Broadbent: Slughorn "a decent man, but a weak man"
Broadbent: Slughorn The LA Times has conducted a new interview with Jim Broadbent, the actor who portrays Horace Slughorn in Half-Blood Prince. Jim discusses what it's like to come into this franchise after five out of seven films are already complete:

"In the first one, I'm sure there was a bit of nervousness about whether it would all work, but now it's a unique position to be in, to be making a blockbuster without a lot of nervousness. It's hugely beneficial for the creativity to have a great deal of certainty about the process and the success."

Jim also describes the character of Slughorn, calling him "a good man, a decent man, but a weak man". Check the full interview out right here.

SECOND!!!!! PUMP UP MORE FRUIT!!!! wow, he sounds upset that they didn't get to him faster. This is Harry flappin' Potter! everything happens in a sequence! More important characters get an interview first, and he ain't that important! Like, at all!

Of course Slughorn is weak. That's why Dumbledore wanted him at Hogwarts. The fact that he was on the run for a year, to keep the Death Eaters away from him, that must have taken a toll on Sluggy. I know Jo said the DADA class was jinxed, but I think harry needed to learn different aspects of fighting the Dark Arts, and what better way then to have different teachers teach him. Even having Snape for such a short time, helped him. And he was better able to focus on Potions which is what he needed. Go Slughorn!

shouldn't slughorn weigh about 100 more lbs?

Uncool, chommy, uncool. Anyway, i agree with merrymarge. He is weak, and D-dizzle needed to keep him out of Death Eater hands. I still stand by my conspiracy about how D-dizzle really hated Snape and banked on the jinxed job thing to get him the heck out of there. 4TH!!!!!!!!!! STILL MORE FRUIT TO BE PUMPED!!!!!

i defanatly agree with Ravenclaw33 and merrymarge, and mugglelover927. i mostly like slughorn. hes one of those inbetween characters for me, i dont hate him, but i dont love him. he is pretty comical, and easy to manipulate, if you have enough alcohol! which in harry's case is REALLY good!

i hope hes a good actor!

mugglelover927 : um..who the bloody hell is D-Dizzle? Dumbledore? i kinda think that calling him D-Dizzle is an insult. anyway, i don't know if i like slughorn. I don't hate him...but he's not my fave.

Posted by mugglelover927 Jan 10th 2009

I was kidding, alexxx. It is Dumbledore. He's so far from a person with the nickname "d-dizzle" that I thought it would be funny. I don't know, i still stand by my conspiracy.

From the reading I agree with they say about Professor Horace Slughorn, he is a good man but sometimes he does not what he wants. I only hope that he is as good as the rest and give justice to his characther in the rest of the movies.
