Posted by BookWorm2188 Jun 21st 2006

wow... three years already... it seems like just yesterday I was dashing from my dance recital (crazy stage makeup still intact) to get to the nearest Barnes and Noble to get my copy of the book at midnight. *nostalgic sigh*

Posted by alison Jun 21st 2006

oh, poor sirius black. maybe he's with dumbledore, hiding out and having tea with severus snape.

Posted by Julied112 Jun 21st 2006

I just finishined re-reading book 5 today. Still hate reading about Sirius though. I never had a demented copy of book five, but when I first got book six, half the pages were cut down the center. Luckiliy I relaizedit before I left! I wonder how much longer to book 7!

Posted by iheartmugglecast Jun 21st 2006

OMG! I remember this day! I was in year 5. I got home from school and Mum/ Dad had bought me OotP! I was so happy. I ran upstairs, sat on my bed and began to read, turning the pages ever so carefully. Then Mum started the vacuum... by sisters were yelling and running... I ended up screaming through my tears, even though being only 10 " I WAITED THREE YEARS FOR THIS BOOK SO JUST SHUUUUUT UUUP!!!". I got in so much trouble but it was so worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by felena90 Jun 21st 2006

Wow, it's original, I like it ;) Happy Birthday, "Order of the Phoenix"! In about a month there's going to be a year anniversary of a certain book ;) Oh, how much I wish it were the birthday of the 7th book...

Posted by The_Maltese_Fan Jun 21st 2006

I know it's great to remember this 'birthday' but are other people, besides me, getting a bit worried over the lack of information about Book 7. I mean, in the year 2004 - the year before HBP came out - the door to J.K.Rowling's site opened three times, with the first time being somewhere in March or April. April 2006 has come and gone and all we had was the WOMBAT test which told us nothing of Book 7. I'm thinking that maybe she won't get it ready until this year is past. Is anyone else thinking along the same lines or am I worrying too much?

I mean, in the year 2004 - the year before HBP came out - the door to J.K.Rowling's site opened four times, with the first time being somewhere in March or April. That's spam, funkydudetotorg. Anyway, I can't believe it's 3 years since OOTP. It seems so distant... so far... yet so near. I can still remember I was at a camp on the release date and when I woke up in the morning, it was 7:01am exactly and I was thinking, "Oh I should be at the bookshop RIGHT NOW getting my book!" Haha. When I got back from camp the next day, my sister was still reading OOTP and she was near the end of the book... Finally when it was my turn to read it, she kept giving me spoilers! I was so annoyed but I don't really blame her... I guess she was quite excited (who wouldn't be?) and couldn't help herself. At least she didn't spoil the Death for me. That would have to be my friend's fault... Ah well.

Posted by kooppatil Jun 21st 2006

aww! i remember tht day i persuaded my sister to buy me the book! oh what joy! hmm it was alalso the date where i realised i was obsessed with harry potter only one thing to say though: we miss you sirius! R.I.P.....*sobs hysterically* :D

Posted by ren_15 Jun 21st 2006

i dont understand the fuss, i no im gonna be controversial, but... i just dont get it. I know its a brilliant book n all, but surely y rnt se celebrating the GoF release date, the PoA CoS and PS as well. It just doesnt make sense

Posted by remylefay Jun 21st 2006

awwww happy bday ootp!!! *rlf*

Posted by Lucas Jun 21st 2006

I remember that day like it was yesterday I wasn't as obsessed as now but I still woke up right away in the morning to get the book then I read it in two days... nowadays I would have finished in by the end of the day but of corse I was on vacation during the release.

Posted by seerofdoom Jun 21st 2006

Woot i am happy 3 years since ootp YEah without out that HBP wouldnt be here and the next HP book would not be any closer.so yup that is it from me

Posted by Edwina Jun 21st 2006

lol, how to make 'new' news out of old news... booooring :)

Posted by dracodragon Jun 21st 2006

wow, it's hard to believe that it was 3 years ago that OOTP came out

Posted by Carly87 Jun 21st 2006

awww, I remember when book 5 came out. I kept thinking how great it was that we still had 3 books on the way. Now there is only one left and it's so sad. Three years ago tomorrow I was sitting in my living room, bawling my eyes out because Sirius had just died. I honestly felt sick to my stomach for like two weeks after that. lol, not that I'm crazy or anything ;) Good 'ol OOTP, my favorite

Posted by Bridster Jun 21st 2006

and I three years ago today I turned thirteen!

Posted by tsophia Jun 21st 2006

wow. I feel like it's awesome that we're almost at the end of the series and it's terrible that we're almost at the end of the series. I loved reading all the accounts of major HP parties the day after...

Posted by scurvy_cur Jun 21st 2006

lol i remember that one about someone delivering it a day early! idiot! ahhh three years ago, i had just finished my GCSE's and was waiting for my copy to arrive!

Posted by Katie_Grint Jun 21st 2006

Posted by Samantha_Weasley Jun 21st 2006

Posted by Illusions Jun 21st 2006

3 years ago. I remember it so well. This time 3 years ago, I was reading OOTP.

Posted by val Jun 21st 2006

omg where does time go? it seems in some ways like book 6 never even happened that it was not so long ago we got OotP but omg 3 years.. i feel old.

Posted by Potterfanatic Jun 21st 2006

wow i remeber OOTP it was the second greatest book to me next to GOF but it definately was a close race! i remember i was on vacation and i was going to save it for when i got home ...needless to say that did NOT happen haha

Posted by hpwiz812 Jun 21st 2006

wow! i remember that i went to my local Hp release party! the first one i ever went to! it was awsome! i bought the book like at 9am and then i went back to the place and all 300 copies were gone! lets hope now for 7/7/07!!!!!

Posted by nat089 Jun 21st 2006

In response to ren_15... we're probably celebrating OOTP and not the rest cos there was the longest (and by popular opinion, most memorable, I think) wait for the book. We had 3 years to wait for it... And all the speculation and theories went WILD.

Posted by person92 Jun 21st 2006

Wow...I still remember when I first opened to the first page of OoTP in the car and seeing the chapter picture of Harry in the bushes...like it was just yesterday.

Posted by usirius Jun 21st 2006

3 years ago i was 8 months pregnant and was on my way out the door to the midnight party when my friend stoped me by calling and telling me to sit down that i wasn't allowed to go. pissed off i sat there as she talked to me about crazy things untill i was to tired to go so i had to wait till the next day to get my book. grrrrr. i was so mad. but considering the fact that i got the book, read it, cried my eyes out as my man sirius died, finished it 15 hours after i got it. then went into lobor i guess it was good that i din't go. i could have gone into labor in front of all thoes kids and scared them more then lv's return...so i should have named my baby lily but didn't and ever now and then i kick my self because i didn't...

Posted by usirius Jun 21st 2006

i also wanted to asdd that after i finished gof i rushed out to get ootp and found out that it wasn't done and i had to wait almost 2 years freaken 2 years( that is a long time) for it. then all the fun things came out about what means what and what will happen. it was so fun.. now we are still doing it with hbp and the 7th book.. i love harry potter.
