1st?
I would LOVE to read it... !!
I think that is awesome, whoever wins, tells the rest of us what happens, 3rd... again
let us know what happens...
Cool! I voted for #6 on the 13-17 category, and #5 on the 18+. Congratulations to all the semifinalists!!
Great! I have something to do tommorow! Congrats and good luck to all!
top ten! wow i wish i could read them maybe whoever reads them will post what they read on ff
Those entries were ok... some were really good! Anyways..congrats to them! i voted for number 6 in the teenage catergory; #1 in the adult catergory. i didnt know it had to be in ballad form :(.
on second thought i just voted for 3 in hte first age group and 5 in the second
it's hard to decide...
Hmmm...weird... The kids did better then the adults i think. Tell us what happens whoever wins!!! Oh, and congrats to the lucky winner!!!!
I voted for #6 on the kids and #9 on the adults though I think my entry should have so been chosen over some of those. Here it is: 12 YEARS AGO WHEN YOU WERE BORN, WE THOUGH YOU WERE REAL GREAT, AND NOW THAT YOU'VE HAD TIME TO AGE, WE WANT TO CELEBRATE, FROM THE WIZARD AND HIS HOPPING POT, TO WENDELIN THE WEIRD, WE CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY, THOUGH YOUR OLDER THAN WE FEARED, AND ALL OF US HAVE GATHERED HERE. TO EAT YOUR CAKE AND SAY, WE THINK YOUR NICE.....AND HOPE YOU HAVE, A MAGICAL BIRTHDAY. See, isn't that so good!!!!
darn it! - i didnt get through
i agree, the kids are better than the adults... but there are a lot of really amazing ones! i cant decide!
These were pretty good. Kudos to everyone! Wooo Hooo!
i liked carolyn's in the younger category, but i also liked the kid who talked about growing up with harry :) kudos!
What the hell... i didnt write a poem, i wrote stuff on how HP helped me in my life... i dont understand.
Where was this 'it has to be a poem' stated?
i liked most of them
: )
: )
Why are there so many poems? Why couldn't they choose a mix of poems and essay type things?
Why were so many of them birthday poems?????? (maybe the judge really likes b-days?) =). I liked the ones that talked about how the books helped them (either w/ lessons or forgotten fantasies), they were so sweet.
umm... was there some kind of rule that it had to be a poem? I didn't see that...you'd think if there wasn't, there would be at least one that wasn't a poem.
=P May 11th ... my birthday. (and why are all these poems?)
Yeah...the 13-17 years of age did better by far...GF 18 and over! Anyways, what was with the Birthday Poems lol...#5 for 13-17 was a pretty good one to be honest. And happy B-day Chommy! (at May 11th of course) its on mothers day lol.
I wish I was the one who read the book, I also hope the this book can be publish to the muggles every soon.
#3, I love the way she compared the ages. Teenage ones were far better than +18.
6 and 7 stand out a lot too. I don't mind about them being poems but the fact that only two in the teen category were NOT from the UK, whats going on there??? It was nice to see a larger mix in the 18 and older selection.
The 13-17 age entries were generally nicer and more enjoyable than those of the 18+ group, although there still were some pretty good ones there too. I for one could hardly make up my mind about the 1 person to vote for in each. My favorites were: #2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 10 in the 13-17 group; #1, 5, 6, 8, 9 in the 18+ group In the end I voted for #7 Lucie C. and #8 Kay D. As to Lucie's, it really is my favorite (also so close were Julia C. and Riannon D.) As to Kay's I would have so closely voted for John O. and Laura H. but I chose Kay's and Lucie's since I liked their's as well and I haven't heard of them being voted for as much as the others. I agree it's strange that all those in the kids group are from the UK except 2, and all those in the adults group are from the UK or US except 3. I think they should have let us vote for our favorite 3, in order, instead of just 1 out of all the 10 entries. And I think they shouldn't make the final competition between the finalist of the kids' group and the finalist of the adults' group, why not let there be 2 winners, one from each group?
#3, RhiannonD's, was by far the best in the 13 - 17 category. You could tell from her poem that she truly loves Harry Potter and it's important to her. She was also the only Australian to be selected. I didn't really like any of the entries in the adult category, however, and many of the other poems were unremarkable.
I really dislike that they only picked poems. If that is what they were going to do they should have just told everyone to write one if they wanted to enter the contest...
on may 23 show your support for Harry Potter by wearing HP stuff like cloaks, robes, shirts, etc. Tell everyone
...oh, man. I didn't get in. and i think my piece was more satisfying than some of the others... why do some people think it's SOOOO funny to make up random nonsense names and make up rhymes that are less clever than something Crabbe or Goyle might say?? I mean, I loved it when Jo made up names for stuff (well, she had to!) cuz hers were more euphonious and based on Latin roots. also, i didn't like the topics they gave us to choose from -- two of them were downright silly and totally unapplicable to the MAIN IDEA of Harry Potter (which is a very DEEP and moral-issue thing), while the other simply wasn't creative. Amazon should probably have done topics actually related to Beedle the Bard! Not random stuff that doesn't play an important role in Harry Potter.
Hmm... I wasn't aware you were supposed to write a poem.
I had voted yesterday. Reading the poems were fun. I just can't remember who I had voted for, but I know for sure, I hadn't voted for #1 on both age groups. Those first two poems suck really bad!!! Sorry, but it is true. It seemed like the poems were put together in under five to ten mins tops!!! Anyways, good luck to all semifinalist!!!
I have the #'s right here on who I voted for and who I know should win: For age group 13-17: I picked #2 For age group 19+: I picked #5 Please everyone vote for #2 and #5. They are both really good and their poems speck for themselves when I comes to what the hp series had done for the world. Also, Both age group #1's were not making any sence at all!!! Sorry, but true!!!
