JKR still writing in cafes
JKR still writing in cafes The Telegraph has a short piece about Jo Rowling continuing to write in cafes:

"I will continue writing for children because that's what I enjoy," reveals Jo, who greatly misses the child wizard. "It's left me with the biggest emptiness in my life." She will, however, leave behind the magical world of Hogwarts. "I believe that it's good for me and good for my readers that I bring myself to work on something different," she declares.

In a search for inspiration, Jo discloses that she has returned to the Edinburgh cafes where she completed her first novel while unemployed and living on benefits: "I am very good at finding a suitable cafe. I blend into the crowd and, of course, I don't sit in the middle of the bar staring all around me. In 90 per cent of cases, it's the cafe's staff who allow me to work without being bothered."

Posted by tiassa Mar 2nd 2008

Posted by littlebigjellybeans Mar 2nd 2008

That's pretty cool that she's still doing that after all these years... =)

Posted by felixfelicis888 Mar 2nd 2008

Posted by erisal95 Mar 2nd 2008

Yeah... She's The Author of our boy who lived and she's the one who will feel empty of all people that now Hp ended... I feel empty too but hey Hp fans are nice enough to make fanfictions!!! Hp made my life happier that it could ever be!!!! Love you JK!!!! I'll definitely will keep reading some her books!!!.. Thanks God for guiding the woman that we became to know as the author of our the boy who live and the magical world!!!!!!!

Posted by hpninjaskills Mar 2nd 2008

That's great! But you know, any story she writes now will never be like Harry Potter. :( Which is so sad. But her stories are going to be great - you can be sure of that. :D

Posted by snapelova Mar 2nd 2008

coool!

Posted by irishfanaticwhobelievessnapeisgood Mar 2nd 2008

Fair play to her for doing what she loves best!!!!!

Posted by starlette804 Mar 2nd 2008

I can't wait to read her next book!! She is just absolutely brilliant!! Jo is my hero :)

Posted by angelina_johnson92 Mar 2nd 2008

Good for her. After all she got famous for writing her book there, but wouldn't she get bombarded by fans or paparazzi?

Posted by addicted2chocolatenhp Mar 2nd 2008

A new book! A new book! A new book! A new book! A new book!

Posted by Wizard4243 Mar 2nd 2008

Yea I kinda figured she would be still doing that wich is really good. Knowing that she has decided to write an entiterly diffrent story. This is most wonderful.

Posted by Jaden413 Mar 2nd 2008

awww, deathly hallows was the last one?I was hoping for more Harry Potter books

Posted by narcibellhermina Mar 2nd 2008

I write in Cafes... It's a great place to write in! I write 50% of my fanfictions in cafes. (The rest I write at night by moonlight or candle. It's easier to picture the characters in the dark) Go Jo! And of course it doesn't matter if you leave coffee til it's cold because with your riches... that's 100,000,000,00 coffees right there. :P

Posted by rooon Mar 2nd 2008

Cool that she's still writing! :) I still wonder.. what IS a political fairy tale?!?

Posted by dobbylvr1996 Mar 2nd 2008

i think she should write an epologue or the story from another persons point of view.

Posted by Bellatrix_25225 Mar 2nd 2008

Thats cool that she can still go to Cafes and write without being bothered!

Posted by i_LOVE_rupert_grint Mar 2nd 2008

Posted by i_LOVE_rupert_grint Mar 2nd 2008

Posted by CROOKSHANKS99 Mar 2nd 2008

cool good for jo

Posted by NicoleM Mar 2nd 2008

I'm guessing the books that she will write will not be for adults too, like Harry Potter?

Posted by love_padfoot Mar 2nd 2008

wow what can i say other than this is the greastest news ever except for my i found out my grandfather got me the book the morning it was released!!!!!!! now i feel more ready to take on the world, hopfully as much as i did when i was reading the harry potter series for the first time ever! i dont know if it will be better than the series but i definatly know that watever she decides to write it be inspirational, have its own meanings about life and that no matter wat this book (or books) will most likly mark itself down as one of the greatest book (or books) of all time just like the harry potter series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-w ish all the best of luck when the book is released

Posted by Ginny_Weasly_rocks_13 Mar 2nd 2008

cool! awesome thats great top 100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

Posted by UK_Wildcat Mar 2nd 2008

She is so cool, to be able to just go on with her life after so many years. Jo, you are my hero! You were probably more obsessed than any of us!

Posted by CaShEw_luvs_HP Mar 2nd 2008

ye-ah!! im glad shes writing more books! =) im gonna miss harry, ron, hermione, and all them though =( soo sad, i still think she should write about marauders now that would be such a good series itd b he-lar-i-ous too

Posted by KaitlinM Mar 2nd 2008

thats nice it must be meaningful for her to come full circle. to the person who is surprised Deathly Hallows was the last in the HP series, are you an idiot? are you perhaps living under a rock? you know this is a website for Harry Potter FANS, right??? *takes deep and calming breath* i would think that a "political fairy tale" would be a little like artemis fowl by eoin colfer which is freakin' hilarious and very good, or maybe terry pratchet.

