MuggleNet Internship Program: join our staff!
MuggleNet Internship Program: join our staff! Have you ever wanted to volunteer for the most visited Harry Potter fansite online? We've just updated our Job Openings page with four new areas that we're looking to fill: Content Editors, News Editors, Graphic Designers, and Programmers.

Content Editors and News Editors will be hired as part of an internship program for a trial period. In that time, you will do different tasks around the site to show us why you'd be an excellent long-term MuggleNet staff member. Once the trial period is over, we will review who the most dedicated interns are and make them official MuggleNet staff members (remember: these are all volunteer positions).

If you're on the fence about volunteering for us, we encourage you to check out this new site feature: The Top 7 Reasons to Volunteer for MuggleNet. Please visit the Job Openings page for full details on applying for each position. We hope to see you on the team soon!

Volunteering. : )

Posted by browncoat Jan 10th 2009

Really cool! :) I'm a Graphic Designer, but I'm a bit unsure whether it'll be convenient for me to apply when I live in Australia because of time zones. But oh well, I still might apply and see what happens. :)

this is such a great opportunity! does anyone know if there is a specific job to volunteer for the caption contest page?

Posted by hp_rox_my_sox15 Jan 10th 2009

Oh, the things i do for mugglenet. I have no idea how to use HTML, but goshdarnit, i'm going to learn if it takes me forever!

Posted by MagdaleneRose Jan 10th 2009

darn... I wish I could... I don't think I'm good at those though :(

Posted by AndrewW Jan 11th 2009

Darn, I'm awesome at most programming except web programming.

Posted by jay4034 Jan 11th 2009

just mailed in my app for news editor. lol i was less nervous when i applied to college.

Posted by G_wizzle Jan 11th 2009

I love their top 7 reasons especially the 6th one lmao. I would apply for news editor because I search the web for harry potter news all the time lol what else am i gonna do with my free time? but it's a pity that I'm not very skilled in HTML and FTP programs. I used to be skilled but that was six years ago way back in seventh grade =( now I wish I had kept up with it.

Posted by thepensieve Jan 11th 2009

so did i

Posted by anna_s Jan 11th 2009

I would love to be a volenteer for mugglenet. But unfortunately i don't think i would be the best person to do it. I am so jealous of everyone who applied, I hope whoever gets the jobs has a great time and does a great job.

Posted by Kranendonky Jan 11th 2009

-sighs- I would but I have no idea what a HTML is or how to use/make one :'( . I live i Australia so i might of also had the change to post while all the USA peoples are sleeping if it wasnt for the stupid HTML

Posted by sirlupton Jan 11th 2009

I've applied...I've done HTML before, not much, but I am a good learner however I am good writer so hopfully I can get the internship for the content editor...I don't know though because I'm only 17 and I don't know if they want someone older....

Posted by dachosenone Jan 11th 2009

*sigh* I wish I had time to do this, it sounds awesome!

Posted by kcharles Jan 11th 2009

Well, I applied! The worst they can do is say no! *thanks her friends for teaching her HTML*

Posted by heather_s_70056 Jan 11th 2009

As much as I love Harry Potter, I'd like to get paid. Good luck to those who are interested though. It's a great opportunity to learn and a big resume builder.

Posted by jay4034 Jan 11th 2009

i really don't mind the no pay thing, i've been hoping for job openings on this site since i first started visiting here. right now i'm willing to trade cash for a positive resume building experience. especially if that experience involves the Potter universe.

Posted by the_shrieking_snack Jan 11th 2009

sweet! i should give it a try.... lol i like the photo

Posted by PotterGeek731 Jan 11th 2009

Posted by the_shrieking_snack Jan 11th 2009

ohhh dang...i don't have a clue how to run HTML or WTF, or idk lol whatever those things are called... :( epic bummer. best of luck to those shmart ppl who DO know.

Posted by shiningstar Jan 11th 2009

Is there a deadline? I'm not sure what to apply for, content or news. =/

Posted by citywiz Jan 11th 2009

I've been exposed to HTML since I started surfing the web, but FTP is really new to me. Just use it to download files from school and do my essays. I admit I find it a little nerving that I might not get the job just because I'm young. Hope age doesn't play a huge factor into their decision. I'm not sure if the samples of my writing were good enough though. AHHHH!!!! Why am I freaking out?!?!

Posted by harrypotterandthedeathlyhallows_7 Jan 12th 2009

I'd love to be a graphic designer (or anything else, aactually :D), but i dont have enough free time.. :(

Posted by theworldneeds_color Jan 12th 2009

I would love to do this, but first of all, you probably have to be sixteen and older, and secondly, despite my advanced writing skills, I have absolutely no idea how to use HTML or FTP. It's really too bad, I would love, love, love to work for Mugglenet! Well, I guess I'll have to wait till next time around. But good luck to all those who do apply!

Posted by Janey Jan 12th 2009

Ohhh how exciting! I would LOVE to volunteer, but I don't have the time. :( Good luck to everyone else who are applying.

Posted by annamb Jan 12th 2009

Hey does anyone know a deadline for this? Don't want to miss out on a great opportunity because I missed the deadline.

Posted by pygmypuff811 Jan 12th 2009

i wish i could!!! i dont have the time tho... w/ school and stuff... i would ADORE being a news editor :[

Posted by Alas_Earwax Jan 13th 2009

Great list of reasons to volunteer! lol

Posted by soxfansara Jan 13th 2009

I love the list of reasons to volunteer! I'd love to be a news editor but I don't have enough time to take the job. Best of luck to all the people that applied.
