DUDE! dan has some type of disease! NO FLIPPING JOKES!!

Posted by hedwiglives Aug 18th 2008

Finished listening to the show, and it was a great one, guys. I was just kind of surprised that there was no mention of the negative feedback about last weeks' show with Stephenie Meyer. I personally enjoyed it, but I know many didn't.

Posted by pottertwilight0627 Aug 18th 2008

Really good podcast.Excellent! Go MuggleCast. You rock!

Posted by sgarime1 Aug 18th 2008

Yes! I'm listening now! Can't believe they moved HBP until 2009!

Posted by ginmo Aug 18th 2008

LindseyBindsey- it's not about waiting for a frickin movie. We're protesting against WB's greed so they won't pull this crap in the future.

Posted by Abergoat Aug 18th 2008

Cool, my Dueling Club was used.

Posted by frozenhamster Aug 18th 2008

Let me explain this all to you guys. Harry Potter was pushed back because of business. Simple. Because of the writer's strike they don't have enough big movies for next year. They move the movie to next year so that profits for 2009 that will meet expectations. Add to this the fact that because The Dark Knight went way beyond expectations they no longer need a Harry Potter film to boost 2008 profits. Investors also wouldn't have liked is 2008 profits were well about 2 Billion, and then 2009 profits were potentially under 1 Billion. This way the profits will be spread out over two years and the investors won't be scared away. Guys. It's business. Plain and Simple. The movie itself is basically finished and I'm sure it's great. They just want to make more money next year and spread out profits.

I think everyone knows by now that it's all about money. Thing is though, if they have the release around christmas a lot more people will see it opening night and then a lot of money will be brought in in January and February (and a lot longer i guess) and they would be more balanced but they still wouldn't turn their back to so many of their customers. AND besides, they could've kept the trailer for themselves for a few weeks and not letting us think November when they almost had decided July, that pisses me off even more.

Aww!! No more weekly Mugglecst? So sad, especially now with the delay of the movie! I guess I'll have to get all of my HP fix from fan fics and Mugglenet now. (not that those are bad things; i read fan fics and mugglenet daily anyways) I guess the shows will be better, though, since you'll have more time. i'll miss going on itunes 2 download the episode every week.

Posted by JoKatRowling7 Aug 18th 2008

Elderwand07: Dan does not have any kind of disease! Why do people like you make up stories about that kind of stuff just to worry people and tick people off?! In case you haven't noticed, NO ONE believes you because everyone knows you're lying to get attention from people who think you're telling the truth. So just shut-up completely or comment on what the article is about or about some other TRUTHFUL Harry Potter thing that's at least a little bit related to it, like the movie release or something.

Posted by LadyEvelyn Aug 18th 2008

*Sigh* I've calmed down, but I'm not sure if I'll get over this. I already knew something was fishy here. There wasn't even teaser poster released...

Posted by Hedwig8 Aug 18th 2008

YAY!!! Mugglecast is here! I'm so glad Jaimie is back!! Thanks Guys!!!!

Posted by Funugan Aug 18th 2008

noooooooooooooooooooooo mugglecasters!!!!!!!!! *clings desperately to all* *teary* what am i supposed to do now every week?

Posted by randomchat Aug 18th 2008

How come there wasn't a post on Mugglenet about Micah's birthday?! HAPPY BIRTHDAY :D

Posted by midnightdreamr Aug 18th 2008

You know the delay might have something to do with Radcliffe's B'way debut with Equus, which will make him unavailable to do the promotion work for the film during the 2 months leading up to its release. You can't promote a film very well if it's star is not able to do the circuit.

Posted by nothedwig432 Aug 19th 2008

ElderWand07, I assume by "disease" you're talking about his dyspraxia? Apparently he was recently diagnosed with it, but luckily it's mild at the moment.

Posted by Sally Aug 19th 2008

Peopleeeee we can make a difference... read this http://www. petition spot. c o m/blog/93/ (REMOVE SPACES)

Posted by Slither Aug 19th 2008

Lol. I think Eric referenced a popular Harry/Draco fanfic in this weeks "crackpot theory" segment which one was it? It sounded like "Left My Heart" by Emma Grant. XD Someone should ask him what all that was about. Did he get educated in H/D culture when he went to Terminus??

Posted by Evanesco1110 Aug 19th 2008

Alright, so I'll admit to signing a few petitions as soon as the delay was revealed out of initial shock and frustration. But getting our knickers in a knot won't help us. I know that we all deserve a good film, and hopefully, the delay will allow that to happen for us, even though we all know that WB is a money-machine and this decision came from a purely business standpoint. So now...we wait! As for MUGGLECAST!: What a fun last weekly show! I got a bit teary-eyed, I'll admit, and it sounded like a couple of our favorite podcasters got a bit chocked up there at the end. =] I'm sad that the regular shows are over, but like they said, the occasional shows will be that much more wonderful! ;)

good episode!I wonder if people keep complaining about the delay,WB will put the movie back?I doubt it,but keep trying people!