Posted by lunalovegoodsnumberonefan Mar 2nd 2008

Wow that's cool she is still writing in cafes. Yes that is how i feel too with Harry Potter being overwith like an emptiness inside,i mean i will always have every Harry Potter book forever, but just to have nothing new of Harry Potter to look forward too just seems odd,and it will take me awhile to get used to not having a new Harry Potter book to wait for, countdown too,and speculate about:(. It's really upsetting to think we won't go back to a new adventure at Hogwarts with Harry,Ron,and Hermione and company. I don't know if anyone said this before but i will read anything JK Rowling writes, but nothing will ever top Harry Potter for me ever. Harry Potter is my favortie book series, will be forever, and i am a 100% devoted fan of Harry Potter, and have been since day one since the first book ever came out,and will be forever, and all of my life HP is tops.

Posted by KaitlinM Mar 2nd 2008

i know, i think we all have a "sense of emptiness inside". it was hard for me to adjust to after DH, i felt like i should be waiting for number 8! i think if she does ever write anything else, we must read and appreciate it for its own merits, adn not compare it to HP, because nothing COULD compare to HP, its like no other book, it is an entity onto itself.

Posted by lunalovegoodsnumberonefan Mar 2nd 2008

I love those books and authors too KaitlinM,they are among my other favorties. I also like The Inheritance series which is Eragon/Eldest,His Dark Materials,The Spiderwick Chronicles,Narnia,Lemony Snicket,Pendragon,Lord Of The Rings, and so much more. But like i said before nothing will ever top Harry Potter for me ever. Harry Potter is my favortie book series, will be forever, and i am a 100% devoted fan of Harry Potter, and have been since day one since the first book ever came out,and will be forever, and all of my life HP is tops.

Posted by cerberadragon Mar 2nd 2008

This news post just made me go awwww - I love that she's still writing in caf

Posted by Looney_Lovegood_Fan Mar 2nd 2008

I guess this must feel like a full circle. She started writing in a cafe and now she is back to start again.

Posted by KaitlinM Mar 2nd 2008

yeah, theres a lot of good books out there, but HP is different, its just really special

Posted by rooon Mar 2nd 2008

: )

Posted by spiffy_light Mar 2nd 2008

Whatever book JKR writes I will read. She got me passionate for reading and writing. I thank her for it. If it wasn't for her, I'll be still doing speech therapy.

Posted by mrsfredw Mar 2nd 2008

i love that she still writes in cafes....i too do my best work in cafes :-D jkr

Posted by soof Mar 3rd 2008

I'm exited... Hopefully it will be just as good as Harry Potter. Jo is brilliant! Still, it probbably won't come out for several years.. I still vote she makes a prologe with Marauders. (But then I would be dissapointed because I wouldn't get to see Remus and Sirius together! *tear*)

Posted by Emma_Granger_Rulz Mar 3rd 2008

It's cool how she's writing more books!! Whatever it is i definately going to read it!! But it will never beat harry potter!!! I mean the harry potter series changed my life and i absoloutly thank jo for doing that!! When the last film is out i'm going to burst in tears...now i'm looking forward for the next 2 films but when they r finished...it's all over!!! But not nessessarly...there is going to be a hp theme park and ppl r still writing fanfiction!!! I must thank jo for creating the story of the boy who lived in a magical world. Harry,Ron and Hermione FOREVER!!!!!!

Posted by thediarywithin Mar 3rd 2008

I will read what ever she writes. She's such a good author so way to go J.K Rowling.

Posted by Undesirable_number_1 Mar 3rd 2008

even though im reaallly bummed about no more harry potter books, i agree with the decision. Harry's story has been told and there's nuthin bookworthy that happens after the epilogue. But a book or series on either A-the origional hogwarts founders, B-adventures of albus severus, james sirius, and the second generation cast of characters, or C-the adventures of the maruaders. But whatever you do JO, good luck (not that you need it) and we're all behind you.

Posted by trueligth Mar 3rd 2008

let's hope the next book from her is as good as the magical series and that real soon we have the final book book about the magic world.

Posted by xxSabrinaxx Mar 3rd 2008

I hope they are as good as the harry potters!! :)

Posted by All_Things_Fiction Mar 3rd 2008

wow. thats sorta weird. I guess i will never be ready for the time when i will be reading a Jk rowling authored book that isn't Harry Potter. i grew up with Harry and JK Rowling. I cried at every page in DH in the last few chapters. Oh, what the heck I cried in the last few chapters of every book being sad that they're over. Well, now i can read FanFics. They pass my time. GO JK ROWLING WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!
