Dan Radcliffe on the Potter franchise, Half-Blood Prince
"I think the thing we certainly tried to do in this one was strike a balance between the darkness,'' Radcliffe says.
"I mean, the one thing when I read the script I could always yearn for was more darkness and more of that real intense stuff, because I enjoy doing that more, but hopefully this time we have struck a balance between that darkness and a certain comedy in this film."

Don't we all yearn for Darker Stuff in the movies! I still can't believe that HBP is PG! Oh well... 1st!!!!!!!!!

so golly gee.....maybe the PG rating is right. We're going to have a balance between the golly gee moments and the intense moments. I dunno if i should look forward to HBP or not......... (i know i'll be in line at midnight...who am i kidding?!?!?!?!)
Ooh! Yay! I'm glad there's going to be a good amount of comedy in this film. I'm really looking forward to the Ron "love potion" story line. Yay Harry Potter! Woot! :P
great
Well that's good because I definitely thought that HBP was the funniest book by far!! I'm glad this one will have some comedy. But of course I also like the dark stuff. Can't wait for H/G!!!
Don't you think it would be cool to have a Harry Potter comedy!?. that would be so cool!!!
Isn't he sick of giving interviews?
HAHA DANIEL RADCLIFFE JUST DISSED THE PURISTS AND SAID WHO CARES ABOUT THEM! YOU GO DAN! ;)

I hate how since the very begining of the making of the films, it's always been -- "This one's going to be darker" please, can we get rid of that word, or something ? It's really starting to annoy me. But anyways -- all this talk about HBP get's me so hyped up for the movie :D can't wait.
Busta move, pheonixknighter. They are not physically capable of making the movies darker. so they have to take a step backwards, and ask for more interviews. They're all just really desperate for news. Kinda like we are.
He says "crap" too much. Get a vocabulary. And as for the less low comedy, it certainly looks like there is lots of silliness in the trailer, what with Ron on the love potion and Hermione hitting Harry over the head. I agree with love_harrypotter14: they overuse the word dark, it's always darker, darker, darker! Dark and crap, words of the day from the teen millionaire. :)
Is it just me or is that interview TERRIBLE ?!?!? It says there is an emerging romance with Hermione ! A book that helps him fight Voldermort
blec more 'this ones going to be darker'. we all understand that now, can we get a little bit more please? still cant believe its rated PG, what about the whole Inferi scene where theyre carrying Harry across the lake?? ever thought of that WB, huh? im getting less and less excited about this film...well actually ive already reserved my ticket for midnight!!!!!
I just wanna see the movie already haha!
I agree Twin_of_Ron, it even said at the end of the interview that it was coming out July 16th, but it's coming out the 17th.
Oh well, the 17th is only one day longer. lol Angela from Aberdeen Backlinks
The film comes out in Australia on July 16th and that is a Australian interview, so....
...they didn't make a mistake is what I am trying to say.
The reporters could've researched the movie a bit more- "...he discovers a book that seemingly explains the past that will help him battle with Lord Voldemort." "There is also emerging romantic confusion of mid-adolescence involving Hermione Granger (played by Emma Watson) ". Not quite accurate. On another note, I live in Melbourne and I think it's great that Dan cares about Australians enough to actually learn a proper Aussie accent.
Considering what's going to happen in the next 2 films, and the current state of the world, it's probably for the best that this one is not as dark, and somewhat comedic. People are wanting a break. Yes, it's going to end on a sad note, but I think they're saving the massively dark stuff for DH 1 & 2. After all, they've eliminated the battle of Hogwarts in HBP, in order to have a HUGE climax at the end of DH 2.
I couldn't AGREE with you more txRABbit .. FFFUUCKK the ratings!! I mean we ALL know what DH is gonna be rated.

i'm not really fond of this balance between darkness and comedy. it should be 90% dark and only 10% comedy.
Godric_83, think of it as 60% Dark, and 40% comedy.. I LOVE IT! It's about time HP take a different approach instead of ALL dark, and CORNY jokes... At least these jokes will actually be funny!
Yeah I'm looking forward to the comedy , hope it has a good balance of dark too though ! Ok Arry but it still said there was an emerging romance for Hermione and that the book helps Harry fights Voldemort. Kinda shows they don't care about the books but because it is famous , let's do an interview ! Anyway ... 185 days to go !
oh who really cares if its a little less dark and a little more comic, its the 6th hp. im just glad its only 6 months away and they brought quittedge (sorry if its spelled wrong) back. the trailers all look awsome. I agree that the paper/magazine didn't do their research. the book is a potions book and the romance is with ginny not hermione. hermione has her romance issues or jealous bit with ron. anyways can't wait for HBP.
Random but who thinks that Dobbys death in DH wont be as massive as it was in the book ?
I'm sure it'll be massive Twin_of_Ron, His death will change Harry anyway
