I am as upset as the rest of you about the moving of hbp back, but some people on the internet and here are being so irrational. The petitions and letters are fine but boycotting the movie? That's just honestly stupid. That will be punishing the actors, directors, producers, and crew who worked so hard on hbp and had no control over the date. Boycotting the movie could also backfire. If warner brothers does not get a big opening than they may pull some of the budget from deathly hallows. Borcotting the movie is not the answer and everybody will end up insulting jk rowling and everyone else involved. You all have to remember that the movie industry is a buisiness. Buisinesses are unfair and really could careless about the fans even though they should. I am not happy that is was moved back, btu at the end of the day it is just a movie and because of the summer movie date i will probably get to see it more in theaters than i would have in the fall because of school.

GRRR. Why couldn't HP be moved BACK to Nov. 21? I saw the preveiw for HBP in front of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 and I almost started crying. I was so upset. The teaser in the movies still says November, by the way. I signed the petition! You screwed up WB, big time. And so did FOX news. Where did that reason come from??

I have not read Twilight. I don't care if it goes to a movie. I am a Harry Potter fan I will read them, listen to them on my ipod. But the movies... I am going to boycott them next summer. I have emailed Warner Bros and whoever else anyone has posted.

HP fans seeing that this news really saw our efforts in expressing ourselves, i say we boycott Twilight that way we send Summit Ent. the message that nobody should mess with us. Second, we shouldn't really boycott the first week of HBP but boycott the other WB movies and products. Third, i am really proud of this fanbase! God, this is just screwing everything up. I was comforting myself with the fact that I would have the game in November anyway, and now that's going to be taken away, too. And Twilight is so just trying to take the place of HBP in the Fall 2008 season, it's incredibly obvious.

Guys- I won't lie... I pretty much hate Twilight, but it's not their fault that WB is making huge mistakes! I've decided to not punish myself when HBP comes out, so instead of not seeing it at all, i won't see it in theaters, I will simply pirate it by watching it on a torrent web-site. Sure its just 7 or 8 dollars but at least WB won't get it.

Calm down Twilight isn't doing anything to Twilight, you should say you're boycotting WB movies not Summit. Summit was only using the date, to give it to the fans of Twilight earlier (and money too probably but w/e). As a fan of both I don't appreciate the bashing seriously, The Twilight fans aren't saying IN YO FACE HP! No we don't care we're only happy we get the movie 3weeks earlier, but we feel for you. Twilight won't be able to beat HP. Honestly, it looks like a crappy made for TV movie.

I might just be paranoid. But you have to wonder --- Twilight moved FAST to get our spot the second we moved from it. Not even 24 hours later. And if they had been planning to move their movie's date to earlier, why did they only do it now? And WHY of all dates, did they pick Nov. 21st? Why not the weekend before it? Do you think its possible that the makers of Twilight and WB arrangened some sort of agreement? If so (or anything along those lines), and WB just isn't telling us, then theres no hope of putting Harry Potter back to where it was. Not back to Nov. 21st anyway, not with Twilight there. We can hope for some sort of compromise perhaps, like moving the HP release date to Dec. 12th 2008 (Twilights original spot). It would be better than July 2009.

Twilight's okay and I like it, but not nearly as much as my insanely huge love of HP. I'm glad I'll be getting that earlier, but it just irks me that they're taking the exact date I was supposed to be getting HBP. I actually think it was sort of a dumb move on Summit's part. Even if the movie is amazing, the whole time I'll be thinking "I should be watching an epic battle at Hogwarts right now." It just doesn't seem right. I don't understand all the hate for Twilight. I don't read twilight and have no plans to but punishing that movie because they are being smart by taking the place of hbp seems a little unfair. An honestly again that move could have consequences people may not realoze the change in date. Hurting other movies especially movies not associated with warner brothers will not do anything. if anything everyone should go see twilight to send wb a message. That would show that hbp would have done well and that they could lose buyers by moving hbp. Unfortunatly though as a variety article points out that even though warner brothers has a lot of movies coming out next year they do not have any big franchises or blockbusters coming out and that is mainly because of the writers strike and because smaller divisions of warner brothers shut down like new line. Warner brothers now has to distribute all their films and there are a lot of them they can't fit in but will have to release. They need hbp prince in 2009 to ensure they have at least one big release that they can count on. Also i would advise against downloading hbp illegally. It won't do anything and you guys will be the losers watching crappy film quality. Ita sucks warner brothers did this but we need to look at the positive. Maybe now they might consider adding some scenes that they originally weren't because they have thought they wouldnt have enough time to edit them.

I hope it doesn`t. But here`s my take on Twilight: it`s a new movie about a book, and there are many die-hard Twilight fans ... not to mention Potter fans who like Twilight too. *grits teeth* So, they all will go see the movie. And plus, people will be interested with a vampire movie. And all the excitement about Harry Potter vs. Twilight - many people will go see Twilight just so they can have an opinion on which is better. Twilight will NEVER boycott HP in the box office. I will see both movies, I'm a fan of both, but really, the big chunk of HP income from the HP movies comes from the international market and Twilight JUST DOESN'T HAVE IT. Twilight may do good in the USA, but that's it. This is not about Twilight vs. HP, winning or losing something. The HP franchise is an out of control force!!! Why the bashing? Summit just took opportunity of the WB's stupid decision of moving HP back. Don't make it something it's not. Give hell to the WB! Where's Peeves when you need him.

Seriously, if enough people complain and if WB gets enough bad press they could move the movie back. Probably not to November 21st (because they're not stupid enough to make fans of both HP and Twilight choose which movie they want to see opening night), but we could hope for maybe a December release. It wouldn't be nearly as bad as waiting until July. WB won't want to be portrayed as money-hungry bastards, so they could reverse the decision to make it look like they "care about the fans" ("fans" meaning "money").

My guess is that the twilight studio planned for a possible move up since it took so long for a hbp trailer to come up. Also as much as people want to compare twilight to the harry potter series it can't be dones. The original harry potter movie brought in millions of fans who never read the books and that is something i just cant see twilight doing. It just wont be as family friendly as the original harry potter movie, so i honestly think no matter what hbp will beat twilight in the box office

I don't really think the Howlers will work...cause if they're in red envelopes then the studio is going to know what they are and just throw them out. The worst part is, I was hoping that in the event of a miracle the studio would change their mind and move it back. Now that Twilight took that spot there's no chance, they wouldn't change it if another major movie is opening on the same day now

That youtube vidio is great. I love when Ron tells them to psst off. Also, all of you 23,000+ who signed the online petition you also need to get a piece of paper and send a physical letter to WB. They can ignore the internet but not 23,000 + pieces of mail flooding there offices. Even if they dion't move the movie it will psst them off more because it clogs up their mail room and waste the time of their mail room employees sorting through thousands of letters. I think the Howler campain may be the best bet we have in trying to get the movie moved back.

Well this has changed my mind about seeing Twilight. Talk about taking advantage of a negative story. Oh well, I just hope WB really feels the ramifications of messing with something really good. They had a really great chance at making some money at a time when they could probably use it. Also, even though it's not the Summer, think about the money the movie would have made for them, but now they've gone and messed things up. They've made their beds and have to sleep in them.
