omg!!! my friend and i tried so hard to get in; and then those stupid people wouldn't let us get in, and we even had to ask someone to be our guardian and have our parents fax some stuff over there!!! it was so depressing, standing outside of the hall and just listening!!! it totally sucked; and now i'm even more determined to go next year or just go see some of the wizard bands at some point, especially the remus lupins, cuz i need some more hp in my life... especially with the movie being moved!!!!!

Posted by LunaLovegood123 Aug 18th 2008

Posted by acciohagridxo Aug 18th 2008

actually there will be another wrock festival, and this one is gonna be awesome. type nyc wizard rock festival on google and check out their website. I wish mugglenet tell us about when these festivals gonna be so we can go, instead of giving reports about the past event. but anyways, wrocks are awesome !!!

Posted by KaileeA42 Aug 18th 2008

WOOT! Kristina, Lauren, and Alex!( I'm a fiveawesomegirls fan too) That was awesome! Too bad I couldn't go..

Posted by val Aug 18th 2008

if any of you have actually READ the article, its actually really sad... not so much about the actual wrockfest, more about the growing hatred between harry potter and twilight fans. the comments after the article are really sad. just please remember people, you can like twilight.. but NEVER let love of harry potter fade.. yeah thats all i have to say. also, i agree with george- twi-rock should really be renamed vampire rock.

Posted by Rose37 Aug 18th 2008

All that I heard for the many of comments posted on this topic, was that hp is slowly decreasing in love from fans, and that twilight series has something to give to the readers that the hp didn't have!!! I AGREE AND GUESS WHAT I WAS ONCE A HP FAN, AND NOW I AM TRUELY A TWILIGHT FAN!!!

Posted by weasleyisdaking10 Aug 19th 2008

ahh man i couldnt goo :( and rose sweetie not the best place to advertise your a true twlight fan

Posted by tiassa Aug 19th 2008

I liked the vid. The article was rubbish. Comparing twilight to hp usually is(actually scratch that. its always rubbish). I feel as if the hp fandom had grown this year actually. I don't know what you're talking about Rose37. good luck keeping the twilight fandom going for another year. You will need a lot of luck for that. Oh and again with the article, I realy liked what all the wrockers had to say about twilight. espcially carptner. twiligt is a bad piece of litereture

Posted by Knight Aug 19th 2008

Twilight and HP are COMPLETELY different. They share the same BASIC genre of fantasy...that's about it. There's more in common with LOTR. But anyway, does it really matter if a lot of people agree with you whether or not a book is a good piece of literature? (I'm talking to Rose) As long as YOU like the series, that should be all that matters. One's taste in reading is personal. I happen to like the Twilight series (and get this, I'm a heterosexual male). I like the freestyle writing, as it gives you a sense of not exactly knowing what's next, though once you realize what happens it becomes obvious. That's also why I love HP, but I find there are many more reasons to like HP. HP actually DID encourage me to begin trying out new books. It was my "gateway" book to higher level reading. So, now that the HP series is all done, the fandom will live on, but it will slowly diminish, not in size, but in intensity. The same will happen when Twilight is finished.

Posted by NightStar Aug 19th 2008

Wish I could see the coverage it say not available!! pity I don't like in America.

Posted by Rose37 Aug 19th 2008

I am not saying that I will never again be a hp fan, but for right now Twilight series is what is part of my life now. Yes the hp series helped me get into reading litereture more on my freetime, than just forcefully by the teachers, but twilight has something more than hp doesn't have and that is keep the readers mind in the story plot. To say the least, when I was reading hp, I stoped a couple of time, to take a reading break, but once I started reading twilight, I could never stop. Right now I am almost done with book two(New moon) and book one only took me 18 days to read, while book two, for me I would say that I will be done with book two by no later than the 21, NO PROBLEM!!! Now if we were talking about the hp series and how long the books took to read the first time around, than I would say: Book one a month, Book two took me two weeks, Book three took me two weeks, Books four took me a month, Books five a month, Book six a week and Book seven took me six day to read and some books did take me a shorter time than book one or book two of twilight, but again each of the two twilight books kept my interest throughtout the whole book and with less to none reading breaks!!!

Ditto, NightStar. Sucks MAJOR.

Posted by Maccii Aug 19th 2008

I think I've missed something but... Exactly what is wizard rock?

Posted by tonks654 Aug 19th 2008

26th comment!!!! i saw myself!! that was the best night ever! it was so much fun!!! i wish every HP fan could have came and saw it!

Posted by nkk_kiara Aug 19th 2008

I didnt go, but it sounds really fun! I wish I could've gone!

Posted by tonks654 Aug 19th 2008

Rose37 if u like Twilight so much than why are u on an HP website?..... and on a happier not nkk_kiara it was cool, maybe u can go next year! im not sure when it is though.. sorry!

