Posted by hermione11 Feb 10th 2008

I sent in the news story, and Andrew didn't mention anything! I was so excited that my name might be mentioned on MuggleNet, and now its not. Sugar!(Thats my equivalent of "shoot!") Oh, well, Andrew probably saw it somewhere else without seeing my e-mail.Whatever.

That's awesome! He did such a great job at reading, doing all the characters in different voices, and he's very easy to listen to, also! Well done! That's the only way hubby was able to "read" all seven books was listening to them.

Posted by tiassa Feb 11th 2008

well it is NOT a slow news week now. Congrats to him

Posted by warlocksandmuggwumps Feb 11th 2008

Well, thats just awesome!! I love his voice!! He's so good at recording the hp books!! My brother has listened to every single hp book, he didnt even try to read them! :o

Posted by ashleyyosaurus Feb 11th 2008

I didn't even know they gave Grammys for stuff like that. Very cool.

Posted by Lunatic_LOVE_good Feb 11th 2008

Funny, Jim is good, but I've always found Steven Fry better at reading the books.. I haven't heard Jim in DH though..

Posted by Fuzzykitten99 Feb 11th 2008

I agree Lunatic! I have listened to both versions, and I prefer Stephen Fry. I like his reading voice better.

I normally don't like comments that are 97% emoticons, but what the heck. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D. Call me crazy, I don't even listen to the books on audiotape. Yet I can't stop grinning.

Posted by hpintwense06 Feb 11th 2008

i saw that on the Grammy website. that's cool he won.

Posted by malteselover Feb 11th 2008

Awesome!!!! No one deserves it more than Jim Dale. Listening to his voice is equivilant to beimg offered free cookies from a benevolent stranger, or finding out that your guy friend loves High School Musical, or that you and your biffle are planning on starting a llama summer camp. Yes, Jim Dale is that awesome. He's why I watch Pushing Daisies (best show ever) and why I'm tempted to rent the HP audio books from the library, even though I've read them about seventy billion times. Kudos Jim Dale!!!!! You're voice makes my heart melt!!!!

Posted by rooon Feb 11th 2008

Yaaay Jim! He does such a great job! : )

Posted by mrsfredw Feb 11th 2008

omg...this made me sooo happy...i love jim dale's readings of all the books...i listen to them all the time...sometimes his voice even narrates my dreams.. im sooo happy for him, he totally deserves it!!!

Posted by dancefool1 Feb 11th 2008

YAY!!!!! The show was awesome!!!!!

Posted by hedwighummer Feb 11th 2008

I agree all the way, malteselover. This brilliant man deserves it completely. Listening to his voice is not only like starting a llama summer camp, but on top of that, like filling out quizzes from magazines, realizing you don't know the answers to half of them, guessing on them, and getting them right. It's just THAT GOOD.

Posted by FLHPFan Feb 11th 2008

Congratulations to Jim Dale!! He so deserves this honor. I enjoy listening to him read the books so much! :D

Posted by DeaflyHolla Feb 12th 2008

I never really appreciated what Jim Dale does in his readings until I was reading a story to my kids one night and they asked me to do the voices! Now this was a typical Disney book with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and a few other minor characters and let me tell you, I was exhausted when I was finished and they found it more funny than enjoyable! My 7 year old told me that my Donald voice didn't sound anything like the real one and that my Mickey voice sounds like a little girl! Well Mickey does sound like a little girl I tried to explain. I did nail Goofy's voice though! Jim Dale's got mad skillz! I never get confused when he does his voices. The one and only voice that I couldn't stand Jim doing was Ginny's. He made her sound a little too gruff! Other than that, he does a great job with all of the other voices in my opinion. Jim also holds the Guinness book of records for having created the most different voices for one audiobook (134)! Congratz Jim! I can't wait to hear you do book 8 (Hint to JO)!

Posted by harrypworshiper Feb 12th 2008

YES! I love listening to all the Harry Potter books in his voice every day as I go back and forth from school! I have probably listened to Deathly Hallows four times since it came out! best reading EVER!!!
