Sorry, phoenix_knight1, you misunderstood my point. I understand that they can't include everything and I'm fine with that. Some things are not important. My problem is that they often times gloss over the really important things....Like the prophecy in the 5th movie. It totally changed Harry's entire life (and Voldemort's for that matter) but they never say how or why. Why are these people so desperate to get it, so much so that they're willing to kill for it? What does it mean, really, to Harry? We get none of this information!...For this scene, it's important to know that Riddle is suppose to be insolent and commanding because it is a vital aspect of his character. It has everything to do with motivation. How can I understand a character if I don't know what his motivation is, be it based in personality or action. It's screenwriting 101 and yet it's not considered. You have to know Voldemort before you can understand why he does what he does - it's why Dumbledore thinks it's important, it's why Rowling included the backstory - but the producers don't seem to think character consistency is important..Book 7 is going to become a major problem for them, with several plot holes, because they've failed to drop hints along the way and will now need to include 6 books worth of exposition....And I don't watch the movies with a book in my hand. I have a great memory (although I did page check to doublecheck my memory) which is why I remember details that are important, fun, etc.

oh, apwbdsgirl ok. the ONLY thing i fear in this HBP movie is Arthur getting mauled.. cuz that's gonna change the WHOLE plot in DH... and idon't even wanna get started with Dobby and Kreacher.. if yates can do this right... then he's gonna be THE director who's 2nd movie is better then Columbus' dreadful 2nd potter movie... let's just keep our fingers croseed, lol

i had to go and watch it on msn. but i still thought it was amazing!!!! best ever!!!! i know this movie is going to definitely be the best so far!!! but i dont get the whole part where something is chasing harry and ginny. does anybody know whats going on there?

I LOVE IT! Tom is soo creepy but i really wish that ron and hermione were in it more but i'm sure they will be in the normal trailer

i agree with phoenix knight. i was so excited to see the trailer and i thought it was freakin awesome...exactly what a trailer should be. then i thought i'd read through the 500 comments...and people are so ridiculous. every single word uttered cannot be exactly like the book. we already knew this whole time they had added a new scene. dumbledore seems much better this time around, tom riddle was totally perfect. and they're trying to make a movie...so they're not very well going to plaster snape's face all over the place to give it away. anyway i thought it was totally worth the wait and can't wait until november!

I am so completely ecstatic!!! I have watched it about 10 times! I CANT WAIT! I am starting to plan my HP release party, complete with pumpkin pasties, butter beer, yorkshite puddings, etc. its gonna be so fun!

i'm guessing the creepy guy in the cornfield is fenrir greyback?! and why isnt there anything with harry and ginny in there :( and we dont see much of ron either! oh and the potions book whichis what the books technically about...but apart from that i think its really good!

Okay, now that it's the day after the trailer was released and I have a fresh mind about it, I must say that I like the trailer a lot better. Yesterday in the comments I said that I was disappointed with it, but today I'm beginning to feel excited. Now the trailer actually gives me chills --- before it didn't. I absolutely LOVE young Tom Riddle. When he says that he can speak to snakes it's amazing; no words can describe how utterly chilling that part is. THIS MOVIE'S GONNA BE GREAT!!! :)

Thank you thank you Mugglenet! Absolutely loved it! Everyone's comments had me re watching it over and over, so much fun. Just like the "good old days" And I am amazed once again the casting people were Spot On. Where do they find these perfect, to the book actors! Little Voldy is as perfect as Luna was! From the very start with the Trio they have nailed it every time. Amazing. It is so wonderful to have some of the old Potter Excitment back.

YAY for the trailer! The movie's gonna be good!! Only thing that I was bummed about was that they didn't show the book. You know, the Half-Blood Prince's textbook. That's a bit important, don't you think? Not that I don't love little Tom Riddle >_<

mehhhhhhh... it was okay. at first i was like "that's it? where's everything else?!" but now i'm like "oh! that is everything!" because essentially that's what The Half-Blood Prince is about, isn't it? Lord Voldemort's back story?

apwbdsgirl - thank you for support:) I'm not saying that this movie will be crap - not at all. My point of view is the same as apwbdsgirl. I love this books, I grew up whit them and like every fan I would like to see good adaptation of it in every aspect. Mayby sometimes I'm obsessive about but only becouse I care for it:) And I still think that they should at least keep up whit details (clothes, characterisation, places etc.). I watched one more time and I have to say that apart from music and despite my diapointment of young Riddle here, I like this boy face when he see this cabient in fire..That was good. Anyway, like a whole fandom - I can't wait the movie:D

WOO! Finally!!! I am now all re-hyped!!! It looks like it will be great and I think we will get an idea of the entire movie when (or if) we get a longer trailer. It basically only focused on one part in the movie, which is great for a teaser but doesn't give us much glimpse to the rest of the movie. I will probably now analyze frame by frame ;). Tom is great. Super hyped :) I LOVE THIS FANDOM!

i am so happy with the young tom riddle... hes amzing. but the new scenes? i just dont feel right about it. I cant understand wheres the sense in the situation. If they had to put an attack in, why have to put it on Harry.... they could have put it on some random hogwarts students and no one would have cared. but harrry? come on. gosh. last time, at least the hp fans got what was happening in the movie. This time.... the non potter fans wont understand it and neither will the potter fans.

