HP Alliance Civilian Protection Update
HP Alliance Civilian Protection Update Thus far our “real world Dumbledore's Army” have raised over $5400 through the Harry Potter Alliance since October! This amount could fund either the protection of about 8 entire villages in Burma (1083 families) OR the protection of over 1800 Darfuri women.

In total, with the help of events like Wrock for Darfur the HP Alliance has raised over $15,000 for Civilian Protection in Darfur and Burma! Andrew Slack writes, “The generosity of this community, including the Whomping Willows raising $1600 for Haiti from his recent tour is amazing.”

Don’t forget that you can continue to donate toward Civilian Protection until January 31, 2009 as part of this project. You can give right here.

I think it's great that fans of Harry Potter can come together like this and incorporate the ideas of peace from the book into the world.
