Marriage equality? Man, Mugglenet, the causes you help get cooler and cooler!

Posted by MuggleLover Jul 26th 2008

Yay! Everyone should buy this! I was looking forward to it for a long time and purchased it, pretty much, the moment it went for sale :). I love the first one. (Who doesn't love bacon? Seriously!) I'm listening to The Girl From New York right now actually . . . :)

Does mugglenet support polygamy? If they truly stand for marriage equality, they should respect the wishes of polygamists along with homosexuals. What makes homosexuality better than polygamy? I personally find both to be wrong, but it is discriminatory to favor one over the other when neither of them are actually the proper definition of marriage.

O, WELL!!! I will just have to wait until Dec or Jan to get my hands on this product, because I am sure as hell NOT going to sign myself up for itones!!! "Better things come to those who wait!!!"

Posted by Grnd3lw4ld_ Jul 26th 2008

Supporting polygamy isnt popular kreacher_FTW, supporting gay people is. Hope that answers youre question.

YAY RHODE ISLAND!!!

Posted by jsacton2 Jul 27th 2008

UG! I can't buy the Cd for this now. Why take a stand on such a controversial topic?

Posted by Rose37 Jul 28th 2008

Good question jsacton2 and my answers to that is: So people can seem to be tough on the internet, when in realaity, their really weak. Another reason is that to see how long someone else is willing to argue with them, with no point in sight and in most case no end in sight. Those are the only two reason, I can come up with right now. I think my thinking is right now slow because of the little hours of sleep that I just got(4 hours total and it is now 5:50 and I been up for 50mins going on to 51mins), so if I can come up with and more reason later today, I will post again.

Its sad the way some people feel that they need to force political stances upon everyone when its obviously a very controversial subject. This is supposed to be a website dedicated to enjoying all things Harry Potter, not pushing an entirely unrelated agenda. The message you are sending is that this is no longer a website for all people to enjoy Harry Potter, but a site where you can enjoy Harry Potter only if you agree with our political views.

Posted by Grnd3lw4ld_ Jul 28th 2008

What are you talking about acelon? No ones pushing their agenda on you, the post has to do with wizard rock. If you dont agree with the message or where the proceeds go then dont buy it, its pretty simple.

Posted by emma_sophia Jul 28th 2008

I don't really think MN is taking a stance on it, they are just posting the news. No one is trying to shove their beliefs down your throat and no one is going to force you to buy the CD. And yes, I can understand why you could get mad if they are donating to a cause you don't support, I would be a little ticked off if the were donating all the proceeds to John McCain's campgain or NARTH or something else while some people would be very happy about it but I don't think there's a message of "you can enjoy Harry Potter only if you agree with our political views" MN doesn't have anything to do with this album, as far as I know, apart from the fact that they posted the news about it.
