Natalia Tena talks about her role in Half-Blood Prince
Natalia Tena talks about her role in Half-Blood Prince SnitchSeeker.com was at Collectormania 13 in England and spoke with Natalia Tena, who plays Tonks in Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince. Tena revealed that she has completed filming for HBP:

The only scene Natalia has filmed for the movie, isn't actually in the book at all. She was only on set for the part where Death Eaters attack the Burrow at Christmas (where Harry & the Weasleys are present). She said that none of the angst of her character is there - indeed, she and Lupin are just suddenly a couple when they meet there.

Anyone else ready to boycott the movies?

Posted by Mattuk May 5th 2008

Knowing the movies they'll probably have Hermione save Harry when he's on the train, because the movies do their beat to give her all the best lines and NEVER portray her as being in the wrong. They'll probably have her save Harry, save Ron when he's poisoned, beat Belatrix on her own in film 7 and distract Voldermort so that it gives Harry a chance. I can just see it now. Harry forzen under the clock and suddenly you hear 'HARRY, HARRY, HARRY' and Hermione appears, eyebrows working overtime to save the day. God forbid they make Ron look ANYTHING like a hero. God, I hate the movies.

Posted by kpotter24 May 5th 2008

This super-scene they are adding to HBP is going to be a fiasco. For one thing, it doesn't sound like it's going to follow the plot line at all, which is really sad. I'm not terribly surprised about the whole just smushing Tonks and Lupin together all of the sudden considering Tonks had such a bit part in the last film, but it's still mighty disappointing. So far, HBP gets a big thumbs-down. And it's really too bad, because this is a book that has great film potential. Teaser Trailer, PROVE ME WRONG! Alas, still can't wait for the trailers...

Posted by chidarkcy May 5th 2008

they can show the "chaos" if they put the scene of the prime minister muggle talking with fudge... is funny see him struggle with his thoughts and made you think about all the things that muggle and wizards are sharing in dark moments...

Posted by CrimeofPassion May 5th 2008

Just when I thought this movie might - just MIGHT - be good, news like this is released. *Siiiiiiiigh * And LOL, Mattuk. Hermione's eyebrows are like a character of their own! It's ridiculous. Why hasn't the director asked her to tone down her eyebrow acting a bit? XD

Posted by Padfoot777 May 5th 2008

Merlin's Beard! What? They aren't going to fight, no"I'm too old, to dangerous", what about that! C'mon, That is NOT Remus, I am so mad! How Dare they do that to the last Marauder?!* Barks and growls angrily like Sirius* Remus loved 'Dora, but he saw afraid for her, no struggling with emotions??!! sootyface 4, I am with you on risking Azkaban for the imerius curse, I wish the fans had a say to this!

And on a more lighter note, to be honest, i DON"T REALLY CARE about TONKS, her character was not much in HBP, except she was all moody and depressed because of Sirius Black, and her relationship with Lupin, which was unclear, the part of her Patronus chaning, is IRRELEVANT to me, because it does not advance the plot for HBP or DH. That's all David Yates cares about, in fact, many months ago, he said that for HBP HE WILL ONLY BE DOING SCENES THAT ARE IMPORTANT AND RELEVANT FOR THE LAST MOVIE, ANYTHING THAT'S NOT, WILL BE AXED OUT (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF QUIDDITCH), SO QUIT COMPLAINING GUYS! SHEESH, THIS MOVIE IS STILL GONNA BE THE BEST, WITH OR WITHOUT TONKS! HP FANS COMPLAIN WAYY TOO MUCH!

sighs you know pheonix night is everything you say really necessary?????????????? i think YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS RETARDED!

Posted by HPfanatic71 May 5th 2008

Doesn't surprise me. Those a'holes keep screwing up the movies no matter what they do.. so why not leave most of Tonks out also. I'm sure they'll leave Dobby's death out also in which ever 1 or 2 of the last book movies.

Posted by fancyultrafresh May 5th 2008

Well, I hope Harry still gets his face stomped on.

Posted by rob1007 May 5th 2008

im just mad there adding a COMPLETELY new scene. i dont mind those tiny little scenes that cover up the stuff they screwed up in the previous films but this scene i just WAS 2 big! a ATTACK ON THE BURROW!?!??!?!? that is the dumbest thing a hp director has ever added!

Posted by Hedwig8 May 5th 2008

I'm also dissapointed about Tonks not having much screen time. Who will find Harry on the train??!!! And I hate the part about her and Lupin already being a couple. I was looking forward to seeing the scene at the end when she tells him that she doesn't care that he's a werewolf. Oh well, I guess I'll just wait and see about the Burrow scene, but I really wanted to see Harry tell Scrimgeour that he was Dumbledore's man through and through! I know they have to change a lot for the films to work but it still irritates me when they take out some of the best parts! UGH!!!

Posted by soof May 5th 2008

My expectations for HBP just sank a little bit more.

Posted by moony08 May 5th 2008

Out of all the scenes to cut out, why the heck that one?? Thats the one I was most looking forward to!

