BBC interviews Radcliffe on HBP, Deathly Hallows
"Really well. I've just been doing a bit of work with Jim Broadbent who plays Horace Slughorn, who's just fantastic. And we've been doing a bit of stuff with me and Rupert Grint. We haven't done any scenes with all the kids yet in the Great Hall - that's all to look forward to just after Christmas. It's glorious to be working with [director] David Yates again."
Dan acknowledged he didn't read the seventh book until about four days after it came out, so he was "walking around with his fingers in his ears." Luckily, it wasn't spoiled for him.

It's so exciting to anticipate the movie. I particularly love the new coverage that it gets so we can follow the progress. It's almost like we are part of the movie 'family'. :-)
Maurice Slughorn huh? and all this time i thought his name was Horace.....
nice
So, I'm presuming that Slughorn's name is still Horace and Dan just misspoke when he said Maurice. Right?
Well, it is possible that the transcriber spelled it wrongly... Looking forward the new film! :D
10! Can't wait!!!
How could he take so long to read the 7th book. I couldnt wait that long. As soon as i got it, i started reading. the temptation was killing me. hes a brave soul thats all i have to say.
4 days? he has a very strong resistance.
I can't believe he didn't read it for four days! I got it at midnight and had read it twice by the 22nd:)
hahahaaa! i bet someone told him he died lol
4 days? Jeez. I would have been dying to know what would happen to my character.
4 whole days?!! insolence i say. how surprising and mildly dissapointing..
Maurace Slughorn, tehe. Yes, my maturity is questionable. I never thought I'd see Daniel Radcliffe compared with Britney Spears, very interesting.
i love dan!... he's always kind of hyper and happy!:P...
cool interview, it's great to see the actors of HP have managed to keep their feet on the ground! How is it that BBC news cant get the name of a character right!!!
Top twenty hopefully!!! I adore Dan!
THATS LIKE BOSS I DONT KNOW Y HE DID NOT READ IS THO THEY SHOULD OF ASKED REALLY
he didn't get spoiled ... lucky him ... luckier than me :_(
OMG I can't wait for everything in HBP im soooo excited. And it will be sooo cool everything together about dumbledore's death scene, quidditch and Sughorn!!**....and why didn't Dan read the book earlier..lucky jhe didin't get spoiled!!*
totally cant wait...only 370 days till it comes out in America.....CANT WAIT!!!
I love Dan!
i hope these new characters in the movie give a new meaning and very good reviews to the next movies in the series.
I can't wait to go she all of the old and new characters in the new movie=]
Why four days after? I finished it Sunday evening, July 22.
4 DAYS!?! Merlin's beard! How could he wait so much?! It was waiting in line for one hour and a half (I got my book at 1:30am) and it was killing me! Honestly I didn't even wait 4 MINUTES to read it after I had it in my hands!! :p
it must be so interesting for Dan to read the seventh book. he would probably be visualizing himself as doing somewhat similar for the seventh movie. if i were him, i wouldn't stay away for 4 whole days without knowing what happens! i mean i couldn't wait that much as it is even when i'm a nobody but imagine if i were playing harry potter in the movies! i would've probably cornered JKR long time ago at some premiere or through internal connexions and profusely begged her for a manuscript or rather demanded that i had a right to know before everyone else. lol, like she'd have fallen for that! but the good thing is he didn't get it spoiled. i would never have wanted it spoiled for me, i'd have wanted 2 read it on my own! spoiling the end really really sucks. i had the fifth book spoiled for me, so i made sure nothing of the sort happened for the sixth and the seventh.
The video interview is better: http://news.bb c.co.uk/player/nol/newsid _7090000/newsid_7095900/7 095905.stm The reporter asked questions of all three - Dan, Emma, and Rupert.
"You're one of the most recognised faces in the world. How do you keep your feet on the ground when other young stars - like Britney Spears - are having such a tough time of it? I think there's a big difference between the way you grow up in America and in England if you're in this kind of position. In America, they'll treat you as an actor first and a child second. In England they treat you as a child first and that's the way it should be. Any 11-year-old who suddenly realises that that they can have anything they want is going to abuse that power, and you just need people around them to be honest and say "don't behave like that". I'm not sure that happens to the same extent in America. " This is an awesome answer! And it's so true, too (I'm American). Great interview!
that is so cute of him. even i was closing my ears every time people started talking about the climax of DH. and since when did he start calling rupert GRINT?.
