Alan Rickman discusses plans for life after Potter
Alan Rickman discusses plans for life after Potter The actor who plays Severus Snape recently spoke with Boston.com while promoting his new film Nobel Son. The reporter asked him a couple questions about his involvement with the Potter films:

Q. Do children recognize you as Harry Potter's Severus Snape? A. Not really, because I'm generally not walking around wearing a black wig.

Q. "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" comes out in July, and later in the year, you'll begin filming the series' final installment, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." How do you feel knowing that the end is in sight?

A. It means that I'll be able to do more theater as an actor. I couldn't really because I never know what my commitment could be.

Q. Would you ever do another film, knowing it could be six sequels?

A. Only if I was provided with a wheelchair and an oxygen tank.

Thanks to Scot for the tip.

Does Mugglenet know that Emma Watsn is the voice of Princess Pea in the new movie The Tale of Desperaux? Cause their email won't work.

Posted by tjd8591 Nov 30th 2008

Ganger345: Yeah they've posted a few stories regarding it. Isn't the new Alan Rickman movie called Nobel Son, not Noble Son?

Alan Rickman is a great actor. He is one of my favorites. He is exactly how I pictured Snape. He adapts his character from the book to the movie better than any other in my opinion.

Alan Rickman is a fantastic actor. I'll really miss him playing Snape. He's the male actor who can make his character seem real.

Posted by trueligth Nov 30th 2008

I like him in all the characters he had made and the ones for the future I sure I will love for sure.

It is a pity that we will have to wait until July in order to see Alan's brilliant interpretation of Severus Snape in the next Harry Potter movie. He is so convincing that I even overlook my wife's infatuation with the character.

Posted by Ginny311 Nov 30th 2008

Oh Alan Rickman, you do make me giggle! Bravo, sir, bravo.

Posted by snapebaby27 Nov 30th 2008

Love, love, love Alan. He is my favorite actor of all time!

Oh Alan Rickman, you're so subtly snarky. XD

wheelchair and oxygen tank........eh..........y ou are not that old Alan.

Posted by districtsleeps_alone Nov 30th 2008

I loooove Alan and his portrayal of Snape in the films. He does an awesome job of capturing Snape's personality and strange mannerisms... I love it. I will miss him so much after the films are over.

I love Alan Rickman. He's got a great sense of humour. It's too bad we have to wait until next July to see HBP. I'm also infatuated with Snape. They picked Alan perfectly. He's absolutely marvelous as Severus. He makes the Character come alive. He's what attracts me as an Adult. if he hadn't played Snape, I doubt I'd still be watching the movies. He makes it worthwhile for Adults to watch the films.

I dont care what he does, to tell you the truth, as long as he finishes all the Harry Potter films!

Alan Rickman is cool. By the way, its been annoying me that the Trailers have NO MENTION of the potions book. The movie is called Half Blood Prince!!!! Maybe the book was in the trailers and I just haven't watched them enough???

Posted by jml6880 Dec 1st 2008

Posted by amy4dan1327 Dec 1st 2008

"Only if I was provided with a wheelchair and an oxygen tank." That's the same thing that Richard Harris said to David Letterman shortly before he died :(
