Amazon offers chance to read Beedle the Bard
Amazon offers chance to read Beedle the Bard Back in December, Amazon purchased JK Rowling's Tales of Beedle the Bard for $3.98 million in a charity auction. The online retailer promised they would work on some plans, and today they've announced a new contest that will let you fly to London and read the tales yourself!

For more details on how to enter (you must be 13 or older), click here! Good luck to everyone who enters, and thanks to everyone who e-mailed with the tip!

Awesome! : )

I still think it ought to be published sometime next year. The handwritten copies are still special, and the content is exclusive for over a year, but it eventually comes to the public. I would be totally fine with that if I was one of the Six. Maybe not if I was Amazon.

Oh, and the Doritos have to be about reading the multimillion dollar book with cheesy fingers.

Lucky, lucky person, whoever gets to go! Good luck to you all.

There are fans all over the world, but not all live in countries with laws permitting contests of this kind. They also limited it to countries with large english-speaking populations, presumably because they didn't want to translate thousands of essays.

Being 11... I love it but i hate it. I wish i could read the tales of beedle the bard. Why can't they make the age restriction 11 and older? I mean COME ON, just because some of you older peoples were my age when the books came out doesn't mean we younger fans are less attatched to the series. This is NOT FAIR AT ALL!!!!!! WHY DO THEY ALWAYS HAVE TO MAKE EVERYTHING FUN LIKE THIS FOR TEENAGERS... OH JUST A YEAR AND A HALF TO GO. GRRRRR. I HATE BEING YOUNG AT TIMES LIKE THIS. :.b the tounge on the smiley face is to all the people older than me that im jealous of. from, a very angry and confused samantha.

My country isn't in the contest! :((( It's so unfair! There were always different contests for UK people and I hoped this one allows me to take part! But NO!

Posted by lv_hermione Apr 13th 2008

This is SO UNFAIR. My country's not listed. ):
