Confirmed: Equus coming to Broadway next Fall
Confirmed: Equus coming to Broadway next Fall Our friends at DanRadcliffe.com have confirmed that the West End play, starring Potter stars Dan Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths, is coming to Broadway in September 2008. The production was rumored to move over to the United States, but some wondered if Dan would be able to do it because of his Half-Blood Prince filming schedule.

The Daily Mail also has an article on this story and notes that rehearsals are to begin in August. We'll have more news as it comes in! Thank you to those who sent in the links.

Hmm...Daniel Radcliffe...tasty... :-P

Posted by dancefool1 Nov 2nd 2007

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!

Posted by mwluvshp Nov 2nd 2007

I saw the play in London last March. Dan was incredible! It is such a different and intense role. There was about 10 minutes of the play during the climatic scene where I swear you could barely hear the audience breath. It was very striking and raw. You could feel the pain of a mentally disturbed boy. Dan was brilliant and the nudity was not tasteless. After the play Dan came outside and signed autographs. I was not close enough to get one but I got it on video. If you can go, GO!!!! I would go again!!!

Posted by Cree902 Nov 2nd 2007

I'm definitely seeing it again. It was an amazing play, Dan Radcliffe or not. But now that it's in the US there's gonna be even MORE little fan girls going to see it. And that's really annoying.

And that's really annoying. When I went I was on a row of women my age (30-40) and guys in there teens or early 20's. Fan girls were not near me but I guess sometimes I feel like a very old fan girl myself! LOL

Posted by Dragon_queen4ever Nov 2nd 2007

Im saving my broadway dreams for when my english class goes t osee wicked...sorry dan, my mom would never let me see your play. :)

Posted by Dreami Nov 2nd 2007

Guys.... well, actually, fangirls... this is a mature play for mature people. [18+] and if you are going only to see Daniel Radcliffe naked, you have your priorities mixed up. *eyes shift to a certain poster in particular*

Posted by hgshipper31 Nov 2nd 2007

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am 13 but everyone says i could pass for a 17 year old soooo if there is an age limit then we'll lie lol. besides we might go for my b-day so i'll be 14 then! my mom said she would take me if it was definitely coming to broadway and now it is!!!!!!!!! i just told her that its confirmed that it is and that dan is defintely doing it! she was happy too! omg i have written soooo many letters to him and everytime he is in n.y.c. i want to cry cause he is only 45 minutes away and i can't see him and now i'll actually be in the same room as him! i'm gonna faint now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok i gotta cool down! lol! i'm just sooo excited it's sorta of hyper excited!

Posted by rooon Nov 2nd 2007

Is Dan going to be in it? Please tell me!

Posted by mwluvshp Nov 2nd 2007

In London, he came out of the back door of the theater to sign autographs. So the answer is no you did not actually have to see the play to see Dan. He stayed for about 5-10 minutes and then he went back inside. Never saw him leave. He must have left out of another door. The play is very mature. You should go only if you truely want to the great actor Dan is becoming. He is as far away from Harry in the play as you can get!

Posted by MagdaleneRose Nov 2nd 2007

OMG!!!!!!! I'll at least be in the same TIME ZONE as Daniel Radcliffe!!! I just wish I could be in the same state/city/better yet room(with him dressed of course!) absolute total awesomeness!!!

Posted by Emi_5 Nov 2nd 2007

ahhh yes!!! i would love to go and see it!!!! but unfortunatly up here in the mountains of Pennsylvania money doesn't grow on trees. i already asked my mom over the summer and she said 'absolutely not!!!' i could be in NY in about 3 hours or soo.....it would def be worth it....but im suppose to get there how? CARPOOL anyone?

Posted by dannyrob15 Nov 2nd 2007

ahh no!!!1

Posted by MagdaleneRose Nov 2nd 2007

still total SWEETNESS! and he'll be finished filming HBP by then!! as it comes out in November... just under a year till Movie 6... wow, how time flies, even without the aid of a timeturner, although I would love to have one now, along with an apparition license!

Posted by Marie_Lee Nov 2nd 2007

the pic is wierd.....

Posted by Marie_Lee Nov 2nd 2007

its 10:30 yet it is very loud in my house!! grrr!! so i cant join u...

Posted by HPFANTimothy Nov 3rd 2007

It's pretty lame how girls go on about him... and sad too ;) Not that I'm jealous, as most of you will say (particularly if you're a Dan Fan Girl) but simply because you lot only take an interest into him because he's famous. But then I guess you will get that ANYWHERE! Annway, I practically crack everytime I see Daniel_Radcliffe_Is_My_Hu sband's comments! By the way Daniel_Radcliffe_Is_My_Hu sband, I'm 13 too :) Anyway, doesn't it disturb you that if he was just a normal person, and he walked down the street, you wouldn't look twice? But because he's famous, not only will you look twice, but you'll run up to him and do.... God knows what **shivers** Anyway, that's cool! Equus is a brilliant play ;) FAME, I tell you, it's all FAME!

I just have to go now that they are doing it here US. This is probably going to be the only time that I will be able to see anybody that has anything to do with HP, let alone Dan. I love this because it finallly gives be an excuse to go to New York. I have always loved traveling (this summer I visited Los Angeles, Toronto, and London) but I was hoping to when I would be able to afford it better. Last year I was working full time but this year I started school and only have a part time job so paying for a trip to New York and one to Portus in Dallas is going to stretch to afford. Not to mention that I will be also be missing school next year to go see it. This causing me both joy and a headache. =)

Remember Cedric. Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort. Remember Cedric Diggory.
