter ... Would this site be a lord of the rings dedicated site instead? =o
I think HP is fantastic..wow..I just looked up US's population number..wow..a whooping 300 million..(compare to AUS...has only 22 million) I think HP has changed the world, teaching values through novels and Jo has given the literacy world more than anyone else.. I cant believe this is the last book..it's just soo -cries- amazing and sad at the same time. Im really looking forward to the encyclopedia..although I just hope it comes out soon..because I need something to read, Im not putting Deathly Hallows down or any of the other HP books because I love HP and Im determined not to read any other books other than HP..so Jo better slow down or hurry..or something along those lines. Seriously...Im now having a vision of my sitting in class reading an encyclopedia of Harry Potter's world...hmmm..I think it would be a strange scene for the other people in class...lol..imagine all the people that reads HP books are now nerdy because they're reading a HP encyclopedia...lol..still ..I am a nerd..so that's not a really big change..but there is one change..an HP encyclopedia... Im weird arent I? This is my first MuggleNet Comment Post..and it's freakin long..lol.. Imagine all my other posts Im gonna post..omg..lol.. -pop-
That's totally amazing! 350 million copies! wow.
I've come to the conclusion that there are two kinds of people in the world; those who love the Harry Potter books and those who have never read them;-)!
WOW, that is pretty Spectacular. only Harry Potter could do something like that. HPBrian, I completley agree with you :)
Wow that's great news!!!!! Go harry potter!!!! I still can't believe the series is over, for ages I was like, 98 days to go, 50 days to go and so on.... :( .... but on the up side us fans will make harry live on, and lets hope this encyclopedia actually happens some day!!!! I still have loadsa questions bout DH which werent answered on that online thingy with JKR. Sigh. I think Snape's boggart would defo be Lily's corpse... who knows???? GO HARRY POTTER AND JKR!!!!!!
Agh!!! News is so slow. So is this post-potter mugglenet for now on?
britishwannabe it wont be like this 4ever b/c the we still have 2 movies, a theme park and an encyclopedia, and there may be other things after that. so... HARRY POTTER FOREVER!!!!!
i love u emma so hot
this is probably the best and most-enjoyed series of all time. 350 million copies, ofmg.
woot woot! way to go!
congrats jk. we love you