Posted by cal526 May 5th 2008

No! I was soo looking forward to seeing them argue during the hospital scene in HBP! It shows us that they are both human and go through depression and fights with loved ones and depression can affect the choices they make (like with Tonks!)...Plus I don't really see Remus just suddenly 'hooking up' with 'Dora during Christmas. If I remember in the book Tonks was anti-social at the time due to her depression and spent her Christmas alone? And didn't Molly chastise him for not spending Christmas with her? *Sigh*....what's the point really of adding a character like Tonks to the movie adaption if they only give her one scene? Curse Warner Brothers!!!

Posted by LadyEvelyn May 5th 2008

Even with DH being split into 2, I'm scared for it after hearing this.

Posted by Silverness May 5th 2008

--- What's the big deal? So they're cutting off the pointless angst... it's not as if she had any significant role in this book. And she got together with Remus in the book so sudden anyway, so what difference will it make if they make it sudden in the movie as well? Personally, I think most of you are overreacting. And before you all go making death wishes on Yates, at least be grateful someone is at least directing the movie. Someone who, in my opinion makes a hell lot more sense than Newell did. ---

Posted by The_Fat_Lady May 5th 2008

Sometimes I wonder if Yates even reads the books. What a doofus. Removing valuable book content to plug a battle where it doesn't friggin belong is ludacris. I suppose Scrimjour arrives waving his wand instead of trying to coax Harry into some good press for the Ministry. If I were Jo... well, I'd be too rich to care.. but probably pretty ticked anyway.

Posted by remusrox55 May 5th 2008

Oh. My. Godric. David Yates should be sent straight to the fiery pits of niflheim for doing this. Adding an extra scene AND therefore cutting out the scene at the end in the hospital wing that I'd been dying to see since I read about it?! OMG Catherine Hardewick should be directing this. She is OBVIOUSLY sticking to the plot with Twilight! It's even obvious now, for merlin's sake! Then again, they already dug themselves a grave by excluding Dobby later, why not throw a little more effort into the funeral? I mean, Bill and Fleur and Remus and Tonks are of so little importance afterall. *nastily sarcastic* I want to strangle David Yates.

You know Ginny_Weasly_rocks_13, Is what these stupid HP fans got to say REALLY necessary??? They're all just repeating themselves, they don't even wanna realize that JK ROWLING approved of this, so there you have it. The HP fandom is made up of RETARDS!!!! By the way, check out the new Twilight TRAILER on myspace!! Robert Pattinson looks EVIL! lol

Posted by wtfomghaxx0rz May 5th 2008

I totally agree with Silverness. Last I knew, Tonks and Lupin had little to nothing to do with the overall plot. They are easily disposable. As a director, and limited to a 2 hr movie, they would be dropped out too. I love the idea of the Christmas scene - if done good, it will be a very emotional experience. Just think - the one wizarding building in the movies that has been explored besides of Diagon Alley and Hogwarts is the Burrow. Everyone loves the Weasleys. A ruined holiday by destructive Magical Nazis/KKK members is something JKR herself could've wrote about. Shame she didn't think of it. Honestly people, graduate from kindergarten and grow up. Life isn't going to be perfect. Don't get angry over a movie - at least they're getting made. And don't say "I'm refusing to see it." You know you are going to see it. Don't lie.

Posted by Padfoot777 May 5th 2008

Dumbledore has that place so protected, how could the Deatheaters get in??? I was really looking forward to the Remus and 'Dora hospital scene, I love the Marauders, and to see one fall in love....:D

Posted by MagdaleneRose May 5th 2008

NO!!!! what are they thinking? as much as I LOVE the whole book, the hospital scene is my favorite part of the book! ok, one of my favorites. a agree with sootyface. i would definatly risk Azkaban to put the imperius on Davids Yates. grrr.

Posted by phoenix_knight May 5th 2008

WORD wtfomghaxx0rz, that's EXACTLY what i was trying to say, but everyone was just tooo DAFT to understand... WHO CARES ABOUT TONKS! lol, and i think the Burrow scene is GREAT! kudos to you and that ;). I can't wait for this film, and the Twilight trailer is on myspace right now! yes!

Posted by poofer May 5th 2008

Wow, that's awful.

Posted by paulth May 5th 2008

While yes I would have liked to see more of them in the movie, I think that both their relationship and Bill and Fluer's relationship can be given enough play in this movie if sometime the characters discuss it in a three to five minute dialogue of how their relationship started.

Posted by michiev May 5th 2008

okay first of all, everyone here is pissing me off. they're allowed to change stuff in the movie, movies are not always the same as books (lord of the freaking rings, neverending story). they even said before that the reason they are adding the burrow scene is because they want to show how unsafe, even the muggle world is, because im not sure if they're having the double minister scene in the movie. also, i think lupin/tonks randomly becoming a couple, its perfect!, amazing. i cant even believe i didnt think they would do that. they're doing that, because they want lupin and tonks to have more time!, because in the books they became a couple at the very END of the book. and didnt really... have a lot of time in the seventh book. anyway, if your real fans of harry potter, why cant you get over the changes that are always going to happen in the movies? they're still good, the acting, the plot. its the same thing, except a few changes.