Posted by bhollyradcliffe Aug 19th 2008

i cant not even believe that some of u are going to give up on protesting to warner bros. if you don't even try then we will never be able to see it in nov. you are right, online petitions and you tube videos won't work on getting warner bros. to release harry potter in nov. but there are other ways to protest that might work. you just have to try, do u think its going to be easy. go to this website: hbpnojuly.blogspot.com/ it is a great idea and similar starategies worked on bringing back tv shows, it can work for us. write several letters, and tell other people to do it. please don't give up, don't sit around doing nothing and end up being one of the people that made it impossible to see it in nov. because you couldn't send out a few letters.

Posted by citylove3583 Aug 19th 2008

i love you guys! long live mugglecast!!! ♥

Posted by ginmo Aug 19th 2008

yes, it IS a business decision. But just because it's business doesn't make it right. It's incredibly WRONG. Therefore, I lost respect for WB. They showed their true colors, and I'M at least not going to sit back and let them have their way and take my money. No I'm not boycotting the movie, but I'm boycotting their other ones. We can still try to get them to move to december.. nothing is set in stone people. They proved that already. Just TRY.

Posted by ginmo Aug 19th 2008

PEOPLE AREN'T BOYCOTTING THE MOVIE. GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEADS. they're boycotting OTHER wb films! ugh. And when they say they are boycotting the HP film, they mean that they're only seeing it once, not multiple times. geeze people. MAYBE YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY READ THE COMMENTS.

Posted by AnnaSmee Aug 19th 2008

Actually, Ginmo, people ARE boycotting the movie. I might not see it if they don't move it closer to November and just get the bootleg.

Posted by xSushixPackx Aug 19th 2008

I'm so very, very sad that this is the last weekly episode D: I agree that it's good to do this so you have more shows with better content, but I'm going to miss them nonetheless. I only started listening around Feburary 2008, so I missed out on alot of the fun! Love you MuggleCasters xxx :]

Posted by MagicMaker222 Aug 19th 2008

i'm starting over from episode one!

Posted by ZekeA Aug 19th 2008

I enjoy MuggleCast for it's news & views ECT. So I will miss the weekly episodes of it. Since all the HP books have been written, & now with the Half Blood Prince moved back to July of 2009, not much news will be released, but I will listen when new episodes are released online. AS for the push back of HBP that is a decision by WB as they are a company out to make $$$$ period like all corporations are period. My own opinion is that the movie as is now is just awful so WB is going to use this extra time to rewrite, reshoot then reedit the movie to make it great. I would like to see them add some scenes that they had cut to pacify the fans & make it a great movie as the book deserves. I just hope that it will be a better movie than OOTP which I thought was terrible. The HP books are always better than the movies, as Harry's journey through books are visualized in our own minds so we see them exactly as each of us wants to so they are perfect to all of us fans of Harry Potter.

Thank you mugglecast.... you guys sure sounded super happy in this episode! (You sure you weren't smiling because its the last weekly episode?)......So.......b y next TIME, you mean next WEEK right?.....that'd be funny if you guys did release another MC this week because there was more news to discuss.

Posted by MaybeDavey Aug 19th 2008

i miss mugglecast already

Posted by 2obsessed4u Aug 19th 2008

End of weekly episodes= ;( Return of British Joke= Return of Jamie= :D =SQUEE! I love MuggleCast sooo much, and am really sad about the "final" episode. But really, it won't make that much of a difference, since, lately, they haven't been releasing them consistently every week anyway. Still, at least it's continuing..... and the absolutely OBSCENE JOKE of having HBP be delayed has a silver lining... more MC discussion for longer! Yay! Thanks for a great show, MuggleCast!

Posted by inizia Aug 20th 2008

I have a theory and I expect this to be deleted - Mugglenet need to not knark off Warner Bros by backing any sort of protest / boycott / petition because they need to keep on their good side to be invited to the set of Deathly Hallows. I switched off this Mugglecast as soon as it was said that people were going over the top - but isn't that what Harry Potter fans do? We are extreme and we love it!

Posted by tiassa Aug 20th 2008

they wouldnt delete that comment because they are fans as well and not some stupid big corporation. and not everyone there was happy about it.you are intiteled to your own conspiracy theories. mugglecast will get invited anyway just because they are so big. wb doesnt listen to mugglast so I doubt they will even know. mugglenet has been posting the links for petitons and vids etc. not listening to the show is your loss.

Posted by cometsawyer Aug 21st 2008

Thank you so much for posting the new episode that discusses the delay for "Half-Blood Prince." I am disappointed that The WB has pushed back its initial release date of November to July 2009. A lot of fans like myself have been anticipating the release of the sixth movie. I was excited to see new characters and the scenes with Dumbledore and Harry in the cave. I thought it was a great time of the year to release, but due to the writer's strike there's not sufficient films for 2009 that will compete with this year's success like "The Dark Knight", "Iron Man" and "Wanted." On the upside due to the "Half-Blood Prince" being moved, the much anticipated cult favorite film "Twilight" has been moved to November instead of its December release of this year. But that doesn't take away the magic and passion I have for the Harry Potter films.