Posted by tiassa Aug 19th 2008

Maccii, Wizard rock(or wrock) is music about the hp world. There are many wrock bands out there who are writing their own creative songs about stuff in the books. To learn more about it you can go to the Wizard Rock section on mugglenet(left side, under info). There are many bands with different style, you can hear their songs on myspace for free and see if you like any(there are a lot there so chanches are some are to your taste-if you are looking that is).

Posted by angelina_johnson92 Aug 19th 2008

This stuff is absolutly ridiculous! Twilight doesn't even compare to Harry Potter. I think it's stupid how Twilight is making their own music genre. The Twilight community tries to be as big as Harry Potter. But (no offense) some of the Twilight fans need a major reality check. Cause guess what? Harry Potter will always be bigger then Twilight. I hope I didn't offend anybody by this.

Posted by bhollyradcliffe Aug 19th 2008

i cant not even believe that some of u are going to give up on protesting to warner bros. if you don't even try then we will never be able to see it in nov. you are right, online petitions and you tube videos won't work on getting warner bros. to release harry potter in nov. but there are other ways to protest that might work. you just have to try, do u think its going to be easy. go to this website: hbpnojuly.blogspot.com/ it is a great idea and similar starategies worked on bringing back tv shows, it can work for us. write several letters, and tell other people to do it. please don't give up, don't sit around doing nothing and end up being one of the people that made it impossible to see it in nov. because you couldn't send out a few letters.

Posted by Maccii Aug 19th 2008

Thanks tiassa! :) Sounds really cool I hope I can find something from Sweden so I can see them!

Posted by chommy Aug 19th 2008

Rose, are you freaking 5 year old you can't read anything? This is a WIZARD ROCK article. PLEASE PLEASE stop posting effing useless things that always bring us off-topic. God, you're really annoying me now. First asking us what your age is in Ginny's Birthday Article and telling us we're going to die some day in the same article and now this. PLEASE, SHUT UP!

Posted by Bre_bre_1991 Aug 19th 2008

I totally support the Wizard Rock fandom, and I totally support the bands anti-Twilight feelings. I kinda agree that the Twilight books are for a more immature generation and I hate that people view it as "the next Harry Potter"

Posted by dont_look_down Aug 19th 2008

fully agree with chommy

Posted by LumosSolem90 Aug 19th 2008

Ok..im SOOOOO saving up money to go to a wrock weekend or whatever next year. We don't have anything like that in Norway T_T

Posted by tiassa Aug 19th 2008

Maccii, I went to wizrocklopedia where there are band listing according to location. It turnes out Sweden has quite the wrock community: http://wizrocklopedia.com /index.php/band-locations /

Posted by Rose37 Aug 19th 2008

Ok, fine you want topic talk, than here it is, I wasn't able to be at the event and I wish that I had went. Now does anyone know where can I find any fans taken phones of The Chicago hp convention?

Posted by chommy Aug 19th 2008

Thank you!

HOLY FRICK I'M ON MTV ... for all of two seconds!! HOORAY

Posted by Rose37 Aug 19th 2008

Your welcome!!!

Posted by hpintwense06 Aug 19th 2008

blah blah blah. People please don't argue over which book series is better, because really it's all a matter of opinion. And really, it's okay to be a fan of both series! I'm a Harry Potter AND a Twilight fan, although I feel Harry Potter will always be my most favorite. And honestly, after reading Breaking Dawn (the last book in the Twilight series, unless you count Midnight Sun, but I don't), I kind of felt like I was done with Twilight. I felt that if Stephanie Meyer wrote any more about Bella/Edward or Jake/Renesmee, I wouldn't really care. But that wasn't the same feeling I got when I finished Deathly Hallows - when I finished DH I felt like I wanted more, like I WOULD read more about Harry's kids or whatever. So anywho, it's just a matter of opinion.

Sounds Cool! Question 1 : WHO MADE THE BASILISK, SLYTHERIN OR VOLDEMORT? I THOUGHT THEY ONLY LIVED A COUPLE HUNDRED YEARS. I'M WRITING A FANFIC AND CAN'T FIND THE ANSWER AND FOR SOME REASON I CAN'T CONNECT TO THE CHAT TO ASK. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED Q2: WOULD HERMIONE HAVE USED THE OBLIVIATE SPELL ON HER PARENTS OR SOMETHING ELSE? DH CONTRADICTS THIS AS SHE SAYS SHE'S NEVER PERFORMED A MEMORY CHARM AND THEN PROCEEDS TO OBLIVATE DEATH EATERS IN THE CAFE. Sorry to tick anyone off by asking here. It's ONLY because I couldn't connect to the chat and I'm in a writing wave

Posted by tiassa Aug 19th 2008

Slytherin put the basilisk there. I think it was said that it was really big meaning old? I don't know. We can also say it just had a kid or something(heh). The problem with the memory charm was solved: she changed her parents's memories and the death eaters were the first she obliviated.