I love how Tom acts in the teaser! He is perfect; he's creepy throughout the trailer. His reaction to the wardrobe being on fire was amazing, too. You could just see from his expression the fascination.

I think david yates missed the part were dumbledore says finding out LV is a parselmouth didnt make him nearly as worried as the stories he heard about what happened to the rabbit/oher orphans etc. He ruined Phoenix and now hes gonna do it to HBP too!!!!! Wow! That really was a teaser!!!!! I loved, loved, loved it! I got so excited. I actually watched it on BBC Breakfast News yesterday and then I had to check it out another 4 or 5 times on the net. I love young Tom! How sinister and strange is he! It actually looks like they might stay quite close to the book this time *She says crossing fingers and toes and uttering prayers under her breath* I agree with Pygmypuff811 tho' what was all those bits with Ginny? Did that have something to do with the extra scene that wasn't in the book?

Oh and I just wanted to say that I realise that a lot of people hate what Yates did in Phoenix but I love him. I think he will do this and DH the justice they deserve. I am concerned at how they are going to bring Dobby and Kreacher into things tho'................ they have to do Dobby justice in the DH movie(s), they just have to and in order to that, in my mind at least, they need to reintroduce him, but since we haven't heard anything I am not hopeful.

ZOMG, i nearly wet myself when i saw this. i love how its the darkest one yet, Hero Fiennes-Tiffin (AMAZING name btw) portrays young Tom Riddle perfectly, he's so ruddy creepy. oh and to go completely off subject, i just looked up HBP cast on IMBD and freddie stroma who plays cormac McLaggen is LUSH. :)

Seriously, people, David Yates didn't ruin Phoenix. I doubt that anything he did in that movie, or in Prince, or what he will do in the next two movies will go against the wishes of J.K. Rowling, so if you've got a problem with how something is portrayed in the movies, take it up with her. I'm sure she was consulted about every little plot change, and if she didn't okay it, it wouldn't have made it into the movies.

For the people who are wondering about Ginny losing her wand and the cornfield stuff, its probably parts of the extra scene at the burrow. I don't know for sure, but its a guess.

Meh.. it was okay. Maybe I didn't get as excited because it has been way overdue.

OMG how amazing, I've drooled over it at least 10 times lol! Think I'll go read the entire series now.. yey! Thing is, I'll be in France when the movie comes out, so I'll have to go see it in French (with dubbed voices, not appealing), or wait till I get back home (to UK) at Christmas.... which will be like torture to wait for! OMG.... but the appetite is well n truly whet!!!! Wooooo

after listening to the podcast, I wondered what movie a theatrical [[sp?]] trailer would come out with, and if they decide to release it late, like in the month of October, it could come out with the new Leonardo DiCaprio movie "Body of Lies," which does come out in October, but no official date for it just yet. but the trailer was super amazing, I loved how they had those flashes while young Tom Riddle was describing his "uniqueness," you could say. I had to download it and slow it down on WMM to see every clip after watching the podcast, and it made me MORE excited for the film. I can't wait!!! =D and the young Tom Riddle, he's exactly what I pictured when reading HBP, he's perfect! The look in his eyes says it all :]

Well I'm behind on the times. I heard it was out yesterday but I didn't look. x_X; Some potter fan I am. I think it looks GREAT. I'm actually really looking forward to it. I must confess that with the other HP films I wasn't really eager to see a slapped together version of the book at 80 miles per hour (very rushed). But this one...looks very promising. Good acting, young Tom Riddle = genius casting choice. Good actor, from the little I've seen. And actual book dialogue...squee! ^_^ I can't wait.

i just want to make a disclaimer first: i am a bona fide, AVID harry potter fan, and have read HPB many times. however, my memory fails me, and i cannot place the scene shown in this teaser where harry is running through a wheat field or where ginny is standing outside in a bathrobe looking scared...can anyone tell me what scenes those are?

i wish it didn't look so similar to a horror movie. =/ this movie is sort of the "comic relief" to the series.
