Smaller Half-Blood Prince casting roles revealed
Smaller Half-Blood Prince casting roles revealed Casting Call Pro UK has several actors and actresses listed for roles in Half-Blood Prince, and one of them may suggest how the film opens up.

Teresa Mahoney, pictured left, has been cast as "Sofie" in "Boardroom - Opening Scene". This leads us to believe that Half-Blood Prince's opening may stay true to the book.

Other casting includes a Slytherin Student, a Death Eater, and a Slughorn Ball Graduate. Thanks to Ryan for the tip!

can some morons understand that the one who writes teh screenplay is the SCREENWRITER and NOT the director? -.- on the news: excellent to cast small roles like these ones ;)

WOW! THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST BEGINNING SCENE IN A HARRY POTTER MOVIE, EVER!!!

Posted by lostmustard May 8th 2008

Who cares that the opening scene will be true to the book when they're cutting one of the most important (if not the most important scene) in HBP From here: http://www.the-lea ky-cauldron.org/2008/5/5/ natalia-tena-talks-tonks- in-half-blood-prince " She (Natalia) also mentioned that they were going to cut Dumbledore

Posted by lostmustard May 8th 2008

Sorry, here's the full quote: She (Natalia) also mentioned that they were going to cut Dumbledore

YES! The opening stays true to the book!

Didn't know if anyone mentioned it yet...to respond to angelina_johnson92's comments about the Gaunts...they announced months ago that the Gaunts were cut from the movie (yeah, sucks...I know).

Posted by ANT_CHEESECAKIANS May 8th 2008

Uh, lostmustard ...No....no......u m, tonks DID NOT say that Dumbledore was cut, how outrageous does that sound?!? she was just talking about herself. obviously you didn't read it well. it was only 2 short paragraphs

I think everyone should wait and reserve judgement for after they have seen the film (or at least the trailer). Even though thay have cut some good parts out, it does look like they are trying to put in most of the important parts. And btw, I don't think Yates is to blame for the scenes that are not written in the screenpaly. He's not the writer.

Maybe its like this...the opening of hbp is with the prime minister right? and all this destruction is supposed to have happened so mayb the government is in a boardroom meeting to discuss all these facts n stuff n she is a person there

According to the site, 'Sofie' or Teresa, was also in OOTP as a 'Muggle Driver'. 2007 Muggle Driver Film (Feature) HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX David Yates Unknown

I agree with Hedwig8 5! People should really wait until the trailer or the movie come out to judge!and The SCREENWRITER IS the one who makes all the cuts not the director!!:

I'm confused, who is "Sophie"? The sixth book begins with the other minister, then comes Spiners End, and then Dumbledore and Harry.. I do not remember any "Sophies", to be honest, I can't remember a character named Sophie in the Harry Potter books...

Posted by Dragon_queen4ever May 9th 2008

Sophie is like the Nigel from GOF and OOTP. Movie only character.

Posted by xLuna_Lovegoodx May 9th 2008

Movie only charecters are annoying. No one knows who they are! But oh well. I can't wait for it to come out!!!! :D

Posted by roomof_requirement May 10th 2008

Well, its good to hear that at least the opening scene remains true to the book :)... But how's this Sophie character important?! ^_^

Posted by SofieMalfoy May 10th 2008

First off, I think it's awesome with a Sofie in the HP movies. hehu! even with the right spelling and all. (could all you american people stop spelling it 'sophie' when you read that it's spelled 'sofie' I mean. you have the letter 'f' don't you? gesh it's not like