Posted by Lolaa May 5th 2008

SUCK ON THAT ONE all of you David Yates lovers... the guy was a bad choice for the franchise since the beginning and you all know that...yeah i guess most of us got over OOTP but HBP is seriously a joke now..it's getting ridiculous...so i guess CUTTING THE GAUNTS (& therefore a crucial part of Voldemort's part) CUTTING BILL AND FLEUR, HEPZIBAH SMITH (and the info of where one of the horcruxes came from) CUTTING PERCY, CUTTING TONKS AND REMUS RELATIONSHIP, AND ADDING A SCENE THAT WAS NOT EVEN IN THE FREAKING BOOK to supposedly get a point across but could've been gotten across anyway with some other scene in the book is OK RIGHT??? sure it is!!! AS LONG AS THERE IS CHO CHANG WHO WAS NOT EVEN IN THE FLIPPIN' BOOK AND AS LONG AS WE GET TO SEE LOVE TRIANGLES AND ALL THAT CHEESY LITTLE CRAP THAT ADDS NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO THE STORY then i guess i'm cool with it.

Posted by peroxwhy_gen May 5th 2008

This movie sounds like it's going to be a butcher-fest.

Posted by phoenix_knight May 5th 2008

YOU ARE MY BEST FRIEND michiev, man you me and others should start a club called: "The HP purist fandom SUCKS" club, lol. These ppl are being ridiculous, no matter how much they hate this, they're STILL GOING TO SEE THE MOVIE, LOL! GO HP! ~Phoenix Patrol OUT! ;)

Posted by i_loverz_HP May 5th 2008

AHHHH!!!!!! im seriously going crazy over here.... why why WHY do they always have to change the movie. it would be so much easier if the producers would just keep it as close to the book as possible.... but nooooo they have to add stuff....like seriously we would enjoy it so much more.... IM SO MAD!! i was actually looking forward to seeing this movie. but nope definitely not anymore :[ :[ bad day. one good thing though is that harry and draco are gunna be in it. HMM YUMMY!! :]]

Posted by i_loverz_HP May 5th 2008

wow we TRUE harry potter fans can complain as much as we want too... when they decided to start these movies it wasn't just some random idea that popped into their head.. NO!!! they got it from the book so dont you think they should keep it that way?!?!??!? obviously your not a true harry potter fan. we fell in love with the books not the movies so if you think im gunna sit here and be happy and content with the movies. never its either all of nothing. not lets take away this scene or lets add this. and its disappointing cuz the people that have never read the books think thats how it all goes down in the books. not really though. im just extremely sad right now :[ bad day times two!!!!

Posted by emsta224 May 5th 2008

OH OH OH NOT COOL!!

Posted by phoenix_knight May 5th 2008

In my belief system, IF JKR APPROVES IT, THEN I APPROVE IT! 'NUFF SAID! NOW LET'S MOVE ON, NO MATTER WHAT, YOU GUYS WILL STILL WATCH IT, SO WHO CARES ABOUT SAD TONKS! NO OFFENSE...

Posted by annabella_123 May 6th 2008

Oh boy. Retarded. >.< I'm over it. ..........FOR NOW

Posted by i_loverz_HP May 6th 2008

of course ill still watch it cuz i wanna see harry and draco!!! AHHHH. their pretty hot im not gunna lie.

Posted by Roonil May 6th 2008

phoenix_knight, can you possibly speak in a civilized way? Of COURSE Jo is going to say she approves, it's not like she can publicly say "You know, this new scene really sucks." Can you either keep your opinions to yourself or say them in such a way that you're not insulting everything you see? Okay cool.

Posted by thepottermermaid May 6th 2008

This is what happens when they take stuff out of the book- they end up putting more in to explain it anyway, completely defeating the purpose of shortening the film. Plus the fans gets pissed off. Nobody wins. =[

Posted by phoenix_knight May 6th 2008

This girl annabella, is the REAL retarded one, GOD i HATE the HP fans soo much, but i love HP so much... ironic isn't it? And Roonil, this is America and mugglenet, you are allowed to state your opinions, so long as it is not a threat to a person's well-being... so if you can't handle that (which alot of ppl can't from me) then quit posting on the comment board, or just simple ignore it... sheesh. JKR thought it was really "cool" and said she wishes she would've wrote that... why in TARNATIONS would she lie, on something SHE created? does that make sense, who told them to put Kreacher, Jo! who told them that Dumbledore is gay, so they shouldn't put a female interest.... JO! So please think twice b4 you attack someone... David Yates is the BEST director of the Potter franchise, and OOTP was the first Potter movie to Almost Nearly become better than the book, at least in the Possession part. God, all you guys wanna see is Tonks, you can wait until DH, where they promised EVERYTHING will be in it... so pipe down for goodness sakes.

Posted by HPatDH2007 May 6th 2008

So can somebody just verify whether the funeral scene is cut. I heard it was and I don't know whether it's valid or not.

Posted by phoenix_knight May 6th 2008

Oh yes HPatDH2007 , they'll have the funeral scene, how could they not? lol That means Dumbledore never died then... lmao
